I will be making a short solo trip in Oct. Last year I had a great time at the Christmas Party solo, but since I won't have a costume, do you think MNSSHP would be worth it? :confused3

YES~~ I was solo a few years ago and it was grand fun.. I love MNSSHP better than the XMAS party.. weather is better.. parades are more fun and I loved it .. so yes go as a solo.. it is well worth it..

BTW if you are going 10/6 to the party , the DIS Ladies will be there.. so you can join us if you want..

Semi~related questions:

1. Which is more the norm; adults in costume, or adults w/o costume?

2. How do they handle the ticket situation??? The park <closes> at the same time MNSSHP starts...how do they handle this...do you have to <leave> and them come back thru the turnstiles??? Surely, they've got a more efficient way that I am just not thinking of...

more adults without costumes than with, but you'll be fine either way. And no you won't have to leave and reenter, but you will have to show your MNSSHP ticket for an arm band

If you love Halloween, I say YES!

If you want to get festive without having to dress up, think about getting your face painted.

Glad to hear it's ok to go solo, I'm going next year & was thinking about going to MNSSHP but wasn't sure if it was something that only families did. I'm so pleased I can go solo as was looking forward to collecting candy as it's not something we do in the uk.

You can pick up your wrist band at City Hall or the Rose Garden after 4 while enjoying the park, so when 7 rolls around, you'll be all set.

Been to MNSSHP solo and in a costume! Its so much fun! You will have a blast! I love being able to go in costume, there are some great pictures to be had with the characters, and to be able to be in a costume at MK.... Priceless! :) Don't forget you also get to trick or treat!!

Just got back from going to MNSSHP - TWICE - SOLO.

LOVED IT.

I ended up just wearing my Sunday football clothes for the second one.

If you have the means of creating a costume or even just a halloween shirt - I would wear it. You can pick up some Mickey Halloween ears inside the park if you want too.

The parade is awesome. Solo you can even catch the start of it from Frontierland, then when it ends - you can make it all the way back to city hall to see 1/2 of it again.

While the MNSSHP doesn't start until 7pm - your ticket is good for entry starting at 4pm -- SO you can make more valuable use of your day time if you like. A) Go to a different park until 3pm - then get your halloween stuff and head to the Magic Kingdom (since it's a seperate ticket anyway). B) Spend your day off site or at your hotel or doing something else -(ie pool, sleeping in etc.) - Then take your time getting to MK by 4pm. You'll be able to ride and do things with a full crowd until 7pm. Then they will make everyone without a wrist band leave - so you can still ride til 8pm - Parade at 8pm - then fireworks at 9pm. Rides til midnight.

THE BEST PART OF SOLO OR WITH FRIENDS FOR MNSSHP - since so many people bring kids - MOST OF THE RIDES ARE NO LINES AND NO WAITING** - especially after the fireworks end at 9:15. That's nearly 3 hours - I can testify that 3 hours of no lines will wear you out. (Although the candy will help with your energy)(Several rides I literally walked right onto the ride and didn't see ANYONE). With Space Mountain closed til Nov and some rides closed at night for MNSSHP - I'd bet a solo person focused enough could make it through everything open from 9pm-12am. **Sun-Thur nights (local kids will be able stay up later on the weekends)

I CAN'T WAIT TO GO ALL THE WAY BACK TO DISNEY JUST FOR 1 DAY FOR MNSSHP. Drive in that morning, check into hotel (well camping for me) - nap - then decent late lunch/dinner - then party from 4-12.pirate:

Tickets in advance are I think a $7 savings for adults.

Just got back from my first solo trip last week and I went to the party. It was one of the highlights of the trip. I loves seeing the kids in costumes, watched the parade and didn't have to worry that there was a place for my whole family to watch from, and the rides were all walk on the whole night. I would do it again in a minute.
