Our family was at Disney in early August of this year. We were walking to the World Showcase toward Mexico/Norway. We noticed a large empty building. We couldn't remeber what used to be there. And does Disney have any future plans for this space. I was suprised to see such a large empty space at Disney.

I think it used to be a restaurant. The last two years that we went ('07 & '08) it's been closed. I don't know what plans there are for it.

it is used for the Desert reception done during Illuminations. The building has a restaurant inside that does a character greeting. After you eat you are escorted down to the perfect spot to watch Illuminations near the Italian pavillion. You are then served deserts. Pretty cool stuff:cool1:

The pond under the Odyssey complex was created to hide a sinkhole that was discovered during Epcot construction. I would venture to guess that no ride or attraction will ever replace Odyssey.
