...hoped for a glimpse of the Podcast Crew? I was in Downtown Disney on September 5, blowing time in Orlando before our cruise the next day on RCCL. I knew the chances of seeing any of the Crew members was slim to none, but I still kept my eyes peeled! I didn't see anyone though. :(

On my last trip I was hoping I would bump into one of them.

Then on the next podcast they were talking about being in DTD and I had been there a few days before that. And I think Kathy was in MK a few days after I was there.

Sure, I sort of keep a look out. I'm not totally sure I would reconize anyone in person and I have no idea what I would do if I did, but I still look. In May I saw a couple with a stroller walking toward me at Epcot, from a distance it looked like Corey and Julie, I knew I wouldn't have the nerve to say anything and I didn't want to bother them if it was, but it turned out it wasn't them. I was kinda relieved. :laughing:

Before Bob passed, I was on the look out for the kaht with Christmas lights...but never did see it! He would have been alot easier to spot in the masses of people. On trips since, I haven't been lucky enought to spot any one of them...its kinda like "Where's Waldo"!

Kathy, I had asked that on FB2FB....was there ever a time when you were recognized and you were thinking "Oh, god...not now!"

I would say, If you think you have spotted one of the podcast team, say hey. We are just as thrilled to see you. Well, maybe not John:scared1:but I know everyone else would be happy. I am always looking for the podcast shirts in the parks or a familar face I might recognize from Facebook or the boards.

I agree with Teresa. I am also on the lookout for DIS shirts. I haven't been recognized in the parks yet. I was recognized on the Podcast cruise in the elevator. That was fun.

I have met up with listeners in the park when they are on vacation. That has been fun.

It seems that we are less visibly recognizable than audibly.

I have people tell me they recognize our voices alot.

It might be that we run through the World screaming "we're John and Kevin from the podcast".....but you never know.

It's summer and I dont like to sweat.

Had eye surgery and cant see well.

Last time I did that....somone jumped in their car and drove from Florida's east coast. By the time they got here....I had left the park.

I didnt think that was a very fair thing to do to anyone.

I love meeting folks in the parks.

You guys were telling the story about the McDonalds being robbed a couple of weeks ago and I was in DTD that night. And I was so disappointed I didn't even know you guys were there!

I figured I'd NEVER see Kevin or John there (and Pete and Walter were on the other side of the world) so I was mainly looking for Corey and Julie. They're the two I figured I'd most recognize. Maybe next time! And unfortunatly, I don't know what Theresa or Kathy look like yet.

I always keep an eye out for the Podcast Team. I met Bob in Epcot at the Flower and Garden one year, but he was hard to miss - the kaht kam and boot, etc - was easy to spot.

The first Dis'er (not podcaster, just Dis'er) I saw was in MK a day before the podcast cruise - she was wearing a Dis shirt and I was so excited to see my first fellow fan, I ran right up to her and bellowed, "Hi!!" and :wave2: :wave2: while pointing at my matching shirt. Her husband pulled the stroller a little closer to him and she put herself in front of the stroller...until a few seconds passed and they realized I wasn't a total :dance3: - or maybe they were just being kind :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: On the podcast cruise I mellowed out my introductions :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

We were in DTD with Julie and Corey on the 8th when julie did her store tours... it took me a full half hour (while we were eating at WGP right across the room from them LOL) to decide it was them (thanks to my iPhone and facebook ap--pictures are great:rolleyes1) in my defense, it threw me off b/c they didn't have precious ferris with them..., but I wasn't going to say anyting.... until Julie got in the restroom line right behind me:lmao:... So I got to meet Julie in the bathroom and then she introduced me to Corey (Hey Corey, I met one of our listeners in the bathroom :rotfl2:) LOL... that's my only 'Celebrity" sighting... that was the best way to start our trip:goodvibes

We had been lucky to have met Bawb in December 2007 and spent several hours with him and Corey around the Studios.

We got to meet Kevin and John ( plus Will when he was part of the crew) last year in August 2008 during a Dole Whip meet.


We are in WDW in 14.5 days (I did not change my timer to the correct day)...3 resorts. I guess I might be wearing a lei (refer to the first July e-mail show). NC Beast won a podcast hat last year which one of us may wear on this trip. We will be wearing the podcast lanyards (I'm usually with a camera out).

I was debating whether or not to pack my dis unplugged tshirt next month, but now it will definetely be coming along.
It would be AWESOME to run into one of the crew in the parks, It would probably take me awhile to get up the nerve to say hi.

I think my mom, my sister and my mom's friend bumped into Bob in October 2007 while I was running to Soarin' to get us FastPasses. They mentioned that some guy in an ECV with an east coast accent was talking with them for a while when I was gone.

I think it would be cool if they had randomly talked to Bob as a complete stranger. I have specific info about what he talked about with them that might fit Bob's life, but I have no basis for comparison.

Of course now that the weather is getting cooler, there is the lure of Food & Wine at Epcot to entice you back to the parks. Val & I hope to run across you, or any of the podcasters, in about 3 weeks.
