jingle and jangle showed up last night... they made themselves right at home, hung lots of snowflakes from the ceiling fan.... which by the way FASCINATED the cat... not sure what is going to happen tonight since we will be in de until like 8:30 and then it's a 2hr drive home... ugh. maybe just game night. :)

Glad to hear Jingle and Jangle got thru customs without issues... Customs kept our passports for some reason.... I got an email a bit ago saying they were FEDEXing them today! LOL (knew I had forgotten something)... tonight is set the vehicle nights... DH and DD will be starting their vehicles to blaring Christmas music and passengers with notes!

Ok, off to decorate the hallway with our angels... than I need to write in the books for the kids....

OMG! DS9 is all into this.. I'm going to have to be super sneaky..
I had 3 decorative elves..that I hid in their rooms... he found them all... he went searching after he found it on his bunk..
After the photo shoot today, I didn't put the elves back the way they were orginally and he noticed! OMG! He is a hoot...
He is currently carrying Bentley around... so much for one touch rule.... but this will help him thru this time. He has now asked for the camera and is taking photos of Bentley around the house!!

I even have the two little kids I babysit believing that I have nothing to do with the strange things going on....

Ok, off to see his little face because he is just thrilled by this!!!

OMG! Kate, she's got the bah humbugs! Yes, I do believe a strike is in order!!
My older kids are laughing (13 and 16) so they pretty much know... but some of the stuff they aren't expecting and will laugh hysterically about..

However, DS9, is bad about trying to figure every little thing out and not allowing the older kids to find "issues"... He wrote a letter to the academy last night and someone wrote back! He thinks it's funny that Bentley "rights" some of his letters backwards so DS9 was giving him a handwriting lesson last night!

DH got the crud scared out of him this morning because Keebler, a rouge elf, got in his car and set it last night (thank you DD!)

OH, today the reindeer were all different place, DS9 counted them 3 times and finally found the missing reindeer.

DD has a co-pilot for her first drive to school. I have to pick up Sn*wflake from the parking lot around 10:30am.

I think the elves at the disney store are from prep and landing which is on abc family soon. I know I set my tivo for it so maybe dec 2 or 3rd?

I know I am backtracking a bit, but I am so excited about Prep and Landing too! I am so happy they are finally premiering a Disney project on television. It actually isn't going to air until 12/8 @ 8:30/7:30c on ABC! That is such a wonderful treat! Is anyone else planning on watching "Pixar Short Films" which will also be on ABC Family tonight? 20 Pixar Shorts for a full 2 hours! I can't wait.

WE are having a "Elf to Mommy" meeting today.... and we are going to be discussing that all the naughty behavior has to stop because the kids really enjoy having them here and they are due to report to Santa tomorrow night. The kids don't want to have to rat them out... LOL

I'm going to take a photo of them on the couch and one w/ me talking to me about the behavior... Tonight was scheduled for a quiet night anyway, it's movie night.... so there will be empty wrappers and soda and a new movie, the elves on the couch w/ a remote... (this is a normal thing for the kids to do if they stay up later than me!)

No, I can make them as soon as they go to bed... the way our house is set up, the bedrooms are completely opposite of the kitchen....so they usually don't smell them.. :)
The biggest issue will be keeping DH out of them!!!

That is some kind of prehistoric sea creature on the very front that wraps around the base. It is a Star Wars/Clone Wars scientific kit. Unfortunately the sea monkey creatures didn't hatch. Now it is a betta fish habitat. :rotfl2:

I have seen elves at michaels, home goods and then prep and landing are at the disney store. those are all cute, not a fan of the annalese ones, they are kind of creepy and dd told me that the elf on a shelf is equally creepy. :) try looking in odd places too like the grocery stores, a friend of mine got a cute elf at safeway I think. of course, if you sew (I don't) one of the links on this page is how to make an elf, he/she is actually quite cute. :) good luck!

I'm new to this thread :) I have been posting our elfcapades on THIS http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2321254 thread tho :)

This is our third year with magic elves. The first year we had adopted an elf from an online website, I had a very hard time finding an elf tho, he just moved around the house each day. Last year I found a new elf and got a bit more creative, Skeeter caused a bit of mischief the month he spent with us. And this year the kids had adopted elves from a store and from a garage sale. They wrote letters to santa asking if he could train them to be magic elves and join skeeter this year. They are currently finishing up Santa's E.I.T. (Elves In Training) Program. they were suppose to graduate last week, but our printer went on the fritz so I can't print out any of the doccuments I've made up for it :(

Our elves are Skeeter Jingle Peppermints (His twin sister, Penelope Twinkle Peppermints lives with my neices and nephew) our new elves this year are Elvin Jingles and Miss Trixie :)



Our Elves arrived on Sunday November 29th, they set up and decorated the kids little trees in our living room :)

* They cuddled up in their sleigh and had answered a bunch of questions the kids had wrote to them

* 12/1 when the kids got home from school we opened our door to find them at the computer blaring Christmas music and typing up a message for the kids to watch Prep and Landing.

* That night Elvin found my DS7's lunch bag and used it for a sleeping bag because the one Mrs Claus had made him was too small, she forgot he was an oversized elf ;)

* 12/2 we had a light dusting of snow and the elves were excited to go play in it, they built the kids a snowman, but when they brought it inside it melted so they decided to build one out of cotton balls and roll it in their magic snow so the kids could keep it forever

* 12/3 The elves had discovered DS11's book of Pokemon cards, they were super excited about all of his "Christmas Cards" from his friends but thought the Pokemon needed some Merry Management because their cards didn't seem very holiday at all.

*12/4 The elves wrote a very long scavanger hunt/riddle for the kids to set out on the next morning, starting with a candy cane hunt at our community center, then to Lowes to build wooden gingerbread houses, then to Home Depot to build wagons and back home to build real gingerbread houses

* 12/5 They set up a candy cane race track in our living room and raced eachother in the wagons the kids had made at Home Depot the day before

* 12/6 They brought the kids a GIANT activity/coloring book, they colored a picture and told them to do the same to decorate the apartment

* 12/7 They got into the remaining candy canes from the candy cane hunt and ate almost all of them leaving the wrappers behind as evidence!

* 12/8 They brought the kids a new movie to enjoy on their snow day from school, Santa Buddies. They gathered up all the kids toy dogs to preview it with them, couldnt' find any popcorn so they enjoyed some candy bones they found in mom's closet while they watched the movie.


* 12/9 Last night our elves went on strike!

Tonight they will be bringing a bag of ingredients for holiday baking with my grandma this weekend :)

My Grandma doesn't have a big Christmas tree so I might use the awesome decorated ladder idea here!!

Kate woke up to cranky elf sitting on a light up rudolph and an advent calendar... she mentioned that it was "a little freaky" to wake up to a reindeer staring at her. :)

My DD4 has been sick since Monday, she spends 2-4 hours every night having coughing spells, so mommy has NOT been getting much sleep or time for Elf fun, took her in yesterday and she has an eye infection, ear infection, and bronchitis... she was up until 12:30 this morning... The elves decided they didnt want to do anything and stayed on Strike LOL

Our weekend at my grandma's was really fun, we made TONS of bake goods, and I do mean TONS, I thought we'd made about 17 dozen cookies but then when I was typing it out on my facebook page I realized it was more like 30 LOL 16 hours of rolling out cookie dough, cutting them out, baking them and a few other goodies :) 7 hours of decorating. Kids LOVED IT!

As for the elves... they made them selves right at home at Grams, and I must say Grams was ABSOLUTELY amazed at those three cute little guys full of mischief, she kept saying things like where ever did you, and the kids would say Grams the ELVES did it... LOL. She loved the decorated step ladder so much that she decided to put it on the end table in front of her window where she normally displays a very small Christmas tree, so she can enjoy it through the holidays. SOOOO glad I found this thread before going there!

DAY 12

Friday The elves went with us for our anual baking weekend at Great Grams. They were devistated when we got there and she did NOT have a single Christmas decoration up. They searched high and low for her Christmas tree, and finally decided there was too much stuff that they'd NEVER find a tree. Instead they brought up a little step ladder from the basement and did their best to decorate it to look just LIKE a tree!

DAY 13

SATURDAY Skeeter, Elvin and Trixie spent all day watching Grams and Zack play cards while mom, PD and L cut out cookies and baked them. They decided to try their hands at a game after everyone went to bed

DAY 14

Skeeter, Elvin & Trixie brought the kids new tooth brushes since they had a pretty high sugar intake with all the cookies and frosting they sampled, they wanted to make sure the kids teeth stay clean and bright :)

Well, the cinnamon rolls were delayed... DS9 was up and atom today... any other day is takes a few extra minutes....
Today, I'm sitting out all my sn*wmen decorations in the dining room & the elves will hide among them, this will be a very easy task!!! I have a ton of sn*wmen to set up.

oooh those bad elves! I leave to go grocery shopping and what do they do? they "wrapped" kate's bed, pillow and computer in wrapping paper and tp'd her room.... she won't be pleased when she gets home from school this afternoon.... at least they left her an i tunes gc eh? :)

Today was a panty/boxer raid... The goofy elves got themselves stuck on the ceiling fan in the boxers/panties...

My DS9 had a fit! He was shocked.... He found cracker crumbs on the floor leading to the ceiling fan area... looked up all dazed and confused and was laughing hysterically at the scene.....

Gamma and Sirius had wrapped up the boys' books for school.

:rolleyes1 My Eldest should have been a blonde. He gets to school, looks inside and sees the wrapping paper and thinks he doesn't have his books. :rotfl2: He comes home and wants to know what I did with his stuff and who do these presents belong too. :rotfl2: I told him to read the tags. They got your name on them.


Little Bit saw his "presents" before he left for school. He too didn't get it at first. He's like :eek: Whoa there, what are these. :rotfl2: His little face fell when he saw they were just his books.


Guess Gamma is going to have to break out the white chocolate snowmen tonight to make up for it.


We won't be bringing Gamma and Sirius to the ILs house. They won't appreciate the mischief and I don't want to just doing boring stuff there.

We woke up this morning to the 9 reindeer harnessed (sp) together and the elves were all in a new wooden sleigh! It's still sitting in the middle of the floor... it looks so cute and all 5 elves fit in comfortably!!

Tonight they are tp'ing the bathroom, green toliet water and writing on the mirror.. crush, need to ck that dry erase marker will work on that....

Our elves are 1/2 packed... we are getting photos again tonight... The reindeer are being fed one more time for their return home!!! The elves are having Christmas Eve dinner with us.. .which reminds me.. I need to get in gear and get the side dishes going!

just updated my notebook with different categories:

elf mischief, elf idea websites, elf crafts, and then the random letters that santa send.

now I just need to print all the pages out and put them in the notebook. :)

I just used a cereal box (to make a cover) and then bought page protectors and 3 ring binder rings to hold everything together. cut the cereal box up to get 2 covers (front/back) and then just covered that with xmas paper. a 3 ring binder would do the trick as well. :)
