Best Buy come to the UK!!!

Afternoon all,

for those who venture outside disney to do a spot of shopping, you may or may not have popped into a Best Buy - think a combination of Asda/Walmart and a large trade warehouse such as Costco, Makro etc.

Anyhoo, they're opening some stores in the UK next year - while I was aware of this, imagine my surprise when on my extremely short commute home (less than 10 mins) I drive right past Lakeside Retail Park, and while queuing for the roundabout notice the big blue hoarding around a slowly-being-dismantled store (used to be an Allied Carpets IIRC), and huge yellow tags with BEST BUY printed on them.........

So when i'm trying to save money and clear bills they go and bring one of my favourite US stores to my doorstep!!!!!! Grrrr!!!! :cool1:

Best Buy is a great place to buy DVDs. They carry a very large selection. Not as large as a Virgin Megastore, but better priced. They also carry a lot of CDs, electronics (televisions, cameras, computers, large appliances), mobile phones and video games. In the US, they are also home to the Geek Squad. I don't know if that will be available in the UK, but they are a place you can take your computers for maintenance and repair. I love Best Buy. Be sure to ask for a Best Buy Rewards card!

As far as I understand it from my discussions with the head office over here Geek Squad WILL be available in all their stores, possibly not immediately at opening but shortly after, and the full range of services offered by the US version will be mirrored here.

Hi i hope they give better customer service in uk then here having been a customer who has spent thousands of dollars .I wont use them anymore their customer service stinks .Geek squad service is terrible they dont treat their customers very well.:cool1::cool1::cool1:

They are def opening one in Southampton. All the signs are up and they have started refurbishing the building. Says ''opening Spring 2010''
We love Best buy so this is great news!
