For first time WDW visitors, is there any hope of discounts for the week OF Christmas (12/18 - 12/23)?? I know this year the free dining was up through 12/17 I beleive? Just wondering, as if we could get any kind of discount that would affect which resort we stay in. We plan to book soon so just wondering. :upsidedow

We're in the UK, so when we get to go to WDW it's for a nice long trip...we just don't get to go very often. Still, not complaining! This trip was meant to be 2011, but we're going with DBfs family and they haven't been in a long time so they wanted to do it sooner. :cool1: It also started out at 14 nights, but I might have taken advantage of DBf's Disney love and stetched it a bit!

Have you thought about making your own? If you are good with computers, you can create your own custom shirts by printing the image out on a iron on paper. Then transfer to shirts! Also, you can go to the Just for Fun section of the DIS. There are a lot of computer people there willing to help you out!

I did go on Ebay and I couldn't believe how INCREDIBLY cheap transfers are. I think I'll go this route for the boys, but still get the uber-cute custom clothes for DD.

I've come up with a new obsession. I'm figuring out where we would eat any meal to see if it would be beneficial to get the deluxe dining plan. I'm thinking room service would be really nice to have before we head off for the parks in the morning.

I like the looks of POFQ. I've read lots of great things about how small and compact it is making it easy to get around.

We went last summer and were on the regular plan. I was pregnant at the time and only gained 20 lbs, 5 of which came from the 5 days on the dining plan. Seriously. I was soo full, but I so want to experience every restaurant.

My family and I will be there then as well. We are going as a huge family group 11/28/2010 to 12/5/2010 and then my husband,my children and I are extending our stay and switching resorts so it will be 12/5-12/12. We are so excited! Yes, we are going regardless of a good deal and I have already made a large payment on my trip. I hope to be able to make the payments all year long, so that when the time comes I won't have anything to worry about and also I won't be upset if a deal doesn't come along. We were supposed to go this November-09...but had to cancel...broke my heart...so now we too are looking at Dec 2010!! Don't know exactly when...oldest daughter will be in her first year of college next year...so we'll see where her break falls and if she wants to join us or not...lol...I think she and her DBF will love to go...also would like to check out Harry Potter's Wizarding World too! Not sure what resort we will pick...have been to WL and did have CSR booked for this Nov...would love to stay at BW or GF or Poly...so we will see!!! It will be so much fun to start planning restauranst etc. I know I can't make the ADR's until next June, but when that day comes, I will be ready. Also, I am thinking about starting a Disney night once a month when we hit the year mark. That way we will have a fun way to count down the days.

It will be so much fun to start planning restauranst etc. I know I can't make the ADR's until next June, but when that day comes, I will be ready. Also, I am thinking about starting a Disney night once a month when we hit the year mark. That way we will have a fun way to count down the days.

Have you read prior editions? I have read 2009 front to back and then again, and again, and again... :rotfl2: I have DEFINITELY gotten my monies worth out of that book.

I borrowed the 2009 edition from the library. Didn't read too in depth, was saving up for the 2010 edition. My DH bought me a combo pen thing. It has a highlighter, flap posties and pen all in one. I also have a special notebook I will be using too. Our neighbors are going to Disney the same time we are, so we are wanting to do somethings together. So, I bought them a copy of the book too.

My family just got back this past weekend and are already booked again. We'll (just DH & I this next time) will be there Dec. 4 - 10, 2010. So excited about all the Christmas decorations and activities!

I want to stay at the WL for the decorations and DH wants the CR for proximity to MK and the fireworks. I, of course, will win out though :cool1:

I will be booking while I am down at Disney and like always I will be staying at the Pop Century Dec 11 - 18th but this trip next year will not be another solo:scared1:
I will be taking my 2 daughters (21 and 19) they have never been to Disney. But I have a couple of suprises up my sleve. Will be doing Garylord Palms Ice show one night, Going over doing the Harry Patter thing one day, and the biggest is a spa treatment on the last night since there is a 15% off coupon for next year.
We will be staying at the Pop, 6 days MYW, Basic dining and Disney express.

But I can't help it can't get to excited for next year since I leave in 3 days for my Solo trip :banana:

I wish AKL had the convenience of the Poly. Impossible I know, but my girls would love the animals at AKL but I am thinking that if I am going to splurge on this one trip, that I want convenience. Animal Kingdom is my least favorite park but I think we would enjoy the resort. The girls didn't love the look of the Grand Floridian when we went there for the Cinderella dinner. They didn't love the Polynesian when we walked around it. They didn't even love the Contemporary. Well, it is over 14 months away so maybe their tastes will change by then. I suppose it is too much to ask to switch Bay Lake with the Savannah for my convenience. ;)

Hello everyone! We are looking to go Dec 5-12, 2010. Although we just had a great trip in September and the crowds were amazingly low the weather was really hot and humid. The Halloween party was fun, but you just can't beat the Christmas decorations. So we decided next year's trip will be in December again.

I got a pin code email this morning but it's only for dates in april -june. Wish it included December dates because 40% off would have been awesome. We did POR this last trip, (free room in the LMT deal earlier this year) but next trip we want to go back to Wilderness Lodge or possibly the Poly with the right deal.

Went with her in 2008 but she wanted off this December so I talked my parents into going with me December 2009 (they havent been since 1994 and even then only saw part of epcot...they have no idea! :scared1:). Anyway, my BFF just told me over the weekend that she definitely wanted to go December 2010 and of course I am all for it! So as of now I am going Nov 30-Dec 5. :banana: Havent booked it yet (will be using Disney Visa so have to wait and see what deals come out in July 2010) but 99% sure we will stay at POP, as we did that in 2008 and loved it. I guess that could change depending on the specials they offer, though, which is why I'm here with ya'll! :)

If there is a specific room view that you want, I would book. If you are thinking of a cheaper view at Poly or Contemporary they tend to book up faster.

If you are already booked and a deal is released it can be applied to your reservation. Just keep in mind that when deals become available only a percentage of each resort's bookings are eligible for the discount. So you need to be on your toes, watch for the release of these deals and call ASAP. It is possible to call only to be told by the CM that the deal is "sold out" for your particular resort.

Hi Bellenbuzz! That's what I did last year! I booked my Dec. 09 trip in January, and then later I got a code for my dates. I called as soon as I got it, and they were able to apply it. I've heard that they only block certain rooms as available for the discounts, so you'll want to call as soon as you get one. I would suggest that if you book over the phone, you ask a CM about it! :) Hope this helps!

Before you book a value resort, you might want to see if the Pop Warner groups will be staying there. That week is Pop Warner week. There is some debate on whether their contract with Disney expired this past December of it this coming December is the end of their contract.

From what I've heard Pop Warner has expired......not 100% sure on that though! We are going 11-28-10 through 12-06-10 and staying at Pop Century! I cant wait. I spoke to a CM who told me to go ahead and book the trip but that it would definatly be less expensive....I asked her if she knew something that I didnt and she said, "yes, in fact I do!!" I asked if it was discounted rooms or free dining and she said "it just may be both"! We booked 7 days and 8 nights, we will be driving (13 hours from VA) and we booked the dining plan (1 TS, 1 QS and 1 Snack per day).......I am so freakin excited!

call Disney and ask if there are any pins attached to your name. If any are currently active they will tell you what they are. Hope this helps

I still haven't gotten the pin after doing all that, but last month I stayed one night onsite and booked the bounceback so I was able to save $1200. So I've given up the obsession about saving offers and checking emails. But, if I hadn't done the bounceback I would be totally ticked not getting the pin code.:confused:

So I took the advice and ordered the vacation planning dvd, saved vacation offers and signed up for every Disney website and I actually got a Pin Code yesterday! But it was for get the "4th night free when you stay 3 night in a deluxe resort!!!!!!" If we stay at a deluxe our vacation will be very short! The email also said call about special offers for moderate and value resorts too.. So I did… I am on the phone for an hour and get a quote and I said that is more expensive than any of the offers I saved from earlier in the week!! She said really, I’m sorry, so I said is there anything you can do for me? And she says no… so I just saved that reservation and I’m thinking she may have put us down for the Deluxe Dining Plan which is more expensive which made it so much more expensive, so I will check later. Now I know why they don’t say how much you are saving with the Pin Code cause you are not saving anything! I even asked about free dining and she was like, I don’t know how you can get that. Dont get me wrong, she was a really nice woman, I'm just angry about being left out of these special offers. I want my family to be Special!!!!! :)

Hey Everyone! We are "hoping" to be able go to DW Dec. 1 -11th and stay at Pop Century. The last time we went was in Jan. '08 and we loved it! The weather was great and we thought the crowds were fine (nothing to compare it to :confused3). Once again, we will be going with another family and we have a few quick questions about the beginning of December. First, how are the crowds? Are the wait lines crazy? Is Pop Warner going to be there? And if so, do they really make an impact at the resort? We are definately hoping for Free Dining and can you use your credits for "Mickey's Very Merry Christmas"? I just received a pin for 40% for disney deluxe resorts and 45 % on deluxe villas from august 15 thru december 18, excluding the week of thanksgiving. And i must reserved thru october 9th.

Can you imagine 40% again for the resort hotels!!!!! I just reserved my hotel for next may with my 42% florida resident discount.

Hey Everyone! We are "hoping" to be able go to DW Dec. 1 -11th and stay at Pop Century. The last time we went was in Jan. '08 and we loved it! The weather was great and we thought the crowds were fine (nothing to compare it to :confused3). Once again, we will be going with another family and we have a few quick questions about the beginning of December. First, how are the crowds? Are the wait lines crazy? Is Pop Warner going to be there? And if so, do they really make an impact at the resort? We are definately hoping for Free Dining and can you use your credits for "Mickey's Very Merry Christmas"? Sorry about all the questions, it's just such a big decision :) Thanks for your help!

Pop Warner would normally be there during part of the time you are scheduled to go. On another thread there is debate on whether the pop warner contract expired this past December or if there is one more December left on the contract. Yes, the Pop Warner crowds do have an effect on the resorts at which they are staying.

Thanks Taylor, I did wonder about Pop Warner. The only reason we started to discuss December is because Splash Mtn seems to be always closed during January and into Feb, so we figured if we are to go again we want to go when most of the rides will be running.

Well, I am a bit mad a Disney Travel this morning. I was reading the disboards about Pin Codes, I saw how many people got special offers. So I took the advice and ordered the vacation planning dvd, saved vacation offers and signed up for every Disney website and I actually got a Pin Code yesterday! But it was for get the "4th night free when you stay 3 night in a deluxe resort!!!!!!" If we stay at a deluxe our vacation will be very short! The email also said call about special offers for moderate and value resorts too.. So I did… I am on the phone for an hour and get a quote and I said that is more expensive than any of the offers I saved from earlier in the week!! She said really, I’m sorry, so I said is there anything you can do for me? And she says no… so I just saved that reservation and I’m thinking she may have put us down for the Deluxe Dining Plan which is more expensive which made it so much more expensive, so I will check later. Now I know why they don’t say how much you are saving with the Pin Code cause you are not saving anything! I even asked about free dining and she was like, I don’t know how you can get that. Dont get me wrong, she was a really nice woman, I'm just angry about being left out of these special offers. I want my family to be Special!!!!! :)

I also read that if you get any Pin Codes after you book your trip, you can call and have them apply the offer to your reservation. So I still have a chance…

So help me out folks... do I book now for November or should I wait a little longer??????

We had already booked when we got our code, and I fwdd the offer to my travel agent, and she was able to apply it to our already booked trip...Hang in there, there is still time!!!

We are going during the time of Pop Warner week this year too. Luckily, we are stayig at the Poly so we won't have to deal with the Pop crowd if they are going to be staying on site as usual.

did you call reservations? guest services? just asking... we went in december for 5 nights/6 days and in august for 2 nights/3 days as well as once the year before and have ever gotten a pin code of any sort. do you have to stay at the same resort?

I just received a pin for 40% for disney deluxe resorts and 45 % on deluxe villas from august 15 thru december 18, excluding the week of thanksgiving. And i must reserved thru october 9th.

Can you imagine 40% again for the resort hotels!!!!! I just reserved my hotel for next may with my 42% florida resident discount.

Phooey...we did GAD. No PIN (though I did get my vouchers). We ordered the DVD (it arrived today). No PIN. I have some quotes expiring soon...still hoping for that elusive code!!! I would love the free dining but I really, really want a discount I can use at WL...our August super-saver rates just came out and lowered the cost on our US/IOA trip so I am hoping the luck continues!

We are also going in December, the 12th thru 17th. Booked thru Disney with an AAA discount at ASMu at the Family Suites and booked my own airfare which I called and added to the room only reservation. I will be getting my park tickets from undercover tourist since they seem to be the most reasonable.
Just missed the Pop Warner group by one week. No pin codes either. Ordered the DVD, have been 4+ times and ordered the DVD each time. Got Free Dining on the last trip in 2007, hoping for it this time around too. Got an email the other day from Disney Destinations but no pin attached to it. :(

Called today to ask a question and the CM told me I had a pin available. He told me to hold on for a second and said it was good for the dates we're coming. Decided to upgrade to the FW cabins so the 6 of us can share it instead of getting 2 rooms at POP. We saved almost $1000. :woohoo:

DH gave me the biggest hug when he came home.

I have read that some of you are just calling to see if there is a PIN attached to your name. How often can I do this without really being a pain in the tush? I did receive a PIN last week but it was useless to us, so I am hoping for another for the fall.
