Persevere, persevere and more! I needed tickets to fly out west, and they were HORRIBLE, and everyday without fail I would jump to the sites looking for something, when lo and behold the day before the 4th of July THERE they were, staring at me! Within 24 hours they were right back up there, high as could be. It really is a fulltime job hunting them down, but sometimes well worth the effort.

Ned Land ,

Just checked Travelocity, you can go from Pittsburgh to Orlando for $168. You should also check AirTran, out of Akron, They have an early morning, direct for $176 each, the return is at night around 7:30 pm. Also you can check flying into Tampa also, itis only a little over an hr to Disney from there.

I just booked a flight from Chicago to Orlando for $196 and the rate dropped from $246 within a half hour of me first checking it!!! Keep watching and I would check every day and several times a day. That's what I've been doing (my dh also had a voucher to get used for $71 so my flight is like $125)

Ok oh wise air travelers ;) I am sitting on the edge of my seat still needing 16 tickets for Dec 13-21! Are you checking each individual airline daily, etc. or are you just going into Orbitx, Expedia and Travelocity? I ck several daily and have signed up for several emails and am not seeing anything affordable : (

genealle: Depending on the type of car you need Avis is offering some @ $30. daily w/ the code: J945605 . Mini vans are just $49.99 daily.

Don't know if this works for everyone, but it works for me. I usually log into Travelocity or Expedia to see what fares are showing up for the city I'm seeking to visit, and then after seeing what they are showing, dates/fares/times etc., then I swing over to the specific airline website to further investigate or book.

I've found that even when Delta shows up on Travelocity at a good fare, if you go to their site, it is even a few dollars less. Just my own experience...not saying this is always the case. This just happened for me the day before the 4th of July when I "lucked" into an excellent fare from my city to the west coast. After spotting it on Travelocity, I went over to the airlines own website and saved about $8 more on each ticket from what Travelocity was showing. Again, just my own experience.

Good luck....

mickey4ver,

That is exactly correct, I always do the same.;)

4nana,
You may have a very tough time getting that many(16) at a cheap fare on any airline. They only allow a certain number of seats at a lower price:( Good luck in your search.
