I'm going to post this to start...I may be interested in sharing a ride from and to the airport in Orlando with anyone. I can book it if you'd like or if you already have it booked I'd be interested in sharing. I don't know if it will matter if we are going to different resorts but I'm going to OKW and heading back to the airport from OKW. If this gets too out of hand I might need to split up this post by day and I'd be willing to do that.....

Towncrier is willing to possibly pick up and take someone to airport if necessary - he arrives afternoon of Dec 1 and leaving Dec 13 sometime.

Chris, this is a great idea. I was hoping we could coordinate some of our arrival and departure dates and times. :D
I'm planning on arriving on Dec. 1 (aiming for a morning flight) and leaving on the 12th. (hoping to leave late afternoon or evening)
I am hoping to hook up with someone and share a towncar so I can avoid Mears. It's not that I don't like Mears, it's that it just takes so darn long to get to WDW once you land and then they pick you up too early. A towncar would be so much nicer. :D :D

I was looking into some flight info late last night. it looks like if I want to use my USAir miles I may have to fly in on the 30th. For some reason, Dec. 1 is blacked out. I guess I should make some calls today. :) So for those of you traveling on the 30th, stay tuned. We may be able to work something out.

Dec. 1st is the Sunday after Thanksgiving...NOT a day I'd want to be at an airport! That's also why it's blacked out for FF tickets on some airlines. I'm flying to Orlando on the 29th, but not going to WDW until Dec. 1st.

I haven't actually booked a flight yet but I plan to arrive on November 30th sometime between 7 and 10 pm (that seems to be when most flights from here get in). I will be leaving in the late afternoon on the 10th. As soon as I book a flight I will give more exact times.

Chris I arrive on the 2nd but I am staying near the outlet mall so i can 'shop till i drop' the next morning. I could always meet you at the airport on the 3rd when you land??? Also I fly home on the 9th at 16:05 so I would love to share a ride with you. I take it your time was pm, no one would want to get up at that time am the day after discon!!

I have decided to drive down to WDW after I get off work at about 8:00 A.M., Saturday morning, November 30, 2002.

I want to see the Spectromagic parade and Fantasy in the Sky fireworks at WDW Magic Kingdom that night. I don't know what time the parade starts.

But I will arrive 11/30/02 and departing on 12/18/02.

I'd be glad to stop by the airport on my wy down Saturday afternoon (I bought a cell phone...lol.) and even late Tia after the parade.

I think that I'm picking up Barb from Sanford on 12/01/02 around 9:30 A.M..

A towncar sounds nice. They let you stop by the store to pick up a few things.

My car is tiny, but I'll be able to make grocery store runs if necessary. I might even be able to take a passenger to/from the airport. But if you have more than carryon luggage, we could be in a heap of trouble. Seems that there isn't much trunk space in a Saturn Sport Coupe. :(

I'll be arriving in the Orlando sometime in the afternoon on Sunday December 1st. I have to check out BCV on December 13th, but I may hang around a bit on Friday before driving back to Ohio.

I haven't booked my flights yet (waiting for a bargain) but plan on arriving on SWA at 11:15AM Dec 2 and departing 6:05PM Dec 9. I've got an economy car rented and will give anyone a ride to any resort around those times. Last year Barb went from the airport to WDW with me and Debbie and Kaitlyn made the trip back to the airport with me. So you don't have to have a matching schedule on both ends.

Dec. 1st - I'll have a rental car and can swing by the airport for a late morning or early afternoon pick-up. I'll turn-in the rental car on the 2nd.

Dec. 8th - my flight leaves at 6:45 p.m., and I'd like to share with someone if possible. :D

One thing to keep in mind if you plan to share a towncar...depending on the airlines being flown, you might not be able to get dropped off at more than one terminal - without paying an extra charge. I'll be on American Airlines.

Ok I purchased my airline tickets today. I will be arriving at MCO at 9:45 PM on November 30th (flying on Delta) and will be leaving at 2:00 PM (also on Delta) on December 10th. I will be arrangng for a town car so if anyone wats to hitch a ride let me know.

Since I live in Florida, I may be able to pick some people up at the airport, but it depends on when I'm arriving. I have a car that can hold 3 people, 4 if someone rides in the trunk. :) All I ask is that you pay for parking and give me a hat so I can say "Yes Miss Daisy!" :)

I will probably be at the airport to pick up my parents on the 30th...unless I get them a town car (hate to send them on Mears and have us lose half a day together that way....) They arrive a little before noon, I think. So I may have some room in my van....my dh probably won't make the airport run with me but my kids might...I probably have at least 2 seats. We're going to BWV, but I know my way around well enough to get anyone where they need to be.

They fly back on the 7th, so I may be able to provide someone with a ride then too....

Stupid question here, but when going to pick someone up at the airport where do you park? And I would be following signs for "arrivals", correct? For some reason that arrivals/departures thing confuses me.... My only airport driving experience is with the ABE airport in Allentown....a small airport. MCO is so big!

You're correct Lesley, you meet them at arrivals. There are several places you can meet people. Outside the baggage claim area is ok.

We've always met arriving parties at the Shipyard Brew Pub which is right in the middle of the airport on the same level as the arriving flights. Doesn't hurt that while waiting we can throw down a couple of brews. :D :D

Here is a great website for MCO which has diagrams that shows where the gates and shops are. You can even check which airline arrives at which gate.

I printed out the diagrams, circled the meeting spot and sent them to everyone who was coming in (we had 15 people arriving on 6 different flights). It worked out perfectly.

Tia, American and United are in different terminals - so you'll need to inform the driver ahead of time if using a towncar service, as it could change the price.

Thnaks for the info Nancy. My flight arrives earlier so I will just head over to the other terminal and meet the driver there. I assume there are shuttles available to get me from terminal to terminal right? or some way to get from baggage claim b to a?

Shannon, I don't know if Delta is in a different terminal than American. I also don't know how you get from one terminal to another, but I'm sure someone has done it before.

All of the terminals are serviced by the monorail that goes back to the main terminal. There you can pick up your baggage at either claim area A or B. If you don't have too much luggage, it shouldn't be too much of a hassle going from Baggage Claim A to B or the other way around.

Hi, we arrive 12/1 at 10:17 AM on ATA and have booked a Town Car and have our confirmation for it. We go back on the 8th have 8:30pm flight. So will be picked up around 5:30 PM for trip to airport. We are staying at OKW, it's DW and me so we have room for 3. If interested please PM me and will make arrangements:)

I will have my car - arriving Dec 1 - Dec 9 at this time (with the new rates I may come in sooner)- it is a Honda - so only room for 3 plus luggage - (well possible 4 if they are small - 3 can fit in the back - tight in my opinion).

Southwest had such great fares...I booked fast, thanks to that great tip here on the boards. Not only that, but I got non-stop flights!! Total cost for RT after taxes and fees is only $151.00!! I just have to loose some weight so they don't look at me and charge me for an extra seat. LOL!!
