Bought DD a secondhand ibook G4 but having huge problems connecting to internet. We use Orange broadband plus a livebox for our main computer and laptop but after almost 2 hours on the phone to Orange support - they decided they could not help. We have been with Orange for years but have had recent service issues and DD wants ot use the new computer for her schoolwork.

Seriuosly considering switching to another broadband provider to include our landline also - but which one is going to be best for us? Would hate to switch and then have the same problem with someone else.

DH has a Mac Mini and I have a MacBook and we use Sky Broadband. Never had an issue and we get fast and reliable service.

I use a Macbook and I also have an iBook; both work fine with my broadband provider, which is Sky. Having said that, I take it everywhere and connect onto other providers without a problem.

Thanks

We are in the process of switching to Sky - we were going to anyway for their HD service but have signed up for the whole package now.

As the person who sold the computer to us has left their personal details on, DH has made an appointment tomorrow night at the Apple Store at the Trafford Centre for someone to go through a few things with him. Tried to go yesterday but they work on an appointment only basis apparently.
