How many of you squish into one bed with your DH or DW on vacation when there is a perfectly good bed empty on the other side of the room?

On vacation, I get my own bed. Period. My DH and DS sleep together and I'm all alone. Yeah!!!!!!!

On the other hand, if there is a king bed, that's okay. As long as he stays on his side!

I like sleeping with my DS better than my DW, anyway .

My 2 year old DD starts off in her own bed, but somewhere in the night lures either my DH or I into her bed for a snuggle. Sometimes I wake up alone. Sometimes my DH wakes up alone. My DD always wakes up with a parent :).

We have a king bed at home, and I won't sleep with DH in anything smaller than a king bed (he is about a foot taller and 100 lbs. heavier than me). :D

At deluxe resorts we each take our own queen bed and my DD won't sleep in anything but her favorite, the day bed. Works for us all!

On our last trip we were at All Stars and had the double beds. We are NOT used to beds of that size. DS decided to make a chart listing who would sleep with who each night and who would get their own bed that night. It was too funny. Even though we like All Stars DH says we have to stay at least at moderate from now on because he is not doing the double bed thing again. We in fact do better with all three of us in a king size bed.

Unfortunately a moderate won't help you any as those beds are doubles too - you need to go to a deluxe for the queen beds.

Of course you can get a King at either the Values or Moderates but those are the handicap accessible rooms and I think they only have the capacity of 2 (but not sure on that).

DH,DD, DD & I usually take turns sleeping with each other.

Even when we have a daybed, we don't use it that much.

Well, DH and I don't have any kids but when we visited the World in December we slept in our own beds aaaaallll week long. ;) That was the best part of the vacation...room to stretch!! We sleep in a double bed at home and having some extra elbow room is a real treat. To be honest, by Wednesday DH was asking when we'd share a bed again...but no way was I giving up my comfy sleep!! :p ;) :)

Gosh, I must be the only one here that actually likes sleeping with DH! :D He is 6'4" and we have a king bed at home but you can give us two full or queen beds and we will both be in one of them. :Pinkbounc

It never works out so that DH and I are actually in the same bed! LOL...It is always, myself and DD in one bed and DH and DS in the other bed!! :)

I get my own bed, DH sleeps with DS. Ahhhh, the freedom of your own space!

DS looks forward to sleeping with Daddy. I know DH was disappointed when we had the trundle bed at POR and DS refused to sleep in it.

I am a DINK (double income, no kids), so my DW and I will ask for a king, but if we get 2 queens, she gets one and I get the other! Nothing like some time alone on vacation! :jester:

Me and my son in one bed - husband in the other. Works out just fine!

Well - I use the other bed because my husband snores. That's my excuse.

You're not alone skiwee1! DH and I *always* sleep together! We've even slept together in a twin bed on occasion! :) We prefer sleeping together. Until 6 months ago we had a king sized waterbed, then we switched to a full size bed. We fit just fine, and neither of us are what you'd call thin. lol We have a hard time sleeping without being curled up together.

Nothing like a king size bed or two queens so we each have a bed :)! And the moderate resorts do only have two double beds. I swear when they first opened they had queen beds.

My DH and I are like SeaSpray and Skiwee1. We never even considered using the other bed in the room. At WL we had a king bed and I swear we got lost in it. We have been married thirty four years and we still like to snuggle.

I had to say add my 2 cents about this. My youngest daughter LOVES vacations because she gets to sleep with one of her parents. OK, she's 12 now and still loves it. The other one who is 15 now ended up sleeping next to me this last vacation. She would just as soon sleep next to one of her parents because she doesn't want to sleep with her 12 year old sister. In all the years we have been vacationing with the kids, there is only one vacation that my husband and I got to sleep in the same bed together and that was on an RV trip. Too funny. But....I'll miss the time together when my kiddies grow up.

We ALWAYS sleep together also - including DD (toddler) in bed with us. We have a King at home and always request a King when in a hotel. Well, this past trip to WL we had requested a King but found out when we got there the only Kings left did not have a tub. And with a 14 month old, we needed a tub!! So we took the two queen beds. The first night we started out DD and me in one bed and DH in the other. Well, we all missed being together rather quickly and decided to pile into one bed!! We slept that way for the entire week! When we got home, we felt like we had sooooo much room in our King bed!

Just my DH and I and we always sleep in the same bed even if it's a double. We have a queen at home and we are DVC members, so on years when we splurge on the one bedroom unit, that king bed feels like we could fit 5 more people in it! And of course, we always end up smushed on one side of the bed anyway.

I am a bed hog and was worried when we were at CBR this last April about being in a Double with DH. We were going to split the beds with the kids, but then decided that we turn and churn less than the kids, so ended up sharing a bed between us. DD kicks like a mule and DH is used to giving me my space (I take 3/4 of the bed, and he gets the other 1/4 ;) ) So the bed at CBR wasn't as bad as I thought and a very comfy mattress.

After CBR, we moved over to AKL, and I do prefer having the Queens. We sleep on a King at home, so are used to lots of room. Although that King usually fills up with our kids that try to sneak in during the night (lol). I have slept on a Single with DH in our early days, but thats when we could react to two hours of sleep and a cricked back with a spring in our step. Now I just need my beauty sleep.... I mean I really need it so I don't scare the locals ;)

It's always musical beds on our trips:D My littlest one sleeps with me. My other 2 both want to sleep with daddy. There are times when all 3 sleep in the queen bed. Sometimes he gets up and sleeps on the daybed, and a couple of times he put the daybed on the floor next to their bed. They just can't get enough of him;) That's what we get when our kids out number us!

I agree the king beds at OKW seem large. I for one love to cuddle up with my wife, in college we slept in a twin bed LOL.

You can definitely get king beds at all of the moderates, and they are not handicap rooms. We always get a king bed.

Every once in a while when we stop in the middle of the night on a long drive, we'll end up in a room with 2 doubles. I have to confess that we do usually sleep in our own beds. It's just one night, and we wait until we're so exhausted that fighting over bed space is out of the question.
