My best friend is a MAC user. I want to get her a basic start for digital scrapping. She is a traditional scrapper, but is pressed for time and I think digital would be great for her. What can I get that will work with MACs? Any suggestions for basic kits or starter packs?

Thanks! :hippie:

I was always a "windows" user, had my IBM PC from the 80's (I'm dating myself now huh?). Anyway I used PSE on my XP, then my Vista and now.... I turned, I'm a Mac user now since about March. I use PSE 6. I love it and it is so much faster on my Mac. Fonts are so much easier to manage too! I would recommend you suggest some fast tutorials, just so you can understand fonts, clipping, and blending. Then of course actions and styles. Soon she'll be hooked like the rest of us!

Did you previous files convert from Vista to the Mac or did you run into some problems there? I am considering converting to a Mac, but have tons of digital scrapbooking layouts and kits and didn't know if I would still be able to use them??? :confused3

As long as you're still using psd, png and jpeg files you should be ok. i did have to buy the latest PSE 6 for Mac though. At first I shared a hard drive between the two systems, but eventually I just loaded the files to the Mac to make it faster. Your other option, which I did at one point was to use Boot Camp, with XP operating system (i really dislike Vista) where I loaded my old windows PSE.
