Oh I will have to go back and read some of your old tr's! I hope you have one from then!!

And I was looking into that time frame...I'll let you know!!

Yep, my first TR is from our WL stay. It is the one titled "Our Funfilled Action-Packed Trip Over the Fourth of July".

See, I want a new one this year. I've had mine for like nine years, it's a 6 1/2 foot prelit. But I want one that is at least a foot taller. And I'm with you - Christmas goes by way too fast! You need time to enjoy all of the pretty lights and decorations. I bet Landon LOVES the tree! :littleangel:

I think ours is 7 1/2 feet! I believe they got it from Walmart. They actually went to Home Depot first because of a good sale but hated that tree and loved the one at walmart! Its prelit!! I love it! We've never had one of those before!! Landon really does love it! I'll post pics in the next post! ;)

I'm so excited you're planning on WL!! It's going to be so great! And I think you should go for the shorter Dream cruise. It just sounds so great! :thumbsup2

Thanks! I just love the WL!! We didn't actually go there even though we were on the campgrounds!! Oh well...I'm super excited!!

Okay, here is another picture of Landon from his birthday weekend!! I just wanted to post it because I think he looks so adorabe in his little hat that someone gave him! He loves it too! Sometimes he brings it to me to put on him! It says "Future Bronco" on it! :goodvibes

Now here is Landon looking at our tree! He was just in awe!

Everytime sports are on, especially football, Landon just stands there and watches!! (He also claps and says "woooooo!")

Here's a picture to show my Mickey wreath! I got it last January when it was on sale at the Disney outlet online store!! I've been waiting to put it up for so long!

Landon also got a new wintery cup! Its a penguin witha scarf! I love penguins! He was just watching football and drinking his juice!

Super cute pics of Landon, Kimmy! And that tree is SO PRETTY...I know exactly what you mean about wanting those decorations to go up sooner rather than later - I wrapped all my gifts this weekend and my tree is going up next week! :cool1:

Here is my 2 cents on the cruises; if it were me, I would go on the shorter Dream cruise. I say this for 2 reason:

1) It's the new boat, with the new water coaster, it's new...etc. That alone makes me want to go on it, and now! :rotfl:
2) I would advise a shorter cruise first, just to make sure you like it and would be happy on a longer one. I was 99.9% sure that I would LOVE our cruise, and I did - so now I know that I would have a blast on a 7day cruise. Just an opinion. :goodvibes

Keep us posted on all of your plans! Take care,

Katie

That hat is too cute! We won't be talking to each other on Thanksgiving though...Giants/Broncos. :rotfl: I'm not even that big of a football fan but if I had to pick between my two local teams, I'd definitely take the Giants!

I like the Mickey wreath! I see Mickey & Minnie ornaments on your tree too. ;)

See, that's the tree that I want! Except with clear lights. I like the tall and skinny trees better than the wider ones. They take up less room!

Your tree is beautiful, and I love the Disney ornaments! Your Mickey wreath is really cute, too. I want to make one!!!! Probably harder than it looks, though.

And of course, Landon is just the cutest thing ever! How cute that he likes football! :goodvibes

Uh oh!! That's no good! I actually like the Giants...just now when they are playing the Broncos!! I was this close to being AT that game!! But instead, I'm going to our game this Sunday!

Oh and funny story...so the Giants won the Superbowl the following seasons after my brother and I were born! Then they won the Superbowl the year Landon was born!! So my family always jokes that they can't win anymore Superbowls anytime soon! :rotfl:

If you look closely, you'll see probably more than one Mickey and Minne, plus a bunch of princesses, Dumbo and also a Lion King one! :thumbsup2

I will have a whole Disney tree one day, you just wait! :lmao: My Mickey wreath was only $10!! I bet you could make it though!! It's so fun! Oh and I don't know if you can tell, but the angel we have is Tinkerbell!! She is hard to see because she's so low since she is HEAVY! Oh well!

Thanks...Landon is going to be such a big sports fan! Last night, during Monday Night Football, the showed the Browns quarterback wearing Browns stuff when he was like 4 and I was like "OMGoodness, thats going to be just like Landon!" :rotfl:

we were watching UP last night for the first time,a nd he was laying on the floor on his stomach chin resting on his hands, just stairing at it and not moving, it was great to watch.

but we only got half way through it so he is excited to watch the rest tonight

I think their latest superbowl victory was the best because no one thought they stood a chance against the Patriots. I don't think the Pats have quite been the same since that. :thumbsup2 I'll take no superbowl victories for the Giants for awhile in exchange for a Stanley Cup Championship for the Rangers! ;)

I have Lion King ornaments too! Simba and Nala! :)

You guys can win the Stanley Cup! I don't mind if the Av's don't! Can the Broncos win the Super Bowl then? (Because you know all the hockey and football teams are reading this thread and are going to go with what we say!) There was some big hockey convention thing here back in the day and so there is a picture in my 4th grade yearbook of me and my friends WITH the Stanley cup! I had on these sweet (and by sweet, I mean huge) glasses and a SUPER sparkly shirt! :rotfl:

Aw Lion King ornaments are the best!! I just love Disney Christmas stuff!! Yesterday my mom and I saw these Mickey and Tigger advent Calenders that talked when you put this thing in that day! Like on the first, it'd be like "OH BOY!! It's December! That means Christmas is going to be here soon!" It was so cute, the best one I've ever seen!

You probably had the hockey convention there cause the Avs won the Stanley Cup twice in the past 10-15 years. I know they won in 1996 and I'm pretty sure they won in 2001. I used to love Joe Sakic.

Aw, that does sound really cute! I need to buy my mom some Disney christmas decorations. After our trip this year, I got her a Halloween decoration. It's an orange mickey head with a purple witch hat on and it has a little sign that ways 'The witch is in/out' :lmao: She loved it!

I know, he definitely looks more like a little boy instead of a 1 year old toddler! I love it though!! So cute!!

Landon sometimes touches the ornaments. He's pretty good with it though! Our main problem is the dang kitten who climbs up it and knocks everything off! It's a nightmare!! So I know its not Disney, but who was at the midnight showing of New Moon last night?! I hope someone was because I'd love to discuss it with you guys! (in top secret white font, so no one can read who doesn't want to!!) I loved it! It was great!! I actually went and saw the first one in the theater first and then the new one was next!! I'm super tired now!!

Anywho...I have some bad news guys and I could really use some prayers.

I work as a receptionist in the car business. I have worked at the same company for over 2 1/2 years. I have survived 2 rounds of layoffs already, the second as recently as June when Chrysler was shutting down all those stores. Luckily, I have just been transferred usually, but this time is a little scary! They're running out of places to be able to transfer me!! They announced yesterday that the store I work out now would be closing on December 4th. I have heard nothing about whether I will still have a job or not, but that they were going to "re-interview" which is kind of scary since they've never done that before and I've been through this with them before. So please, just keep me and Landon in your prayers. I am probably going to start looking else where since I have no promises about a job, but if they want to keep me here, well then I will just compare what I've found with staying. Landon and I would suffer a lot financially if I made any less than I do now. So just please keep us in your prayers!

Aw, Mel!! Thanks so much!! You are so right...its just such a frustrating thing!! I worry about me and Landon first of course, but its also really hard on me mentally...I have worked here for so long and am so close to so many people and even know their families and children and everything and its hard to see them worry too and know that at least some of us will be out of a job right before Christmas. Aw thanks Connie!!
But I need to do a little more explaining...its not really my employer. (And wasn't the last time in June either.) With GM and Chrysler both going bankrupt this year, they have decided to close a bunch of stores. The reasons why they closed specific stores are really unknown. Some say its a political thing, others say its based on how much is sold, etc. Based on my very limited knowledge, I think its a combo of the two. However, I do know, especially with this store, they really tried to fight it. They even were sending out emails urging us to write letters to our senators to reverse the order to close it and stuff not too long ago.
but, even though its not my employer directly, why do people still do it around the holidays? Isn't it sad? It's like its easy for them since they are so "high up" in the corporate world they just disconnect themselves and believe a bunch of robots without families or children work for them or something. :sad2:

I know it is bound to be hard on you. Even though we are comforted by knowing that HE will provide, we are still just human and we can't help but worry, about ourselves and our friends, as you mentioned. I will say a prayer for them, as well. I haven't had to go through that, myself, but I can imagine the toll it would take on us if it did happen, so my sympathies go out to all of you.

Chin up, Kimmy! HE may just work a miracle yet! I'll be praying for one.

Love ya!

Thanks!! Aw, isn't that penguin cup cute? I just love penguins!! And I'm glad you like his hat!! You all have to watch him when he is a Bronco!! And then they'll show that picture of him on ESPN :rotfl:

It is! Penguins are so cute :goodvibes
I'll be cheering for him when he's out there on the football field!

I didn't go see New Moon, but ALL my friends did, so it seemed like. I don't really like vampires, so I haven't read the books.

I'll definatly keep you guys in my prayers!

Let's talk about New Moon. And Taylor Lautner. I love me some Taylor. :rotfl:

I'm sorry to hear about your job! I will keep you guys in my thoughts, I really hope you can stay with the company and don't have to worry about finding a new job. I know what it's like, they've been laying people off around here like crazy and it's just stressful!

Aw, I'll be keeping you in my thoughts.

Thanks, girl!

That's terrible. :sad2: I will be keeping you and Landon in my thoughts.

Thanks!! We appreciate that!

I'll be thinking about you two and praying as well. And it's very smart of you to start looking, just in case. If you still have a job at the dealership - great; but if not, you're prepared.

     to you and Landon. Let me know if you need anything! :wizard:

Thanks! I found a few places I wouldn't mind...we'll see though! I'll keep you guys updated! Thanks so much!!

Love ya!
-Mel

Thanks! I'm glad you haven't had to go through this! I wouldn't wish it upon anyone!! Thanks for your words, Mel! It really means a lot to me!! Love ya too!

Haven't seen New Moon yet but I am hearing that it is so much better than Twilight so I am almost convinced that I should go see it in the theatres.

I can never be Team Jacob though, he was such a jerk in the books!

Kimmy your in my prayers! How true though the comment about another door opening... I was laid off while Logan was only 8 weeks old :confused3 and I was in a panic! I had NO money saved because I thought I was going back to work that day and they called and laid me off. I was able to draw unemployment making the same money!!:banana: I even just received an extension! So what I thought was the worst thing ever ended up actually being a blessing since I am able to spend Logans entire first year at home with him..something I never thought I would have gotten to do! So I will keep praying for you that it turns out as well for you!!

It is a million times better!! It is actually the ONLY movie I have ever liked just as much as the book, if not a little more!! I HATED Jacob in the books. I was all for Edward...but the movies made me think "Why do I have to pick a team?!" :rotfl:

Hey Kimmy...sorry I havent been around much lately... I think I'm all caught up now. Sorry to hear about your job. The auto business just plain sucks right now. My dad was a general manager for a Buick dealership and they laid him off. That was 2 years ago and he still cant find a job. He lives in MI and the economy is just a bottomless pit there right now.

Remember to keep an open mind when your looking and something will fall into place.

Hey!!

I hope everyone had a good weekend!! I'm just...ho-hum today. If you recall, I was at the Broncos game this weekend. And we lost. It's pretty depressing, seeing how I bleed orange and blue and am not a fair-weather fan. If I have readers who aren't sports fans, I'll help you relate...its like going to Disney and having your favorite ride closed for refurb 4 vacations in a row!! (Since we lost 4 games!) You still love it...but it makes you want to cry!!

Okay...I'm done being dramatic!! And I'll have super cute pics of me and Landon in our Broncos gear tomorrow!!

How was everyone's weekend? Please share your plans for Thanksgiving too!! And tell me what you're thankful for!! I'll start...

Thanksgiving is Landon's first 2nd holiday!! Woohooo!! :woohoo: We're just going to enjoy dinner with my parents...I'm in charge of pies! And then we're watching the Giants vs Broncos football game!! (my deepest apologies to xoktenox and jenny105, we can't be friends that day!! :rotfl:) That's really all I can think of. Oh and for breakfast, we're attempting the re-create the breakfast pizza from Chef Mickey's! I found the recipe! :thumbsup2

On to the mushy stuff!

I'm thankful for Landon. I swear that I could not love him more and then I look at him and I fall in love five times more than I was a few seconds ago. The whole world could fall apart (aka I could probably lose my job and the Broncos could have a losing streak...) and Landon just makes everything okay and not seem so bad. I'm pretty lucky!

I'm thankful for the support of my parents and all my friends. I'm so grateful that I am finally able to have a good relationship with my parents and that they supported me with everything from day one. And my friends are just amazing. I may not see them as often as I would like, but I always know they are there and I'm just lucky for that. They may not be my flesh and blood, but they are my heart and soul. I don't know what I'd do without them.

I'm very thankful you guys, my friends on the Dis! I really feel so close to so many of you guys and all your words really get me through. I can't even describe how much you guys help me. I appreciate you all so much. I hope I can be there for you guys as much as you are there for me.

I'm thankful for some more "superficial" things, like the Broncos and Disney. To me, its not really about the football or the rides or anything. It's about enjoying those things with people I love and care about and making memories with them. That's what so special about it.

Oh you can have Jasper, if I can have Emmett!! YUM!!! I thought he was delicious!! Those 2 crack me up, especially at the end. I loved when Jasper was like "It'd be nice not wanting to kill you all the time!" And then how Emmett gave her a big hug!! I just love the other vampires too!

Those muscles were intense!! OH. MY. GOODNESS. I think I read he put on like TWENTY-SIX pounds of muscle mass! *drool* I loved him with his shirt off. As for Edward...his body looked bangin' under a nicely fitting shirt...but underneath it was all pasty and hairy...I wanted his shirt back on! :rotfl:

Thanks. Its pretty terrible. I hope he finds something. I was actually really good friends with the GM at the Dodge store and when they closed that one, they transferred him and then like a month later sold the store they transferred him to!! So they pretty much screwed him over. I see stuff like that and can't understand why anyone would want to be in this business!! I hope your dad finds something. Has he looked around in other places or does he just want to stay in MI? Man...this dang economy!!

Aw Kimmy! Such a sweet post! :goodvibes

I'm sorry your Broncos lost again :( That's never fun, but hey - maybe they'll beat the Giants?! Even though I know one of the Giants players, but still doesn't make me a Giants fan! Hahahahaha. I'm a total Cowboys fan all the way... born & raised. (With the Saints coming in a close 2nd...) Dad is from Texas and Mama is from the New Orleans area. And yesterday my Boys played the 1 team we despise the most... and YES, I know I live in the DC area. Hahahaha. BUT I CANT STAND THE SKINS! Yuuuuuck. :sad2:

Mmm, you're in charge of pies! How many are you making? (or buying...lol) I think for Thanksgiving we're just going to hang out here at home with the family. I'm excited to wake up and watch the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade and then eat some good home cookin'... Turkey, MASHED POTATOES<3, etc.

And PS; sorry that I haven't been around much on the trip report lately. We leave on Saturday to drive down to Disney and I have so much left to do to get ready!

Man...what is with our qb's? :sad2: SO disappointing!! Apparently with the Broncos qb's, an injury (even if it was how many years ago? *cough*simms*cough) REALLY screws with your football abilities. Its really painful after seeing how well we played at first. The Broncos are now the team everyone thought they would be after showing that they did have it in them. It makes it that much worse.

Anyone who hasn't seen New Moon but wants to DON'T READ!

I liked how they brought the book to life. I think they did a really good job portraying the relationship between Bella and Jacob. I didn't like the part after she goes to the movies with Jessica (she CRACKED me up, the girl that plays her is great!) and gets on the motorcycle with some random dude. That seemed very un-Bella. And the guy just dropped her off, just like that? I don't think so.

I thought Taylor Lautner did a good job with Jacob but at some parts, like when he got angry, I just didn't buy it. It seemed a little forced.

The guy that played Aro totally creeped me out. I thought he did a really good job. The fight scene was a little much but hey, it's the Twilight series.

I also liked that they worked in Harry's heart attack as having to do with Victoria rather than it just being some random thing that happens.

Aw man, thats hard!! I wish they wouldn't be biased because of that. I've known A LOT of younger GM's who leave way less than a couple years. My store used to go through them like crazy. Now we just have one who is never even here (he's at the bigger store that's staying open :sad2:). I'll keep your dad in my thoughts though!!

Thank you so much!! I sent my resume to a few places last night!! You're so sweet though!! I appreciate your kindness!

:faint::faint::faint::faint: No, that picture is absolutely not fair! I'm going to be coming back to your thread to look at these pictures periodically throughout the day. :rotfl:

I know...I keep going back and looking at them. I'm glad you quoted the whole thing with all the pictures...it was a delicious surprise!!

SO...if you go read Lynn's thread, all your comments are pretty much my exact same ones!! :rotfl: Especially the whole Bella getting on the motorcycle with the guy at the bar thing...um no!!

Jessica really is great. I love her comments in both movies.

Taylor did seem to force his anger sometimes...it wasn't too bad though. One of my favorite lines is from angry Jacob, when he was fighting with Alice..."Things could get VERY ugly!" :rotfl: It cracked me up how he said it!

I enjoyed the fight scene, and thought it added a good aspect to it, to show how hardcore the Volturi is. It kind of dragged out though. But the vision that Alice showed Aro was LAME!!! Like...seriously?

Hey Kimmy!
Somehow I missed that you're place of work is closing early December! I'm so sorry girl, I'm praying for you and Landon, this may be a blessing in disguise....hugs!!!!

Thinking of you!! Happy Thanksgiving (early) we leave tonight to PA.
Chat soon!

Aw, thank you!! I'll definitely keep you guys updated!! Have a fun and safe Thanksgiving!!

Oh and would you just look at the expression on her face?? Damn you, Kristen Stewart! :rotfl2:

I can think of some "colorful" words to describe her. :rotfl: Does she have to look so smug there?

I love the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader show! The one where they follow them through tryouts, etc right? One of my best friends just bought all 3 of their workout dvd's and she said they kicked butt! Now I want to go out and buy them!

Mmmm, pecan pie is my favorite! Pumpkin pie is delicious, too but I could eat a whole pecan pie by myself. YUMMMM!!!

I'll probably end up making a trip report.. I'll need a place for all those pictures I'll be taking. It'll be fun to re-live it all, too!

That's the show!! Isn't it great?! I loved it. I used to watch it when I was pregnant and my friends would make fun of me because of how much it made me cry! I'd cry when someone got cut or when they made it...it just made me so emotional! :rotfl: I'll have to look into their workout dvd's!!

You should definitely do a trip report!! I'd love to see it!!

I guess that's why we get along, Kimmy! :rotfl: Great minds think alike.

That was the exact line that I was thinking of when I typed that it seemed forced. That had me laughing too. If I were Alice, I would have been like 'Ha! Are you serious kid?' No love lost though. ;)

Oh yeah, that was totally lame. Vampires run through forests in slow motion together in pretty clothes? Ok.

She's totally giving a 'You know you wish you were me right now' look in that picture!

We really do think alike, especially if that Jacob line is the same one you were thinking of!! I love Alice, she is great. I love all the trash talking they do to each other. "Yeah, I'll be back as soon as you let the dog out." :rotfl:

Yeah, don't you know that vampires are even cheesier than Disney movies when they are in love?

Ok, so Jenny...you should ignore the next post! Its all about the Broncos lovin!! Haha, jk! But there will be some! Not going to lie, I'm scared for Thanksgiving but I'm SUPER excited!! It's going to be GREAT!!

YAY!! So I have a ton of pictures to share! Some of just Landon, some from when I went to the Broncos game on Sunday.

Here is Landon observing his new toothbrush right before we brushed his teeth for the first time!!
http://i520.photobucket.com/albums/w322/momma_kimmy/Landon/one%20year/P1030981.jpg
He did great!

I never recycle my 3D glasses from movies such as a Christmas Carol and Toy Story, because I know Landon likes to play with them. Usually he just carries them around. But this past weekend, he found them and was trying to put them on and then handed them to me. I put them on him and he ran to show them off to my parents.
http://i520.photobucket.com/albums/w322/momma_kimmy/Landon/one%20year/P1030992.jpg

It was hard to capture a picture of him wearing them!
http://i520.photobucket.com/albums/w322/momma_kimmy/Landon/one%20year/P1030996.jpg

Then, he did the same thing with a Santa hat!!
http://i520.photobucket.com/albums/w322/momma_kimmy/Landon/one%20year/P1030997.jpg

Of course, he had to stop and watch football.
http://i520.photobucket.com/albums/w322/momma_kimmy/Landon/one%20year/P1030999.jpg

Now GAME DAY pictures!!
I had nosebleed seats, unfortunately, but they had a great view and were right on the 50 yard line.

This is for Lynn:

YAY!! Love him!

And the "must-take" picture of our stadium!

Then finally, me and Landon all decked out in our Broncos gear!!

Kimmy!!!! You took great pics. Looks like you had awesome seats. That stadium is gorgeous! My parents visted my Uncle who lived in Colorado and he took them to the stadium. The pictures they took were so nice.

Love the pic of you and Landon.

Sorry, we love the Broncos. I don't know if you read me talking earlier about it with Jenny105, but the Giants won the SuperBowls the season before my brother and I were born, and then the season after Landon was born! We have a connection to them in my family! My dad actually used to be a huge fan! I will have to somehow get this picture I have of me from when I was Landon's age...its in a Giants cheerleader outfit! :rotfl: Of course, that was my dad's choice. I wish he had put me in some orange and blue!! I was too young to protest! :rolleyes1 (And don't say anything about Landon being too young to protest :rotfl2: He was born to be a Broncos fan! They won the night he was born!)

Kimmy--I'll be keeping you & Landon in my thoughts & prayers!

I hope you guys had a Happy Thanksgiving...go Broncos, right?!?!

How's your photobucket? I'm ready for some more of your Disney pictures. Not to mean I don't like those Bronco shots! That looks like a really nice stadium and so much fun. I've never been to an NFL game! Landon is so cute!

Well, I did it. I started a PTR tonight. Saturday is our 180 day mark! :cool1:

:goodvibes

Still haven't seen New Moon, and I won't I'm sure until it comes out on DVD, :sad1:, but I'm so glad to hear it's better than Twilight. I loved loved loved the books, and didn't see the movie until after I'd read them all, but the movie was just not good. If I hadn't read the books I'd have never understood what all the fuss was about. :rotfl:

Are you going shopping tomorrow? I don't usually, but I'm thinking about going with Allison...we'll see! :lmao:

Hey!! Thanks!! Go Broncos is right!! That game was so awesome!! I'm still all excited!!

Oh man! I keep forgetting that I still technically have the last day of my tr!! I honestly only have one picture from that day though, I know that much. I'll have to post it though. I have to do it with pics of my souvienirs and stuff so there's more pics in it!!

NFL games are so fun!! I've been to 2 regular season and 1 pre-season one. I love it. I'm sure you would too!! The energy is just so great!!

I went over to your ptr!! That's so exciting!! I can't believe your 181 days away!! (Tomorrow you can make adr's right?! :woohoo:)

Honestly, New Moon is pretty much the only time I've liked the movie as much as the book! And, I feel like I can make a pretty good comparison since I read New Moon the day before I saw the movie!! (Which just goes to tell you how slow my job is ).

I can't wait to hear if you went shopping on Black Friday! I unfortunately could not...I still had to go into work!! :sad2: I might do something after work though. I'm not sure if I'll go shopping or just take Landon to get his hair cut!! He needs it really bad again!

Yup, they won the Cup. I always liked Sakic but hated Roy and Forsberg!

I didn't even watch the game lol. I watched most of the Packers game and the Cowboys (my SIL likes them) and we had football on all day. Then when it was time for the Giants my mom decided she wanted to watch Survivor. :rotfl: My Thanksgiving was ok. I played with my nephews for most of it. My aunt just passed very recently (on Tuesday) and my cousin 2 months prior to this so everyone was kind of sad.

Hey, my name is Katie and I have to tell you how much of a help your post trip report has been. I am taking my son, who will turn 10 months during our vacation, along with his dad, my mom, and brother. I have been so many times before but never with a baby, none the less, my own baby. And although I have been WAY over excited there was still a part of me that was SO nervous about taking a baby to Disney. You're trip has helped calm my nerves a lot! And I must admit, I am totally stealing one of your ideas, and will be taking my son to get his first hair cut on main street.

I'm 21 so unlike a LARGE majority of people on here I'm a pretty young mom like you, which made your post that much more helpful

I was wondering if you took him on a couple rides and what his reaction was (Pirates of the caribbean and haunted mansion to begin with)

Also, was there anything you didn't pack that you wish you had, any rides you wish you took him on that you didn't get the chance to?

Thanks!

Hi Katie!! Thanks for reading!! You will have so much fun taking your son at this age!!

I personally think at this age, they are too young to really be so afraid of the characters they stay scared. At first its kinda scary how big they are but they can warm up to them easily!! That's what Landon did anyway and it just makes sense for their age. So take ease your son into the characters at first if you want to meet them!!

I took Landon on pretty much every ride that doesn't have a height restriction. There are tons in like Fantasyland. I think the only times we had problems with rides were because Landon was tired and that's what made him fussy. I don't think he was afraid or anything. Those ones were Peter Pan's Flight and Pirates. They were also darker rides though, so maybe he was scared a little too? I'm not sure. I know some of the explosions in Pirates scared him but then we got stuck and he kept getting so close to falling asleep on the ride but then something else would explode. Pooh is very good because of all the colors. Also, one of Landon's favorites was definitely It's a Small World. I'm sure your son will love it too, it just has so much stuff to stimulate baby's senses in just the right amount! Then Landon fell asleep on the safari (I think it may have rocked him to sleep!) and also on Spaceship: Earth. (I'm starting to see a trend...I wonder if I for some reason tried to drag Landon on to rides when he was tired? :confused3 I didn't even realize until now!)

Also, can your son walk? Or is he crawling at least? I just know that Landon didn't like being stuck in his stroller all day. Sometimes we would find little areas (like the eating area in The Land Pavilion at Epcot or various other places) and we'd just let him out and he'd run around. He loved being able to stretch his legs and it was probably really his favorite part! He'd just go nuts getting all his energy out. So just keep that in mind...I think any baby on the move would like time to move around!! Can you imagine just sitting in a stroller all day? I would hate it!!

When are you going?

When are you going?

We leave this friday around 2:30ish in the afternoon and I can't wait. I've been living and breathing these discussion boards the past few days because it makes it feel so much closer lol

Conner is not walking yet, at least not alone, but he is exactly how you describe your son; he hates sitting in the stroller for long periods of time. And I definitely can't blame him, it doesnt sound like fun to me either. So with that being said, I will definitely keep what you said in mind about letting him out to move frequently throughout the day.

I definitely plan to take him on EVERY ride without a height restriction. I feel like at this age, they are more likely to just take everything in because they don't grasp the concept of something TRYING to scare them. I was just curious of how Landon reacted to rides like pirates because it is definitely loud and there is that little drop. Either way I'm definitely taking him on it, hope that doesnt make me mean :confused3

You planned your vacation exactly the way mine has been planned, all the way down to getting our 10 month olds character autographs. I'm just happy theres one other person out there that shares my obsession and doesnt think its odd to get a baby autographs lol
I'm not sure how well Conner will sleep on rides, I would honestly consider yourself lucky that Landon slept instead of squirming and crying (as I expect Conner to do)

Have you made any plans to take Landon back yet?

I think I start obsessing about food more the closer it gets to lunch time. I've been looking at menus and have the food porn thread open...:confused3 Can't help it!! Anyway...here is what I am thinking:

Arrive whenever...depends on when we can get a plane.
We would eat dinner this night...either at a signature restaurant (Artist Point, Narcoossee's and California Grill are our options) or at Captain's Grill--loved those crab legs!!
**OK, please keep this day in mind. Whether its a signature restaurant or CG depends on something on the day we leave that I want y'alls opinion on!!**

On our MK day, we'd have another early breakfast at Crystal Palace and then lunch at The Plaza!! We would hop on the monorail over to 'Ohanas for dinner! MMMMM!!

For our Epcot day--which you all know my mother is protesting--we would have Kona for breakfast (since I do not plan on getting to Epcot on time), Wolfgang Puck for lunch (or a Epcot CS if we were still there and hungry...), and then ESPN Club for dinner. Of course, this will have to syncronize with football somehow, preferably a Broncos game, otherwise I may opt for Big River Grill.

On our AK day, we would fill up on breakfast at TH, snack throughout the day for lunch (remember we will have 63 credits for pretty much 6 days...) and then go to Mickey's Backyard BBQ or the luau.

For DHS day, breakfast would be at Hollywood & Vine (mostly so we could get into the park before rope drop!) and then lunch at 50's Primetime. Dinner would be at the backyard BBQ or luau--whichever we didn't the previous night.

For Sea World day, we will probably shoot for the Ohanas character breakfast. We may end up picking something up from the food court, it just depends on time. Obviously, we can't use the dining plan at SW, so we'll pay for something OOP there. Dinner will be at Whispering Canyon Cafe since we skipped that last time!!

Our last full day, we won't go into the parks until the evening for MVMCP. (Much like we did this year for the halloween party.) I'm thinking breakfast at Grand Floridan Cafe...it may just be at a food court though. Lunch will be at Beaches and Cream...helloooooo ice cream!! Then dinner will be at Tony's and I'll do my best to make sure we don't eat to close to dinner so we won't want to skip it this time!!

So that brings us to leaving day...now, depending on what we do our first night, we will either have ONE credit left or TWO. If it is just one, we'll probably have breakfast at Chef Mickey's and get lunch at the airport. Now if its two (and also depending on when our flight it...), I was thinking adding an extra park day and going to Cinderella's Royal Table for breakfast!! What do you guys think?? I think that would be great, but I think it hugely depends on when we leave. I would not add an extra park day to go to breakfast and then have to go to the airport. But this year, our plane left late enough that we could've had a half day in the park.

Let me know what you guys think about everything!!

I'm going to have to post a ton of pictures and everything so you know how MVMCP is with a toddler! If you do decide to go to CRT, definitely go during breakfast or lunch. I have been for lunch and dinner, and honestly the only reason you go there is for the fun of it.. While the characters are awesome and kids love it, the food is SO disappointing for dinner.
I also saw taht you were going to try beaches and cream for lunch one day, they have a desert called "the kitchen sink", google pictures of it, its insane!

If you cant get into wolfgang puck, you should look into rainforest cafe, Landon would absolutely love it. there are animals that make noises and swing from the ceiling, and just a ton of stuff to keep him occupied. I'm taking conner there on our last day, i'll take lots of pictures.

:woohoo:

go broncos boooo bears:sad2:

Sorry about your Bears!! I had a very good Thanksgiving though!!

Loved the pictures, Kimmy! Looks like I missed a lot while I was on my trip! Landon looks so cute in his Broncos outfit. He is just the most adorable little thing!!!

No problem!! You were where I wish I had been!! Gotta go catch up on your tr now!! Thanks!!

How fun!! I can't believe you leave so soon!! That's awesome!! Is Conner close to walking?? I would love it if Landon had taken his first steps in WDW, maybe Conner can!!

I don't think its mean that you want to take him on every ride!! I was the same!! My only advice is do it on Conner's time table. If I could go back, I wouldn't stick to my touring plan as much if it were Landon's nap time. I would've let him nap first and then rides later instead of the other way around!!

I can't wait to read your tr!!

About my job:

They sent me an email last week saying we would know if we had jobs by the 30th. No word yesterday, today HR talked to us and told us that they still didn't know but should know tomorrow. We close on Friday. So whatever. I'm clearly not pleased, but what can you do? I sent out my resume last week to some places and haven't heard anything so I don't really know. I'm not too optimistic at this point. I'll let you guys know again tomorrow.

Thank you everyone, you are all so sweet!!

I just got done talking to the hr lady. They are transferring me to another store. :woohoo: So that is GREAT, especially with the holidays coming up!! Everything is the exact same, just at a different building. (Which is only just across the parking lot, so I even have the same commute!)

However, if its not too much to ask...if you guys could still please keep me in your prayers. I have heard rumors of them selling and/or closing the store I am moving too. Of course, I have heard all sorts of rumors of that source since I've worked here (2 1/2 years), but I'm still scared because this year its actually come true. As you guys know, I already got transferred early this year, but a lot of people got transferred to another store which ended up being sold to another company like a month later. So I'm grateful that I do still have a job, but I'm still a little scared.

Thank you all so much. God really is great. I'm so glad that I have a job right now! I mean, I know if I couldn't afford presents since I still have stuff like car payments to make, Landon wouldn't have even noticed since he's so young. But I'm a mommy and I don't think any mommy would want to do that whether the child knew or not! So I'm just glad I won't have to be in that situation! Thank you for all of your support and kind words, I appreciate you all so, so much!

Hey guys! I've missed you all so much too!! But I'm back!! Hopefully for good. After much pleading and going to higher-up managers, the ban on my internet at work has been lifted!! :woohoo:

I'll post an update with pictures later!! Things have been good. Landon has been to meet Santa with Troy. I had the best time ever at my Broncos night thing. I don't think I have any Broncos fans followers, but for the record, I met Wesley Woodyard, Tony Scheffler, Ryan Harris, and Spencer Larsen. They are all very cute! ;)

Work at this other store has been good. A little boring without you guys though!! I've done a TON of reading. About 2000 pages spanned over 5 books. (The last 2 Twilight books, My Horizontal Life by Chelsea Handler, Dear John by Nicholas Sparks and part of Reagan: A Life in Letters...I like variety!)

Everything is just very good! I can't believe Christmas is a week from tomorrow!! Where does the time go? I hope you all are good!! I'll post pictures later. Now I've got to go get updated on all your tr's!! I'm so happy to be back!! I've missed you guys SOOOOO much!!

Oh I forgot something else that is new. I forgot it because it is small and trivial and not really important...but I'm super excited about it!!

I FINALLY got a new phone!! I had a Samsung Katalyst for almost 2 years and have just hated it. Its a slider phone that looked so worn (partially thanks to me dropping it all the time, partially thanks to Landon who likes to throw it ). Like seriously...pieces were chipped and you could lift up parts that you shouldn't be able to lift up. It looked pretty ghetto, not gonna lie!!

So the screen had started randomly going white and I'd have to turn it off and back on to be able to see again. That did not make for a happy Kimmy. So I took it into the t-mobile store and the dreamy salesmen sold me a new, hip, super cool phone. (had he not been so cute, I may have procrastinated getting it right then :rotfl2: but I really was in desperate need.) I got a Motorola Cliq. Its one of those 3G phones. It has a touch screen, but also slides up to reveal a full keyboard. It syncs my phonebook with all my friends on facebook and brings up their facebook picture when they call!! It has apps and can download songs for free and play music and its just amazing! I'm so happy.

And now I feel kind of like a loser because I realized I wrote more about this phone than about anything else new in my life. :rotfl: Don't judge me, I'm just excited!!

princess_momma
12-22-2009, 01:32 PM
Okay, so I am just researching, researching, researching for our trip next December!! Right now, the resort is COMPLETELY up in the air. We haven't even decided if we want to go value, mod, or deluxe yet!

I'm thinking if we go with value, we're going to go with Pop again. We all just loved it.

With mod, we would probably do Coronado Springs. Their pool is not only amazing, but their playground blows even the deluxe playgrounds out of the water! And while playgrounds weren't important this year, they probably will be by next December! ;) I also think my parents may be interested in a cabin at Fort Wilderness.

If we do go with Deluxe, its completely up in the air. They are all so great. I think our favorites are the Beach and Yacht Clubs, the Boardwalk, the Contemporary, and Wilderness Lodge. So, who knows?!

I think we may be leaning away from values because we would like some more room and also double sinks would be very nice!! It was so cluttered and all smashed into one place in Pop! But then again, the time we are wanting to spend at Pop PLUS deluxe dining costs LESS than staying in a deluxe, with no dining at all. So we will see. I also have to do research on codes they may have and/or renting DVC or something to drive the cost down.

As for dining, yesterday I was super bored at work and so I went through menus of all the restaurants I wanted and calculated what it would cost if we were to get everything the deluxe covers and all I did was meals, I didn't even account for the 2 snacks per person per day, and it was MORE than DOUBLE the cost of the DlxDP! But then I realized that if we weren't on the dining plan, we probably wouldn't eat like that. So I calculated as if we each would just get one entree and a dessert to split. Since a lot of places have fixed prices (all buffets and the luau, for example) the DlxDP cost about $300 more than if we were paying OOP and not getting everything it covered. So we talked and we all think it is a better deal to get the dining plan, since we seldom agree on desserts and liked being able to try new foods and really just liked not having to really even think about costs of food while we were gone. (Oh and PS I was bored enough that I also calculated the tips in and also added that to the DlxDP since its not included. I like to consider myself thorough!)

I've also been contemplating going on a trip without my parents before then. I just don't know when to go. So I'm going to go research that now!! (*cough*lauren_elizabeth*cough). Maybe I want to do a cruise though...Off to research! :surfweb: Wait, actually put this guy in front of a computer :hyper: hahaha thats more like it! :rotfl2:

December at Disney IS THE BEST! Seriously. The Christmas decorations are absolutely amazing at the parks and resorts and everything just seems extra magical - if that's even possible!

We totally love Pop, too! Definitely my favorite value as well! :thumbsup2

I've never been over to Coronado Springs, but when you mentioned the playground I had to go look it up and you're right - it's awesome! So is the pool!

If yall do deluxe, I say WILDERNESS LODGE. Especially at Christmas time. That whole cabin feel makes it so cozy. (Same with the Ft Wilderness Lodge cabins!) :goodvibes

I'm so hungry now reading about the dining plan! Hahahaha.

And girl, after you research let me know what you decide/come up with! A cruise would be SO MUCH FUN! I totally forgot about the Disney Cruises! Ahhhhh, this is making me want to go right now!

... off to do my own research! Haha! :woohoo:

And girl, after you research let me know what you decide/come up with! A cruise would be SO MUCH FUN! I totally forgot about the Disney Cruises! Ahhhhh, this is making me want to go right now!

... off to do my own research! Haha! :woohoo:

I can only imagine how much more magical it is during Christmastime! I can't wait to see it for myself in person! I just have a feeling that pictures don't do it justice!

I'll definitely keep you updated on the whole resort fiasco. Its so hard because you really can't go wrong staying on property!!

Okay, so I'll message you more later, but I'm like 90% sure I'm going to book a cruise for April. I have a best friend who lives in Dallas and both of our birthdays are in April so we are wanting to just go on a birthday cruise together! That's what I'm leaning towards!!

i will have a bunch of pics at FW for you too look at and take some of the cabins, it is a really fun place to stay

there are alot of activities for your little guy.

he would love the chip and dale sing along at night time.

Thanks, I am looking forward to seeing them!! I forgot all about the Chip and Dale sing along! You're right, Landon would LOVE that. He goes crazy for music!

You know my vote is Wilderness Lodge! But I've only stayed Saratoga Springs other than that, so I can't speak for the other resorts. But the Wilderness is so CHristmasy! I am still blown away by it, three-to four weeks later...

I knew you would say WL...that's definitely my vote. I'm sure I would instantly fall in love with it!!

Yay! I'm so glad your internet is back up at work. I know you were going insane without it!!! :headache: All of your research looks great--I'm sure whatever you decide will be awesome!!

I still want to see pics of your purse...and from today/this week!

I don't think I told you, but I got a new phone too--it's SO great to not have a crap phone. :thumbsup2

Have an INCREDIBLE Christmas!!!

Thanks!! You are right, it's so great to have internet back!! I'm getting so much research done!

Depending on when I get home tonight, I will try to remember to upload the pictures on my photobucket so I can put them on here! I keep forgetting. I should have time tonight though. :goodvibes

Ooooh what kind of phone did you get? Isn't it so fun to have a really nice phone? I love it!!

I hope you have an amazing Christmas too!!

I vote WL! It's gorgeous and I can only imagine how much more gorgeous it will be during Christmas time. Plus it's at the lower end of the spectrum price wise for the deluxe resorts. Ooh, ooh, can I book your trip for you?? :rotfl: I will gladly run some quotes! I have nothing to do tomorrow! lol

So I am OFFICIALLY taking a birthday cruise with my best friend, Laura.

At first, I was really set on taking Landon and we were all going to go on a Disney cruise. But right now, Landon is too young for the real kid's clubs and I just don't want to deal with booking stuff and paying for the younger kid's thing they have. It really just sounds like a pain to me and I'd feel so much less flexible and it'd just be stressful, which is like anti-cruise. A cruise is about relaxing!! Not to mention, we want to do a bunch of excursions and stuff and Landon would just make that difficult. So I've talked with my mom and she said she would watch Landon so I could go on my birthday cruise. :woohoo: (She had actually already previously agreed to watch him while I went down to Grand Junction for a long weekend in the summer but I cancelled that in favor of this! And I'll be paying her and then giving her a vacation from babysitting when I get back!) (I also hope you guys don't think I'm a bad mommy!)

So after it was decided that Landon wasn't going, I was still pretty set on my Disney cruise. But then I looked around and realized that a short Disney cruise with an inside stateroom is more expensive than longer cruises on other lines in rooms with balconies. I'd rather have a longer cruise with a view personally. (I feel like this post is going to make everyone hate me--No Landon and now no Disney!)

Right now, I've mostly been researching some of the main cruise lines (Princess, Royal Caribbean and Carnival) and am not sure where we will be going yet. There are just so many options. Nothing is set in stone quite yet but I think right now, the ones at the forefront are a Western Carnival cruise leaving from Miami stopping in Grand Caymen, Isla Roatan (Honduras), Belize and Cozumel with 2 days at sea. Or a Mexican Riveria (not sure which line) that stops in Cabo San Lucas, Mazatlan and Puerto Vallarta. (If you want to help me reseach, Jenny, go for it! I can give you my personal email! We're just looking for April 2010!)

Also...in case you guys need another reason to hate me ( I know you guys don't...at least I hope! ;)) I forgot to upload pictures again. Bad Kimmy!

Awesome Kimmy!!! :thumbsup2 I've never sailed with Princess but I have with RCCL and they are AMAZING. The ships are huge and beautiful and there is just so much to do onboard. I've never sailed with Carnival but I've heard that if you've cruised before, you'll be disappointed. Since I've sailed with DCL, RCCL, and NCL, I haven't been in a big rush to try them out! I'm excited for you! :yay:

And of course we don't think you're a bad mommy!!! That's nonsense!!

YAY!!! That is so, so exciting about the cruise! I think it'll be so great to go on a cruise just you and your best friend--and No, you're not a bad Mommy! Michael and I are already planning on leaving our kids (even though we don't have any yet!) with the grandparents every once in a while for a "just us" trip. And I'm totally with you in not sailing with DCL right now. We're waiting for kids for that too. It'll be more fun when Landon can enjoy it with you. I can't wait to hear what you decide! Have you checked out http://www.vacationstogo.com/? My aunt used them and got SUPER great rates! We're going to book through them when we go to Alaska. I'm excited for you!! Oh--and I have a blackberry and LOVE it! :thumbsup2

A birthday cruise! How exciting....I don't think you are a bad Momma, either. I've been to WDW without the kids & we take a trip once a year without them. You'll have a blast on the cruise and will get some relaxation, which will recharge your Momma batteries. Plus, Landon will have fun with his Grandparents! They'll love the time with him, too... And I have looked and Disney Cruises are expensive. I want to go on a cruise someday, so you'll have to tell us all about it! Hope you guys had a good Christmas!

Thanks. I am dying to go to the same ports you did...your pics are SO beautiful!! The Mexician Rivieria is cheaper for longer cruises and airline prices are better too. I am about to go catch up on your tr though and I am sure I will cry at the beautiful pics I won't be seeing in person. Not this time anyway. ;)

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU AND SWEET LANDON!! I can't wait to see photos. :santa:

I love my phone too...it already broke though!! Right now, it will turn off unless it is plugged in. It won't charge at all!! The battery symbol is just black with a question mark. I think its just a fluke somehow and not common. They are already sending a free replacement on its way though!!

And they had princesses come out and just wave. When we were there it was Tiana!!
http://i520.photobucket.com/albums/w322/momma_kimmy/Landon/one%20year/P1040382.jpg
Whose seen that movie so far? I just saw it and I really liked it!

We were like 2 rows back from the ice!! It was awesome!!
http://i520.photobucket.com/albums/w322/momma_kimmy/Landon/one%20year/P1040379.jpg

Mickey and Minnie had some car trouble!
http://i520.photobucket.com/albums/w322/momma_kimmy/Landon/one%20year/P1040386.jpg

Could Donald and Goofy help?

Nope, better call a tow truck!!
http://i520.photobucket.com/albums/w322/momma_kimmy/Landon/one%20year/P1040390.jpg

And you can't have Mater without Lightning McQueen!!

http://i520.photobucket.com/albums/w322/momma_kimmy/Landon/one%20year/P1040396.jpg

Next up...Ariel and Flounder!!
http://i520.photobucket.com/albums/w322/momma_kimmy/Landon/one%20year/P1040405.jpg

Uh oh...its Ursula!!!
http://i520.photobucket.com/albums/w322/momma_kimmy/Landon/one%20year/P1040411.jpg

As you know, Ariel thinks legs are better than her voice.

Finally, she can be a part of Prince Eric's world!
http://i520.photobucket.com/albums/w322/momma_kimmy/Landon/one%20year/P1040417.jpg

Up next, we went to the African savannah for some fun with Simba and Nala!!
http://i520.photobucket.com/albums/w322/momma_kimmy/Landon/one%20year/P1040421.jpg
http://i520.photobucket.com/albums/w322/momma_kimmy/Landon/one%20year/P1040433.jpg

Uh oh, its Scar and the Hyenas!!
http://i520.photobucket.com/albums/w322/momma_kimmy/Landon/one%20year/P1040440.jpg
The whole scene with the antelope was pretty cool. I couldn't get a good picture, but it looked like a really big herd stampede!! Each single skater had 3 antelope on them...on their head and each arm. It looked awesome.

Hakuna Matata!
http://i520.photobucket.com/albums/w322/momma_kimmy/Landon/one%20year/P1040450.jpg

Then Nala came and encouraged Simba to take his rightful place as King of Pride Rock! And they all lived happily ever after!
http://i520.photobucket.com/albums/w322/momma_kimmy/Landon/one%20year/P1040461.jpg

And this was Landon, the WHOLE time!!
http://i520.photobucket.com/albums/w322/momma_kimmy/Landon/one%20year/P1040472.jpg
MMMMM Chocolate milk!!

They spent the whole second half doing the Tinkerbell story (the same as the movie). I couldn't get any pictures, they were too fast. It was very, very chaotic with things falling over as the sprinting thistles messed everything up. It was pretty cool though.

Okay, Christmas pictures are supposed to be up next but I can't find them!! :confused3 I uploaded them to my photobucket the same time as the DOI pics so I don't know where they are! I will keep looking though!!

I love Belle's dress! I want one. Everytime we have Disney night here, I want to dress up as Belle or Snow White. We actually have one coming up in January...hmmm.

I saw Princess and the Frog a couple weeks ago! I loooooved it, it was great!!! Joe got the soundtrack and he's constantly singing that voodoo song. The one that's like 'he's got friends on the other side...' lol.

I'd like to see Disney on Ice! I think I'd like it.

I love Belle's dress too!! So amazing. I want a really good one...of all the princesses really. Go on ebay and look up a store for mom2rtk. She's on the Dis, but sells AMAZING dresses there. One day...I will have one. They're a couple hundred dollars though. But seriously, you will die with how amazing they are. I think some are even better than the ones they use in the parks!!

How funny that Joe is always singing that song! They definitely had some great music! Tiana's voice is amazing!!

You definitely should go to DOI!! They constantly have different shows rotating throughout the country. I've seen Princesses, Nemo, Incredibles Take Over Disneyland and Worlds of Fantasy. That's my problem. NKOTB tours and every arena near me and it's a safe bet to think that I'll be at every single one! They are going to bankrupt me if they tour this year. :rotfl:

No, I haven't looked yet. I use my home computer for facebook and that's it lol. I spend entirely too much time on that site!

Lately, it seems like a lot of people I wanted to see where going on tour everywhere but here! (Cheesy people...like BSpears and the Spice Girls :lmao:) and at first I was sad, but then grateful! Already there are some people I NEED to see coming here...better start saving. Its a shame because most concerts are very affordable...but only if you get crappy seats! :rotfl: Oh well...

Maybe I will send you her ebay name on FB so you look! :goodvibes

Yay!! I'm so glad you posted all of the pictures! I can't believe how close you were on DOI--yay for knowing people who can get good seats! :thumbsup2 Landon is just the cutest little boy ever--he just seems so content all the time! I'm excited for your cruise you're planning--I'm sure it'll be so great! :thumbsup2

I still have more pictures to put up! I feel so bad! I don't have the real Christmas ones or anything!! I better hurry.

And thanks, Landon is pretty much always content. I'm lucky to have such an easy baby!! My mom and I always joke that Landon's "bad" behavior is better than a lot of kids "good" behavior! :rotfl2: But we may be biased...

I'm posting more cruise stuff next!!

Ooooh DOI looks like it was a lot of fun!

Hey if chocolate milk kept him sitting and entertained..whatever works! :thumbsup2

It was fun!! I knew chocolate milk would do the trick during the show. It was before the show that was hard. He was running all over and then would get mad at me because I wouldn't let him climb on the ice! :rotfl:

Hey, Kimmy!

Hoping your day is going well for you. We're supposed to be getting some inclement snow weather, but so far only a few flakes. We close for bad weather, but it looks like we're here for the duration! I bet you have a lot of snow where you are, huh?

Thanks!! Last night was freezing and we got some snow. I thanked God that it was only the fluffy stuff and I just had to brush the snow off my car instead of scraping and scraping thick layers of ice off! My car said it was -2 when I left this morning!! The sun is out now, but its still only in the teens!! I hope you don't get anything too bad.

Okay...so all the snow we are getting here is making me crave my cruise SO BAD!!

First of all...does anyone have any really delicious healthy food recipes? And I mean REALLY delicious because I usually hate healthy food. Any workout tips would be great too. So I can get bikini body ready. Actually...I'm in the same boat as one of you! Jenny, I saw your facebook status and guess what? I have a food baby too!! :rotfl2: yeah...that needs to go!!

Secondly...the ports of call on the cruise we are most likely going on stops in Cabo, Mazatlan and Puerto Vallarta. Have any of you been to any of these places and have any things that I MUST do?

I think its in Puerto Vallarta, but I read about this place where you can zipline through the jungle and repel down waterfalls and stuff! Every port has something very similiar to this, but from reviews I've read, this one is above and beyond and the best. So I think we're going to do that!

Then, we also definitely want to swim with dolphins. I've think I've read one where you can swim with dolphins and also swim/interact with sea lions. If that was correct, I'd rather do one where we could do both, then just one. But I'd pick dolphins over sea lions!! And I definitely want to SWIM not just touch! :thumbsup2

Whichever port, we don't swim with dolphins in, I think we may just have a beach day. I want to do stuff like parasail and rent wave runners and just that kind of stuff. Of course, if we want to do more than that (or just have additional time and money ;)) then there are other things that sound fun. Like an ATV tour or whale watching (we'd be pushing it towards the end of the season for that though) or horseback riding on the beach or even a tequila factory tour! So who knows! What do you guys think?

Also, we will have TWO formal nights! :woohoo: If you couldn't guess by my princess status, I LOVE LOVE LOVE formal stuff! I always hated prom (or any school dances) but would ALWAYS get dressed up and go out anyway!! I just love dressing up! Maybe one of these nights, I will take pictures and show you my formal dress options. Of course, I'll have to establish myself as "the girl who always wears the tiara" before formal night, so people don't think I'm just a prom queen wanna-be!! :rotfl2:

Oh and I forgot!! Both Laura and I have never been to LA, which is where our port is!! So we are definitely planning on getting in as early as possible the day before and spending one night there and checking stuff out.

Since we have never been there, the only stuff we know to do is stuff that you could find on like top 10 things to do in LA lists--like Sunset Blvd and Hollywood Blvd and Rodeo Dr. I don't think we would have the time to do a theme park, even though I would love to. I would love Disneyland or even Universal or Magic Mountain (Six Flags). Has anyone been to the ones in LA? I kind of feel like even if we did do one of those, we would kind of miss the whole LA feel which is what we are going for! What do you guys think?

And do you guys have any specific things that are awesome there that we need to try? Otherwise, I feel like we will wander aimlessly around and not get the most out of it!! Kind of like going to WDW without research!! Blasphemy!! :rotfl: I think the only stop we are FOR SURE making at this point is Roscoe's Chicken and Waffles. :rotfl2: I just HAVE to go there. And I heard its really, really, REALLY good. I'll let you guys know. ;)

So any suggestions for that would be great too!! Thanks guys!

:rotfl2: We had a birthday luncheon for one of the girls in my office yesterday. There is SO MUCH FOOD. I must have gained 5 pounds between yesterday and today. I am stuffed!!!

I've never been to any of the ports you are traveling to or even LA. I think you should definitely make a stop in Disneyland. I really want to go there, just so I can compare! A word to the wise about swimming with the dolphins. I've never done it personally but from what I know, it's VERY expensive and you get a very short amount of time where you're actually swimming with the dolphins as opposed to getting briefed about safety precautions. That being said, if I had the $, I would love to do it!

That's too funny! I don't even have an excuse like that! I've just been enjoying lots of food lately! :rotfl2:

I really do want to go to Disneyland too!! I will have to compare prices and things of all the different theme parks too. I know we would love to go on the roller coasters at Magic Mountain, so we may go there instead. Sometime in the semi-distant future, I want to go on a big California trip but take Landon and go to Disneyland, Legoland, Knotts, Sea World, San Diego Zoo, etc. so I might save it for him! I'm not sure though!!

I know the dolphin things are expensive!! It's pretty much our only super "must-do" though! :rotfl2: The places I have been finding all say you get around 30 to 40 minutes in the water, which isn't much on a 3 hour thing. You are right that they'll spend like the whole time doing safety precautions. But I still think we will end up doing it, just for the memory.

YAY!!!! :woohoo: Which show is it?? Worlds of Fantasy is the one I just saw, and 100 Years is the one I'm going in March. I don't know if they have any others going around right now!! When is Joe's birthday? I bet he will love it!

I definitely want to do a California trip too but that requires me saving lots of money!!! The flights are expensive, I'd need a car, and we'd probably be staying in a bunch of different hotels all over the coast. Maybe in a couple of years!

It's the 100 Years of Magic show. His birthday is Jan 22 and the show is Jan 23rd. We're staying in Atlantic City the night of his birthday and I figured this way we'd have a weekend full of fun stuff to do. :) I managed to get a food voucher with the ticket too lol.

OMG, Kimmy! Your travel plans sound so fun - I'm so excited for you!

Now tell me again when the trip is???

Also, I was wondering do you like Chili and stuff? Because I made a vegetarian chili last night and it was soooo good. And very little fat and calories, too.

If you or anyone else is interested, let me know. I too am trying to lose some weight and I have just started the Special K challenge. When I was younger (early twenties) I got way little (too little, really) and I did it by eating cereal for breakfast and lunch and salad for dinner every night. I was strict on myself, though, and would allow myself NOTHING else. My treat every Friday was a Subway sandwich for dinner! But I wouldn't do that again because I love to eat way too much, though I am trying to do healthier recipes w/out sacrificing taste too much.

Ok so after every regular season game, an Old Chicago in my area hosts this thing called "Broncos Live!" and basically it has 2 players come on every week and talk about stuff and do a half hour show that airs on our local CBS station. This particular week, the Broncos website had said Brian Dawkins would be there which had be SO EXCITED and I promised pictures for Lynn (since he's a former Eagle, so he gets extra love since she loves the Eagles AND the Broncos! :thumbsup2). But then it wasn't him. :sad2:

However, it was Elvis Dumervil and I still have a lot of love for him!! He's pretty sensational and just all-around kicks butt. He led the NFL for sacks this season, with I think 17, and there would be times when we would play certain teams and he had more sacks than the whole other teams defensive combined! So, we love us some Dumervil here in Denver!!

Anyway, this night was Landon's first time on tv!! They don't talk to the audience or anything, but they do a lot of crowd scanning and stuff. Landon and I were in the opening shots clapping, and then also, when the camera was on a certain shot of Dumervil, we were in the perfect spot to be on camera! It was great. There's this part where I'm like staring at myself and realize I'm on and so I grab Landon and then just kiss him on the cheek. I'm such a goober sometimes!!

A big reason we got to be in the opening shots was because the people we sat with (who I had met a week before at another Broncos thing) go every week and are pretty good friends with the camera men! So we had gotten there early and got to know them a little too. One of them offered to let me take pictures of Landon with the cameras!!

Now for the long, overdue Christmas pictures!!

Here is Landon after seeing the presents for the first time! He was in such awe!! (Notice his crazy hair after just waking up!)

Opening some presents:
http://i520.photobucket.com/albums/w322/momma_kimmy/Landon/one%20year/P1040547.jpg

One of his presents was a book. He just LOVES books. He will bring me one and shove it in my face and then climb into my lap while we read it together. Its so cute.
http://i520.photobucket.com/albums/w322/momma_kimmy/Landon/one%20year/P1040550.jpg

"Oooooh look at the truck!"
http://i520.photobucket.com/albums/w322/momma_kimmy/Landon/one%20year/P1040551.jpg

He kept going back to the truck! He didn't like that it was in a box!
http://i520.photobucket.com/albums/w322/momma_kimmy/Landon/one%20year/P1040554.jpg

I would try to bring him back to my lap to open more presents and he'd just try to get back to his toys!!
http://i520.photobucket.com/albums/w322/momma_kimmy/Landon/one%20year/P1040558.jpg

He wanted it out of the box!
http://i520.photobucket.com/albums/w322/momma_kimmy/Landon/one%20year/P1040559.jpg

He LOVED playing in the wrapping paper, too.
http://i520.photobucket.com/albums/w322/momma_kimmy/Landon/one%20year/P1040563.jpg

Here is Landon playing with a truck he got. Sometimes he tries very hard to use this as a ride-on toy but he is just too big. Its pretty amusing to watch though. I don't know why he gets so determined to ride this one, because he has an actual ride-on toy that is the perfect size for him!
http://i520.photobucket.com/albums/w322/momma_kimmy/Landon/one%20year/P1040569.jpg

Landon got a football for Christmas, starting a Christmas tradition that I stole from the Broncos head coach!! :rotfl: I read an article about how he said he adn his brother would get a football every year for Christmas and stuff. It was really cute. It also talked about how he did NOT want to miss time with his kids on Christmas morning so it was the first year the Broncos had practice on Christmas afternoon instead of Christmas morning!! I really like him...a lot of people say that he should be fired because we didn't make the playoffs. It kinda irks me!! I think he did really good for his first year as a head coach!! Clearly, our team does need some improvements but I don't think he needs to be fired after just one year. I really like him. Hopefully next year is better though!! We could use another Super Bowl win!
http://i520.photobucket.com/albums/w322/momma_kimmy/Landon/one%20year/P1040575.jpg

Here he is with the ball popper thing. Basically, the balls popped out and then went down a track and popped out again. It was really cool and Landon absolutely LOVED it, but it seriously broke within 25 minutes of using it. Lame. It made him so sad which made me pretty mad...toys should NOT break and just stop working after not even a half hour of use!

He absolutely loved climbing on and off the waffles most. He really just had the best time running around so freely! He was cracking me up though because he was going around and waving to all the parents and would always try to go up to the ones with snacks. Then there was the time there were these 3 little girls, probably between the ages of 7 and 10 and they were all sitting on a waffle and Landon goes and sits right smack dab in front of them all and starts waving. My little ladies man!!

Thanks!! I'm very excited!! We are going most likely the end of April!! (I plan on booking last minute... I just don't have enough for the deposit now and so I'll probably pay it all off at once.)

Oh, you should post your chili recipe!! That sounds good!! I usually just eat hormel! I love homemade chili though!!

Does the Special K challenge incorporate all their different stuff? I know they have bars and yogurts and drinks too, don't they? I will have to do research on that!

There was a time in my life when I was WAY too skinny too. It was many years ago in middle school, but I was diagnosed with anorexia and had to go to clinics and therapists and stuff. But I have definitely learned there are ways to be healthy and stay thin without starving yourself! And now I really LOVE to eat too!! (If you don't remember all my deluxe dining plans and all that!)

My main problem since having a baby is my stomach. There's always a layer of fat there. I've heard that cardio is better than ab exercises to get rid of that and I think its true because I can feel my abs underneath it! of course, eating better will probably help too. I'm going to go research the Special K challenge!

First of all, ADORABLE pictures! That giant piece of bacon made me hungry lol. And look at all those Christmas presents!! He's so cute!!

If I went out to Cali, I'd want to do Disney, the LA sites, San Diego, and probably drive along to coast up to San Fran. I'd want the whole experience which means a whole lot of $$$. I should start saving up for that and maybe I can make it a reality in a couple years!

I promise to take lots of pictures! I'm better at posting things to facebook. My wifi is really quick about uploading pictures to that but not so much with photobucket. I tried the other night, it just wasn't happening.

I'm in such a great mood today. NKOTB just announced they're playing Radio City Music Hall in June! :yay::woohoo: LMAO. I'm such a nerd.

I know, I love the picture of Landon as a cameraman! I'm so lucky that the guy let us do that!! I never even asked either, he just offered!!

I get up extra early so I have time to prep myself just for the sole purpose of pictures! I didn't even leave the house on Christmas day, but I knew we'd be preserving memories so I had to get ready!! Haha!

I love the breakfast foods play area!! Its a great place. My only problem was some of the older kids playing. They were at least 10 but like sprinting through the whole area and jumping off stuff. I was scared they were going to take me out, let alone my sweet little one year old boy! Luckily, they were no bad accidents though! I was just scared the whole time!!

Thanks!! I know I could go for some bacon right now! A giant piece would be ideal. (But not as giant as in the pictures! :rotfl:)

Have you ever been to Cali at all? I would love to do a trip like the one you described. All I have really done is San Diego (went to the zoo, Legoland and Sea World) and then other parts that no one has ever heard of! I have family further north in a place called Turlock (near Modesto). Then my uncle who lives there also has a beach house in Carmel. There much smaller towns in Cali but still pretty beautiful. But I want to go to the places that Cali is known for really bad!!

Photobucket is such a pain! Mine is so unorganized too. I just hate it. (Of course, the unorganization is partially my fault, but PB makes it so hard to get organized!) I will keep my eyes peeled on FB then!

No, I have never been to Cali. The furthest point I've been outwest is Las Vegas. The airfare from here to Cali is killer, though I've only ever checked LA. I guess I could also check in San Diego and San Fran and work my way up or down the coast. I do so many of those trips for people that I eventually need to take one of my own. I really want to do the San Diego zoo and Sea World there, Disneyland, Laguna Beach haha, the LA sites: Beverly Hills, Hollywood, Santa Barbara, Santa Monica, Hearst Castle, Monterey. So many things!!! Kimmy lets take a two week trip out there together in a couple years! :rotfl:

April, wow! That will be here before you know it. And booking last minute is probably best anyways. I'll just bet you can get a better deal that way. So exciting!!! :woohoo:

The vegetarian chili is as follows: (it actually resembles more of a taco soup, but still delish either way)

One can of red beans
One can of chili beans
One can of Black Beans
One can of whole kernel corn
One can of tomato soup
One can of Chili Ready Tomatoes
One package of Chili Seasoning

Open all of your cans, pour into a large stock pot, mix in your chili seasoning, heat to boiling, stirring occasionally. The longer you let it simmer, the better it tastes.

You can eat this as is or serve it with baked tostados, light (or fat free) sour cream, and just a sprinkling of grated cheddar cheese. Not much, b/c cheese is fattening!

You don't even miss the meat. It is so yummy and healthy for you, too. And it serves a lot. We had it for dinner last night and will be having it again today. And the leftovers always taste better the next day! :thumbsup2

The Special K challenge does incorporate all of their other products. You can have either their cereal or waffles for breakfast with a serving of fruit. Then for lunch, you can have a protein bar, a protein shake, or another bowl of ceral. For snack, you can have one of their cereal bars or crackers, and you can eat fruit and veggies as you wish.

Then for dinner, you will eat as normal, except I'm going to cut back there, when I can. Easy!

I was not diagnosed as anorexic when I was going through my cereal/salad days, but I know I definitely was. I had gotten down to a size 0 and 1. Way too thin! I'm five foot six. I knew there was a problem one day when my boyfriend (now DH) tried to get me to take a bite of his brownie and I wouldn't do it. He tried to make me eat it and I broke down and cried b/c I didn't want to eat anything fattening. Then I began to see pictures of myself in my bathing suit and I was just nothing but skin and bones. I was actually able to help myself and not have to go for treatment, but that was definitely a rough time.

Now you can't get me to stop eating! Funny how that works. I'm just so grateful that I was able to get past that on my own. I know of so many who suffer from anorexia that have it so much worse than I did. I'm glad that you were also able to overcome it.

very good christmas pictures, the ball popper, parkers stopped pretty soon after he got it as well, and we found out it was the batties it came with were weak, we replaced those with new and it worked great again.

You should definitely look into other airports. I was actually checking the difference in prices between the airport in LA and the one in Long Beach which are actually really close to each other and sometimes the difference is only like $10, but other times its a couple hundred dollars!

We totally should take a 2 week trip out there!! My uncle would let us use his beach house too!! Carmel is right by Monterey. In fact, that's where we go when we are there if we want good groceries or to see a movie or something! So we could use that for the part we are up there! That would be SO fun!!

Mmmm that chili sounds so good!! I will have to make it soon! I bet even Landon would like it! I'll let you know if I try it!! ;)

Aren't you so glad you were able to help yourself? Really, treatment did nothing for me! It was so easy to lie to them and just be like "oh yeah, I realize my body image is unhealthy. I'll eat." I even had this CRAZY therapist who tried to get me to open up by playing games with me and she would talk about her other patients and how some of them would only allow themselves 3 grains of rice a day, or another just 2 crackers. I was like "how is this helping me? It seems like you are trying to just give me ideas!"

I'm glad we were both able to overcome it though. I really don't think it was "on our own". I guess the better term would be "without treatment". I think HE had a hand in it, whether we realized it or not. :goodvibes

Hmm thats odd! Was it the same one? (Could you tell from the picture?) Ours actually didn't come with batteries, and we got new ones and put them in. I wonder if we should just try new batteries again. I didn't think it would've ate them up that fast!

It is SO easy to make, too, and cheap. Just open up several cans, turn the stove on. And in just a little while, you've got a nice wintry meal.

I hope you try the recipe. Let me know what you think if you do!

And you are so right - your therapist totally sounded like she was giving you ideas. Wierd! Definitely HE had a hand in our recovery. I'm so glad that He did, too, because I was NOT happy during that time of my life. Even if I thought being thinner was what would make me happy, it quickly became something bigger than me. But HE is bigger than us all!

Wow! Sixty degrees for you! I figured you'd be in the negative degrees still and covered in snow! Our high yesterday was forty. It's forty-three today and we're supposed to get to fifty tomorrow. Last week we never made it out of the twenties, so this is nice! :thumbsup2

Hi Kimmy - I don't know if I've posted here before, but I've been reading for a little bit, linked over from someone else's TR, but can't remember who. :goodvibes

Anyways, we have that ball popper too, and it has been working fine for over a year, except when Alex puts cars in it , so you should definitely try new batteries then return it if it doesn't work.

Also, I used to travel to LA all of the time for business and have done a lot of the touristy things, so I would be happy to help out with any of your questions. Do you know yet which airport you are flying into? If it is LAX, I would very strongly caution you from staying at a cheap hotel near there, as it is not the best area. I have stayed at the hilton there, which is a very nice hotel and not a bad rate, but I would not walk around the neighborhood. Catch a cab at the hotel for anywhere you would want to go if you are not renting a car for the day.

My favorite touristy things in the LA area are:

Rodeo Drive - can't afford it, but still cool! :thumbsup2

Farmers Market/The Grove - This is so LA. The Farmers Market has tons of great places to eat and unique shopping. The Grove is an outdoor mall that is basically attached to the Farmers Market and also has some great places to eat. It's also very close to the CBS studios (walking distance), where I think they tape for The Price is Right.

Universal Studios City Walk - really cool place to be at night, great shopping, food & entertainment!

Hollywood - really, it's not that great. It's dirty, crowded, and not the greatest area. Very disappointed, it's not very much like DHS at all. :( But, there is a very nice mall now next to Grauman's Chinese theater AND a Disney Soda Shop across the street that can work for a quick Disney "fix." The mall is really nice, has lots of upscale stores and the crowd outside is really a freak show. I like when there's a Jack Sparrow look-a-like working out front. pirate:

Venice Beach - muscle beach - need I say more? ;)

Santa Monica Pier - This is one of my favorite areas, beachy, cool restaurants & shopping

Disneyland - Obviously, but it's really pretty far, especially from LA and I wouldn't go unless you have the time to spend there b/c you will feel cheated out of getting the whole experience. Though I have to admit, that after I have a bad day at work, I will make the 1.5-2 hour drive down there and just walk around Downtown Disney and the hotels for awhile. :goodvibes

Hmmm, that's all I can think of right now. Did I miss anything specific that you are interested in?

Oh, wow! Your cruise plans sound amazing! You're going to have a blast!!! :thumbsup2 As far as working out goes, I've started Pilates, and I can already tell a huge difference after just 4 workouts! I just bought a beginners Pilates DVD at Wal-Mart. I really like it...

And Landon's pictures are SOOO cute! Those camera shots are adorable. Did you ever end up putting the TV shots on a DVD? And his Christmas Morning hair is awesome! Messy hair is the greatest. Sorry the ball thing broke. That REALLY stinks! I guess yall don't have much luck with ball toys. And he's definitely your child if he loves books! :goodvibes

Everything sounds awesome--can't wait until you actually get to go on your cruise! Oh, and have you checked Vacations to Go? They have super cheap cruise prices! :thumbsup2

I will have to try new batteries! Thanks for the advice on that!

Thank you so much for your tips on LA. I wouldn't have ever considered the Grove at the Farmer's Market, but now I would like to see if we can squeeze that in. I think it would be fun if we tried to get on the Price is Right too! That would be AWESOME! I wonder if they will be taping then. I'll have to look.

I will have to look into all your other suggestions more too! I think one for sure we wanted was Rodeo Dr!

One big question I have is how close are things? Do you need to get a taxi for like everywhere? Because I looked on a fare calculator for there and its crazy expensive. I already know that it will be very expensive to get from LAX to the pier but that's okay. We were also considering maybe renting out a car w/ a driver for a couple of hours because that is honestly cheaper than a taxi!

Thanks! I'm SO excited for the cruise. I just looked up a website for a dolphin swim in one of the ports, and they're having a special where you can buy the dolphin swim and get the sea lion swim free! So I think we're going to do both! :woohoo:

I have heard good things about pilates but never tried it. Is it hard? I wonder if On Demand has good pilates work outs. Do you need any equipment to do it? One of the videos I've watched on OnDemand Exercise TV is the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders Boot Camp. It's pretty awesome. I did a 15 minute one for legs and I could barely walk the whole following weekend. I may appear to be "thin" but I am so out of shape!! I did go and use an elliptical last night in my apartment complex! Finally! Its the first time I've used it since I moved in October!

I don't really know how to get Landon's tv appearance on DVD! We have Comcast and my dad says we can't do it. Do you know any specific way we could make it be done? I would love to get it!

I will have to take new pictures for you...there is no more messy hair. Well kinda...but he FINALLY got a haircut. His 2nd! It's super cute!

I have checked Vacations to Go! That place is great!

Not very close at all. On the list I gave you, the 3 closest things are probably Rodeo Drive, to the Grove to Hollywood. The rest are pretty spread out. Cabs are expensive there. Could you rent a car for the day and return it to the airport before the cruise? That might be cheapest. But a cab or driver would give you the advantage of not getting lost or having to deal with LA traffic or winding up in East LA. :scared1: Actually, that reminds me of another cool thing about LA - all of the different ethnic neighborhoods - Chinatown, Koreatown, Little Japan, etc, etc. I even saw Little Ethiopia!

You do have to pay for parking almost everywhere in LA, which can add up. Parking at Rodeo is cheap in the garages, and you can get free parking at the Grove/Farmers Market if you get it validated at a store or restaurant (with purchase). Everywhere else is kind of pricey.

Decide which things you would be most interested in to see how much you can fit into a day, then which mode of transportation.

Okay...I just need to get this out of my system. I'm so annoyed right now and just got rubbed the wrong way and UGH!!!

So I'm a receptionist for a Ford car dealership. My company has two Ford locations. While we have local numbers to dial us directly, our commercials have 1-800 numbers. I'm not even sure what the 1-800 numbers are or if there are two and people call the wrong one, but I get TONS of calls for our other store because of this.

So this morning, this lady calls and asks for the other store. I transfer her. She calls back because she somehow got disconnected, so I apologize and transfer her again. Somehow she got disconnected again and calls back fuming. I apologize because I don't know what is going on and asks if she would like the number so she can try them herself. She just starts screaming at me about how she's been trying to call them and either I can transfer them or I can't, etc. I can't even get a word in. She is just not happy. I don't know...maybe she believes I just kept saying I would transfer her and hang up on her or something. But I couldn't even get a word in, she was just screaming beyond reason so I did actually hang up on her.

She calls back and asks for a manager. I get here at 7am because that's when parts and service opens and I have to answer their calls. None of them are managers and couldn't help her at all. The managers get in at 8:30am. The time this lady was calling was about 7:30am. I would gladly send psycho angry lady to them if they were in. I don't get in trouble for raging customers because my managers think I should be respected since I am polite to our customers. So I tell her there are no managers here. She flips out about how she doesn't want to hear another word out of my mouth and she wants to talk to a manager and if I hang up on her again, she's coming down here. She won't let me tell her the time the managers come in or try to resend her...if you remember she is so angry with me at this point, she actually did tell me she didn't want to here another word out of my mouth. I hung up on her again.

She may have called back in then hung up...I'm not sure because the 1-800 number shows that it's calling from their and doesn't have their caller id. I would love for her to come down here right now and see for herself that there are no managers here. UGH!! Some people.

I would love for her to even call back now because I found out what the problem was. I called the other store myself and kept getting a busy signal. There line was down. So I did call around that store and found out that their receptionist isn't in yet. I would tell her that. I would even have somewhere to send her over there now.

I'm just so rubbed the wrong way. Why anyone would start screaming like that at somebody is beyond me. Does this lady really believe I just answered the phone and decided to not send her to the right place for giggles and then lied about whether or not a manager was on duty so I wouldn't get in trouble? I'm pretty sure I wouldn't still work here after nearly 3 years, surviving 3 rounds of layoffs if I liked to disconnect people just for fun and then lie about who else was here. GRRR!!! :furious:

Okay...now I feel better since I got that out...Thanks. Back to your normally scheduled chatter/unofficial ptr for various trips/tr.

Hey everyone!! How was your weekend? Is anyone still here? I promise I'll have a REAL ptr soon and it won't be just chatter. Sorry.

My weekend was GREAT!! I just hung out with my little whippersnapper. (That's one of my favorite words!) We just went to a couple of malls, watched a movie, went to church and played. That was our weekend. It was perfect. I love him. :lovestruc

Also, yesterday was FANTASTIC because the Chargers lost in the playoffs. I'm over the Broncos not making it...but I would've cried and been so upset if the Chargers got any further. yeah, I'm dramatic about football, I know.

Last night was also the season premiere of 24!! Does anyone else like that show and watch? I know Staci does. I love it!! I'm stoked for a new season! :woohoo:

Of course, then I come into work after a great weekend and have to deal with raging, psychotic women at 7:30 in morning. But I got it out of my system now!! :)

Yeah, I didn't think they were that close. Thanks for your help. I really appreciate it. I think renting a car is out of the question because we're both younger. (early 20's) Don't you have to be at least 25 in most places? I really think that hiring a car w/ a driver is the best path for us. Their are some places that are as cheap as $40/hour with only a minimum of 2 hours. $80 is cheaper than a cab drive from LAX to the pier! So I still have to play around, but I think that option is the one for us.

Hi Kimmy! My weekend was GREAT. I went to see a Joey McIntyre concert (NKOTB) on Saturday night with my sister. We had a BLAST. Yesterday I spent all day recovering because I was already not feeling well and walking around NYC in the cold didn't help me any. But it was totally worth it!

Why would they premiere 24 during the Golden Globes? I love watching the awards shows. I was so happy Glee won! :woohoo:

YAY!!! I'm glad your weekend was good. I saw all your status updates about the concert!! I  every time!! I was on my phone though and for some reason comments weren't going through. Oh well.

Too bad you had to recover yesterday...I know what you mean about it being worth it though!! First loves never die!! :lmao: I would endure the same for BSB!!

Did they really premiere it during the Golden Globes? I had no idea! I've only watched them a couple of times. You should watch tonight. If you didn't know...last night and tonight each have 2 episodes. Have you watched before and do you plan on watching? I can get you up to speed if you need!! You didn't miss much though. I just know that Staci isn't watching this season until she catches up on other seasons so I don't want to give anything away from her.

Let me just say...I'm super excited Freddie Prinze Jr is on this season. He's yummy! Another one of my crushes from back in the day! :rotfl2:

I've never seen 24. My mom is really into that show, she loves Keifer! I think he was actually nominated for a golden globe last night. He didn't win though. I hear its a great show but it's been on so long that's it's hard for me to get into it. The same for 30 Rock and the Office. I've tried to watch those shows. Just can't do it. I need to watch a show from the beginning! I'm weird like that. :rotfl:

Sorry about the angry woman, customer service can be a real bear sometimes. Some people just have no respect for people in the service industry. I feel bad for her having such a bad day already at only 7:30 AM. :sad2:

I LOVE 24! :yay: It's one of the few shows that DH & I both like, so I like it even more b/c we can watch it together. I get a little confused by the time jump from the last season though, b/c that was the first time we watched. We got a bunch of the prior seasons on DVD though, so hopefully we will be able to catch up!

I love Keifer too!! He makes me happy. I know what you mean about needing to watch a show from the beginning! I actually watched the first few seasons of 24 and started watching again on tv a couple episodes in of last season. But my dad is obsessed so I ended up watching all of last season recently and now am all set for this season.

I know it really is too bad for her to get all worked up in the morning. I really felt TONS better after my rant. Just needed to get it out.

I hope you will be able to catch up. Did you watch all of last season? This one is looking great...I feel bad for Jack though. He keeps getting sucked into save the world!!

Hey Kimmy! I guess that woman must have been in charge of making someone's Monday--and you were her lucky choice! I hate phone calls like that--they make me shaky!

We watched the 1st season of 24 and part of the 2nd. We were behind, though and watched them on DVD, which is probably why we just kind of quit watching. I did wonder, though, if his daughter got into trouble every season...

Hey! Those kind of calls make me shaky too...I literally see red!! Some people. :sad2:

You're too funny...Jack's daughter does end up stopping getting in trouble every season! She even saves her dad's life! ;)

:goodvibes I still want to finish Season 2. What season is it in now?

Do you watch Lost? I gave up on it 2 seasons ago. Then, last night, I happened to catch a bit of it....there were people I'd never seen and they were doing a "pop up video" type update on the bottom of the screen. Sheesh! That show is out of control! :lmao:

Right now I love: The Big Bang Theory, CSI, The Mentalist.
I am still putting up with Grey's.
I watch Ugly Betty online sporadically when I get a chance. Don't know why I never thought to DVR it until now!

How's your cruise & Disney planning going?

Hey guys!! Sorry I've disappeared! My life has been so crazy!

The company I worked for was being bought out and so things were hectic. Then the specific store I worked out just plain closed and I was technically unemployeed for a week, but luckily the company that bought my old one ended up hiring me! However, I'm a lot more busier here and haven't been able to get on as much plus I'm much busier at home and stuff too! So I apologize guys!

HOWEVER!! I have some GREAT news! There's another Disney trip in the works. Things weren't working out with my parents budget, so I'm now going with Landon and 3 friends of mine! However, they're all in school so we can't go in November for Landon's actual birthday, or even in September for free dining again! We're going in early to mid-August! I will post a ptr link as soon as I start one! Should be within the next week! Maybe even today! ;)

Again, sorry guys! I've missed you all SO much!
