We are doing the DXDDP this year; next week actually. At a TS meal when the server asks if we are on the dining plan do we say that we are on the DXDDP so that we won't get charged for appetizers? TIA

our experience in January on the deluxe dining was that when we said we were on the deluxe dining, they asked to see our card to verify (very nicely, very politely explaining they had to check because "there had been changes to the dining plans")

It is probably best to say what plan you're on. They're supposed to explain to you what you can get with each plan.

We always tell the server first, and then they generally will explain what we can get under the plan.

After a week on deluxe, it can be a bit tiring to have each server explain your entitlements to you, but they will always 1) ask if you're on the dining plan, and 2) ask to see your card so they can explain what you'll receive. I imagine it's standardized training.

If you want to skip that, you can pass on telling them you're on the DP, but then you might have delays at settling the check.

Not really that tiring, just a formality. Doesn't really make a big difference in enjoyment of the meal. :confused3
