BACK FROM WDW!!! 9/18-10/2, 2009 Update 10.7: Mini-Update

Hi all!

Well here I am sitting in our room at the Wilderness Lodge in love with this resort. They warned me on the WL FAQ thread and WL picture thread... I don't ever want to stay any where else. Even more, I don't know if I'd be happy with any other view than a "courtyard view".

Anyway, for those of you who have been following along with my PTR, you know the basics but for thos who haven't I'll have to give you a refresher course when we get back, or you can check out the PTR (link below) if you're impatient like I am :):

Where did you see that hippo underwater.

I liked the Wilderness Lodge when we checked it out, but the Lodge is a lot like the lodges around Wisconsin, if you can believe it. But I still think it is cool, to take the boat over to the MK.

Haha... I know what you mean. I live in Oregon so it honestly feels like home more than anything, perhaps that's why I like it. I was even just over at Timberline Lodge and ski area like 3 weeks ago and the street of the WL address is Timberline.

And for the hippo, he's at AK on the Panblahblah Trail... you know, the one with the gorrillas. Swimming with sharks (cue Jaws music).

ETA: Thank you. We are dealing with amazing weather and so far a wonderful time :)

Yay! I hope to see you as well. So far the weather have been great. We've been missing all the rain pretty much... once we saw the end of some kind of rain but had to have been light and short because we were only away for about 5 minutes. Another couple I ran into said they we're completely drenched during rainstorms at AK on 9/20. That's it, otherwise it's partly cloudy and hot and humid of course...

Oh I'm so jealous! We should have been there this week, but we moved our trip up to May, and I regret it every day. Can't wait to hear all about your trip and live vicariously through you!

Oh no... we have a set back.

So were prone to something going wrong on WDW trips. From tooth aches to getting some form of sickness, one of us always goes down. This time it's my mom. Getting off of a ride yesterday her knee really freaked out, it wasn't too bad but she still noticed the change... but it's bad now. Not go to the hospital bad but it's not good. And as you may have noticed, my mom is a big girl so it's pressure on a knee that really shouldn't be walked on :sad2: with added weight to it. So far she has decided she will not use a wheelchair but she'll only go to the parks for a few hours per day as well as the MNSSHP and EEC after party we already paid for.

For the most part, I'm on my own. :sad1:

It's not the end of the world, I'm an independent person but it sucks for her. I offered to pay for the wheelchair, or just stay in the room with her but she insisted I go. I guess that also explains why I'm here on the DIS so much :)

So there you have it, if you see me in the parks and it's not around any of our ADR times I'll probably be alone. :upsidedow

Changing the subject, question: do people really drink super hot coffee and hot chocolate. When I have refilled my mug with hot chocolate it has been seering hot... who drinks it that hot? Honestly. It's so annoying to wait 30 minutes before drinking my hot chocolate.

Today I met: Cinderella, Ariel in land form, Snow White, Belle, Aurora (awake version), Chip and Dale.

Tomorrow is: Chef Mickey's, back to Pop Century, Typhoon Lagoon and MNSSHP.

Food & Wine Festival News: OMG there are a bunch of new food-stufffs to sample. Maybe TL will be replaced by Epcot :) They also have weekly guides this year and more/nicer looking booths.

Oh yes, we had to cancel WCC tonight. My mom is just resting her legs and is icing them so I ran down to Roaring Fork and grabbed some sandwiches. They're very good.

Naw, that wasn't going to happen. Idk why but she won't do it. She was able to walk around enough and luckily we were there for 2 weeks to get a lot done...

She did however utilize wheelchair use at SLC when getting from gate to gate and I am glad she did, that is one long/hilly walk.

It did help. And icing it at night and in the morning did wonders. I could only imagine what it would have been like if she didn't.

The shot is of Illuminations from Pop Century. But you can also see Wishes from there too, it's nice when Wishes is at 9PM also because you get to see both at the same time.

Just a mini-update because I have to get my butt back to the gym right not :( ... you know when you haven't done something like that in so long, it's hard to get back into it. I promise I'll get this thing rockin' soon.

1. Not TR related but I'm trying to switch my January 17-22, 2010 trip to Jan 10-15 to avoid MLK crowds and see my friends on a mini-trip to Lake Tahoe Jan 16-18.

Howdy ADR buddy! I can't believe it's all over... :sad1:

I can't wait to hear all about it. We had a great time, but the heat kind of spoiled things just a tiny bit... I'm a realy whimp in the heat... and they delivered record highs.... but it was still a great trip full of much magic. I hope the same was true for you!
