Hi everyone,

This is kind of exciting. I have been lurking through the boards the last month or so and LOVE reading what everyone posts about their weddings. It is so exciting and you all have been soooo extremely helpful already! So thanks!

I have finally worked up the guts to make my very own planning journal. I tend to change my mind, A LOT, so hopefully my PJ doesn't get too scatterbrained in the process.

I think I am going to try and keep an index in this first post to help me stay organized and that way in the future if I end up with a ton of stuff, we wont have to page through all the posts to find something. Here goes:

The Bride:

My name is Amanda, but everyone pretty much calls me Cookie, hence "DisneyCookie24". I was born and raised in Ohio, in the Cleveland area, but now live in Toledo. I am 26 years old and I have been forever obsessed with Disney... especially when it come to Walt Disney World. I am an Electrical Engineering apprentice, but kind of hate it and plan on getting out of this as soon as I can. But for now, I am very thankful that I have a somewhat stable job during this bad economy.

The Groom:

Terrance recently spent about 3 years in Korea in the Army as an MP. He is from all over the place really. He lived most of his childhood in Utah, and later moved to Texas with his family during high school and some of middle school. Then he was in the army, and now he is here in Ohio with me :) making me the happiest and luckiest girl ever. This past August he decided to go back to school at Bowling Green State University for Athletic Training and so far is loving it. Who wouldn't if your assignments were to go to sporting events... this is definitely a good fit for him.

More on Us:

Like I said, we are together in Toledo, Ohio and have 3 fur babies that we love and spoil to death. We have 2 crazy cats name Peaches and Lucifer and a black lab mix named Maliboo, who we are so sad that we will not be bringing her to Disney for our wedding... but I'm sure that she will appreciate being spared the long trip.

so, that pretty much covers us with out going into how we met. Kind of boring I know, but it's who we are.

When I learn to add images and pics, I will definitley add some, because they make things more fun to read if you ask me!

How we met post coming up next!

Welcome and congrats! Don't worry about changing your mind, you're the bride and you're allowed to change your mind about anything. At least that's what I'm going with! I wish you could bring pets to Disney (and not leave them in a Kennel). We've got one crazy cat that we're going to miss so much, and he's so attached to us and hates to be alone, so we're not sure what we're going to do with him yet.

Looking forward to hearing your plans.

Thanks and Howdy Neighbor! I am glad that I am not the only one that doesn't want to leave the pooch at home, but if I brought her, it would just be one more thing to worry about, and worry is exactly what I would do. Not about the wedding, but about her...

True that, it was very hard to find any personal perspectives about the S/D, Im just so glad I did find this site, I don't know what I would have done. It's been my own little personal support group, even before I started posting! haha :)

I'm probably going to be a Swan & Dolphin bride too...working out the details now. Congrats!!

How we meet :lovestruc

We have been dating since March 6th, 2008, but we actually met and have been friends since April of 2003. This is how we met.

I was living in Orlando, Florida, participating in the Walt Disney World College Program :cool1:. During this time, Terrance had traveled to Florida to visit a really good friend of his. It just so happens, that this friend was also my close friend, and neighbor, that I met while I was there. So Terrance and I were introduced and we hit it off well and became good friends even after his visit ended.

http://terranceandamanda.weebly.com/uploads/1/4/0/4/1404440/3162996.jpg

A few months later, Terrance decided to join the Disney program as well, so we had a chance to get to know each other more and become better friends while we were both living in Florida. In August, it was time for me to return to Ohio and then in October, Terrance made his way back to Texas. During my Spring break in 2004, I made a trip to Texas to visit Terrance and my other friends. After that trip, Terrance and I still remained good friends for the next 4 or so years, while he was in Korea in the Army, and I was finishing college.

It wasn't until March of 2008 that we decided it was time to have a another visit, and this time, when I went to Texas, we decided that being just friends, was not enough, and so, from that point on, we were "officially" a couple.

We traveled back and forth between Texas and Ohio for 4 months, but Terrance couldn't wait anymore and decided to move to Ohio so we didn't have to be in a long distance relationship anymore. And we have been together, ever since then, living in good 'ole Toledo, Ohio.

:love::lovestrucThe Proposal:lovestruc:love:

WARNING: its a tad long... sorry...

Well, it is clear to many who know us, that not only do we both love Disney (esp. Disney World) but it is also the reason that we ever met.

This is why it was Terrance's original plan to pop the question to me, on a trip to Walt Disney World that was being planned with our friends for October 2009. Well, things came up that prevented many of the group from being able to go on the trip anymore, so we all decided to cancel the trip and maybe try again some other time.

Well, Terrance was getting impatient and decided that he couldn't wait to ask me anymore so he devised a plan that I would be completely clueless about.

First he called my mom to make sure that it would be OK to ask me. Then, he called my closest friends to be in on it. So this is how it went down:

It was Friday, April 17th, 2009 around 5 or 6pm. I had just gotten home from work. Our friend Stephanie called me and asked if we wanted to go with her to see a movie that night. Me, being the lazy person and the penny pincher that I am, was very wishy washy about the idea. Finally, after Stephanie said she has free movie passes and that she needs to use them, and after Terrance became really excited about a trip to the movies, I agreed that it would be fun and we decided to go. We hurried up and got ready and headed up to the mall to meet Stephanie there.

While I had absolutely no clue about what was about to happen, Terrance did have my suspicions up for many reasons. First of all, he had been text messaging an extreme amount (even for him) that day, AND his phone was on vibrate too, which is also a rarity. Turns out he didn't want me to hear the ringer for the people he was texting, because I would become too nosy if I found out that it was my friends. Also, he was very adamant about getting to the mall early so we could shop a little before the movie, even though we have no money, and he is never the one who wants to shop, and of all the stores, he wanted to go into the Disney store (over the sports stores).

So, we get there, and we go to the Disney store, and we shop around a little (I am always happy to go into the Disney Store), we didn't buy anything, and then we head on out. I ask to go into Victoria Secret because I wanted more Coconut body spray and so we go in there. Terrance was acting weird like he was looking for something outside of the store, so I ask him what he is doing... He tells me he is smelling the store... It's Terrance, and not as odd of a response as one might think. So I shrug it off. Then, my phone rings. It's Stephanie, she asks if we would meet her at the Disney Store because she needs to get a gift for her nephew, so we head back over there (apparently, at this time, when Terrance was "smelling" he was looking for some people, because his phone didn't get any service to text them).

OK, so we are back in the Disney Store, and we see Stephanie, and we look around a little to help her shop for her nephew, when next thing I know, Terrance is down on his new looking up at me and asking me some super serious questions. I wish I could repeat what he said, but I was too busy saying "oh my gosh, are you serious? no way, I cant believe this, are you serious this time?" to really listen to the words he was saying. And it's true though, he has gotten down on his knee before, in a very joking manner, and asked me to marry him, but it was never for real, I thought this was the same. Even when he held the ring up to me. It wasn't until I looked around and I saw my friends Kat and Andy and Stephanie all taking pictures, that I realized that he was serious, and that I should probably answer. As you all now know, I said yes, and that is our story of our "Disney" engagement...

Ok, so nothing is officially booked yet, well kind of, but here are our thoughts and tenative plans so far:

Technically, we are booked to get married on June 2th, 2010, in Medina, Ohio.... we payed the deposit and reserved the hall, buuuuuttt....... I like to change my mind a lot, and decided that is NOT where I want to get married. The guest list for the Ohio wedding was nearing 300, and the greater majority was in fact family (we have big families).

Even though we were booked and everything, I was constantly thinking about other places to get married... and most often about going to Disney for it. So after doing more research (90% of it through here, so thank you guys for the great info!) we decided that a Disney Wedding would still save us money and DF and I would be so much happier there. We are such a Disney couple and we have no idea why we didn't take this road from the very beginning.

So our first thought was to do a wishes wedding and trying to stay at the 10,000$ minimum, and we were ok with that price, it fit our budget... a little higher than we would like, but doable... HOWEVER... after further research, we found the minimum would be raised to 12,000$ for 2011 (at least), soooo, thats when I did some more research and heard about the Swan and Dolphin, and Fulton's Crab House (Thanks ladies for those suggestions! It helped!)

So, long story made just a little shorter (but not much), here are the two options that we have narrowed it down to:

1) Ceremony at the Swan and Dolphin in the Crescent Terrace
http://lh3.ggpht.com/__s2gpEVLnsQ/Srba0rHaH6I/AAAAAAAAD8k/wv4GhF8y69k/Picture1.jpg

http://lh5.ggpht.com/__s2gpEVLnsQ/Srba1HCWFNI/AAAAAAAAD8w/R1ERHsHHVuc/Picture4.jpg

with a reception to follow (maybe with a cocktail hour in between, not sure yet, at Il Mulino at the Swan and Dolphin
http://lh5.ggpht.com/__s2gpEVLnsQ/SrbcS_pb4PI/AAAAAAAAD9k/fRBFmJyZQXU/Picture17.jpg

Or Option 2)

Ceremony and Reception at Fultons Crab House

http://lh3.ggpht.com/__s2gpEVLnsQ/SrbbJi1uGcI/AAAAAAAAD9M/JTnA0VrmLaQ/Picture11.jpg
http://lh4.ggpht.com/__s2gpEVLnsQ/SrbbJ10SmfI/AAAAAAAAD9c/YZYZ7MP8Eag/s912/Picture15.jpg
http://lh6.ggpht.com/__s2gpEVLnsQ/SrbbOrUZFvI/AAAAAAAAD9g/HmrPzftqHWE/s800/Picture16.jpg

So far I am leaning for Fulton's, the price for there comes out to be about 1200$ cheaper. Which means more money for something else. I am always for that. However, just 3 days ago, I was dead certain that it was going to be at the Swan and Dolphin... soI may change my mind again :) yeah, that's what I am best at....

I will leave it at that for today, I hope I can write more tomorrow!

OK, so it's been a LONG time since I posted on here... I think that it was mostly because I didn't have a very clear vision of how this wedding was going to work out, and I was getting discouraged. But this last month or so, things have been coming together better and I'm back in planning mode! So I will bring this PJ up to speed! I apologize if I repeat anything...

Groom's Attire: We bought a Suit at Men Wearhouse, but we still need to pick out a tie and shirt for underneath, but it was exciting to get something done in that aspect.

Website: www.terranceandamanda.com (it's password protected, but if you would like to see it just PM me and I will give it to you) I will have some screen shots up later on.

Bridal Party: We have 5 Groomsmen and 5 Bridesmaids, and 1 Jr. Groomsman/Ring Bearer

**What's in Progress**

Hair & Makeup: Looking into either Patricia LeJune or Beaute Speciale since they both seem to be highly recommended by many of you here, but if you have any other suggestions, I am all ears!

Ceremony/Cocktail Hour Music: I am pretty certain that I will be booking a steel drum player. I feel like that will clash with the whole January and Snowflake thing, but I love how they sound and they seem so fun... so I'm thinking I will just go for it.

Reception Music: since it is a dinner reception, and I don't really think there will be room for any type of dancing to happen, I will probably just let the restaurants music play, or play my IPod...

**Stuff to Work On**

Ahh! Everything Else!

The Dress: Usually this is high on other bride's lists, but I want to lose 12 more pounds before I do any more dress shopping. I have gone and found some potential dresses, but I really want to wait. However, if I don't reach that goal by the end of May, then I am going to go regardless cause I don't want to wait too long and not have a dress in time for the Wedding!

Bridesmaids Dresses: We're thinkin' black and short with pink accessories/sashes

Well, I know there is more, but I will have to post that later. I will also go into details on the stuff above probably as well. Now that I have things booked, it is less stressful, however, the stress is by no means gone! I fear it never will be either...

That's so good to hear. I am going on a pre wedding trip to Florida in May so hopefully I will get to set up a trial with one of them. I am leaning towards Ana right now, but I need to see if either of them are even available. That would help!

These were very fun to make and I am VERY pleased with how they came out. I went with the boarding pass type of save the date that I have seen else where on Etsy and I think I have seen a few on the boards as well.

I designed the boarding pass using GIMP photo editing software and printed them on high quality photo paper. I fit 3 on a page. Then I stuck them to some adhesive magnetic sheets that I bought in bulk at Custom-Magnets.com. Then I cut them out in rectangles and used a corner punch to round the corners.

Since our website has a password on it, I decided to make a little sheet that had the password on it and stuck it on the backside of the magnets.

My wedding website is a work in progress, and it took me AGES to get it how I liked it, and I still am not 100% happy with it, but I don't think I ever will be, so I decided that I need to just let it be and only change it when information changes and it needs to be updated.

The website is www.terranceandamanda.com
It is password protected, but if you would like to check it out you can PM me for the password.

I am hosting it with bluehost.com because I already had a site using that service and was able to just add this one to it. I am using a wordpress blog instead of setting up an actual site, but it seems to do the trick.

I used widgetbox.com to set up the form submissions. I paid for the pro service. It emails me each night that more people filled it out. Or I can logon to widgetbox and get the information there. I will be using this same set up in order to find out who is interested in attending the welcome and farewell events that I will probably be setting up. But I will also snail mail these inquiries to thos who may not be able to get on the internet. I just hope people use them, if they do, I think it will make life TONS easier...

I am trying not to worry about any jewelry or accessories type decisions until AFTER the big stuff is all done and until I pick out a dress, HOWEVER, I got this watch that I am in love with for Christmas and it will definitely be worn on my wedding day.... I makes me happy to look at it :) at least I know one thing I will be wearing :upsidedow

It's called Tinker Bell's Reflections of Time Crystal Watch, and I got from my Mom... Thanks Mom!!!:wave2:

It's driving me nuts that I haven't been able to wear it, so I decided it was at least time to share it!!!

I didn't want to just ask the girls, so I made these cards and bought them each a frame with a pic of us in it... Some of the girls have ALOT of pictures of us together, so that is why you may see some whacky pics of us instead of a nice one of us smiling together...

I got the idea for the cards over at weddingbee.com, here (http://www.weddingbee.com/2009/08/12/asking-them-all-over-again/), and I really did copy them almost exactly. :guilty:... what can i say, I rarely have a good idea myself, but I definitely know one when I see one... :rolleyes1 But I give credit where credit is due:thumbsup2

At the time, those were going to be my wedding colors, but I have changed them numerous times since then... As with everything...

The girls loved them and thought it was cute... We didn't make anything for the boys, is that bad?? My brothers are in the wedding, and they would make fun of me if I did that.. I don't need any more reasons for them to tease me...haha... it's all good fun though!

When I should be cleaning!

I made this yesterday when I was supposed to be cleaning... It was fun, and I love it, it makes me laugh to see the heads on the body's, especially my nephews... :lmao:

This is a pretty good vision of what the wedding party will be wearing I think... nothing is purchased yet, but the bridesmaids dresses have been tried on by a few of the girls and they LOVE them, so as long as the other ones like it too, then this will be them. The guys will just be in black suits. The flowers I found on etsy.com and I really like them and think I am going to buy them. But I think it's too soon to do so. I would damage them between now and January :rolleyes1...The girls shoes will be pink. Hot pink. So far this wedding dress is my top pick, but I am not 100% yet. I am not doing any dress shopping until mid May so I can lose a little weight first. But this is my vision so far, I think I like it... And it's also pasted onto the Crescent Terrace at the Swan and Dolphin where we will be getting married.. yay!

We just got back last night from a kind of short trip to Walt Disney World where we were able to meet with some vendors and get some planning done. I'm glad we did too because boy, are things changing! It's good too because I finally have something to write about again. I wish I knew where to start.

I guess I will use this post to get the not so wedding related stuff out of the way. Like where we stayed, and the fun stuff we did. I'll try not to bore you too much.

We arrived on Friday, May 7th. We stayed just one night at the Holiday Inn Express Lake Buena Vista. The rest of the trip was at the Boardwalk Inn Villas at Disney. We didn't stay there the first night because we originally intended to drive down but booked last minute flight so we were able to extend the trip a night, and couldn't get another night at the Boardwalk. My mom is a DVC member, and that was my first time staying on the points, and man was it sweet.... We flew back home on Wednesday, May 12th, so it was sort of a short trip, but it was definitely a nice break from work. Here are some pics from our room. The resort was gorgeous... as they usually are...

On Friday night we met up with DF's close friend from back home in Texas, who is also the reason we met. He was my neighbor and one of my closest friends from the College Program in 2003 and he introduced us when DF came down to visit him over spring break...

Anyways, our friend still works seasonally at Typhoon Lagoon so he still has perks at Disney, so we decided to splurge a bit and head to Ohana's. What a great decision. The food was phenomenal! And I highly recommend it to anyone want excellent all you can eat food. Seriously, who wouldn't like a buffet where the food comes to you? Enjoy some pics.

(The boys enjoying the Backscratcher that they ordered from the bar)

On Saturday, our friend was able to get us into Typhoon Lagoon for free, so the three of us spent the day there with another college program friend of ours that we met up with. It was so good catching up. We definitely spent the ENTIRE time in the lazy river. So perfect.

Sunday we met with Randy Chapman for engagement pics, spent some time at Downtown Disney, met up with with the Private Dining Coordinator at Il Mulino at the Swan, had dinner there to try out the food, and then relaxed the rest of the night. I will go into all of that in other posts to give some better info on Randy and the restauant.

Monday was a fun day at Epcot.

Tuesday we met with our wedding coordinator Karen of Just Marry for the Swan and Dolphin, and tried a ton of cakes. Again, more on that in a future post.

Wednesday we shopped around, toured some DVC model rooms, and headed home. :(:sad1:

Sorry this was so long. You can see why I need to seperate it up into other posts. Maybe I should have made a trip report?? Anyways, I will fill you in more on our meetings with the vendors in the next few days. I have so much to share, good and bad.

TTFN:thumbsup2

Alright, I am just going to start my reviews and findings from this trip from the very beginning. So first up is Sunday morning engagement pics with Randy Chapman.

Unfortunately this wont be too exciting of a review since it hasn't even been a week yet, so there will be no pictures to post. But I will post as SOON as I get them.

I will, however, say that Randy was awesome to work with. I tend to be really akward in front of cameras, but he made it very easy and fun. We went to Downtown Disney and got some shots in front of the big hot air balloon, by Fulton's, by Legoland, and all over the place really. DF is a big Lego geek as I like to call him, so Randy got some good shots of us and my engagement ring by the Legos. I can't wait to get them back. I think they will be great.

So far so good with Randy, I am glad we did this with him, so now we know what to expect at the wedding, and it's one less thing I will be worried about.

I will post some pics when I get them!

Ok, so back in May, DF and I went to Disney to do some planning for the wedding. We met with Karen from JustMarry and took a look at the ceremony location in which we love and 100% happy with.... I will post more on that later. Anyways, While there, we met with someone from Il Mulino to check the place out and see where our group would be sitting, talk about food and alcohol, etc....

Overall, the restaurant is very nice, lovely in fact. Here are some pics of the facilities to begin with.

The Bar and Entrance...
http://i1004.photobucket.com/albums/af165/24akoch24/Walt%20Disney%20World%20Wedding%20Planning/Il%20Mulino/P1040870Small.jpg

The Courtyard where we were thinking of having the pre-reception/cocktail hour
http://i1004.photobucket.com/albums/af165/24akoch24/Walt%20Disney%20World%20Wedding%20Planning/Il%20Mulino/P1040853Small.jpg

Cool little decorative setting... When you walk into Il Mulino, and get to this point, there is a dining area to the left and a dining area to the right, and there is a good distance between them ( I will get back to this, I swear)
http://i1004.photobucket.com/albums/af165/24akoch24/Walt%20Disney%20World%20Wedding%20Planning/Il%20Mulino/P1040869Small.jpg

So to start, things look great, and I feel like this place is just right. We meet with the manager and she shows us our options of where we could have our party at.

Option A
http://i1004.photobucket.com/albums/af165/24akoch24/Walt%20Disney%20World%20Wedding%20Planning/Il%20Mulino/P1040865Small.jpg
http://i1004.photobucket.com/albums/af165/24akoch24/Walt%20Disney%20World%20Wedding%20Planning/Il%20Mulino/P1040866Small.jpg

Option B
http://i1004.photobucket.com/albums/af165/24akoch24/Walt%20Disney%20World%20Wedding%20Planning/Il%20Mulino/P1040875Small.jpg

So, as I was saying above, there is a dining area to the left of that decorative setting. That would be option A. There is no wall or divider, but it's definitely away from the other part of the dining room, so I was very pleased with that, because I knew we would have a lot of people, and sometimes when we drink, we get out of hand... it's for the good of everyone that we are as secluded as possible

Then there is option B. That is a part of the right side of the restaurant. We weren't thrilled with this option. First of all I don't see how it would hold all our people (There were 70 at this time) and that is what the max is supposed to be. I dunno, to me it seems like it would be squishy. I also didn't like how it was just long, but not really wide, you know?? Like we would have guests waaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyy far away, where as in the option A it would at least be more square and more evenly dispersed if that makes any sense at all. Then there are the dividers, which in theory I should like because of the whole needing to keep my group secluded thing, but in reality I didn't like it because it made the area seem even smaller.... Maybe I'm just being picky but I just wasn't thrilled....

So anyways, no big deal right? Just choose option A right? Well here is where I think I was getting really frustrated with the whole thing... The whole time we are there, the manager was discouraging us from using that first option because the F/B minimum would be so high (even though I kept assuring her we would make it because it would be full dinner and open bar for at least 70 and the math worked out just fine) and that they really don't like to reserve that side if they don't have to so they can fill it with other customers. Which I guess makes sense, but she just kept saying it over and over and over, so it made me question why she showed it to us in the first place. So needless to say, I left here not very satisfied with it. :sad2: We did not however write it off completely yet, because we decide to come back for dinner and at least try the food.

Now mind you, I don't exactly have the most refined tastes and I was coming in already a bit bummed out about our day earlier, so my opinions may not be completely fair, so you may not want to base any of your decisions off this...

To start, our appetizer, Insacatta Misti or sumthin....
Translate: 29$ for a plate of deli meat...
There should be some mozzarella chunks on the empty part of the plate, but we ate them before I remembered to snap a picture...
This was interesting, not bad, just not what I hoped for, and it was something that was in fact on the private dining menu that we would be serving during the cocktail hour, and I was not excited to do so.
http://i1004.photobucket.com/albums/af165/24akoch24/Walt%20Disney%20World%20Wedding%20Planning/Il%20Mulino/P1040888Small.jpg

Bread was good, I love dipping oil too...
http://i1004.photobucket.com/albums/af165/24akoch24/Walt%20Disney%20World%20Wedding%20Planning/Il%20Mulino/P1040890Small.jpg

DFs dinner... He said he liked it... To me it didn't seem like much, but I also hate shrimp so I can't be a good judge (again, not very refined tastes, sorry :confused3)
http://i1004.photobucket.com/albums/af165/24akoch24/Walt%20Disney%20World%20Wedding%20Planning/Il%20Mulino/P1040891Small.jpg

My dinner was good. But not great, the tortellini tastes just like what I would buy frozen and cook up and add sauce to. But that is one of my fave meals though, but I can do it at home, but it was something on the private dining menu so I though I would try it... Nothing to write home about. I would serve it to our guests (minus the peas maybe) but not be excited for it.
http://i1004.photobucket.com/albums/af165/24akoch24/Walt%20Disney%20World%20Wedding%20Planning/Il%20Mulino/P1040892Small.jpg

So all in all, while this place may work great for someone else, DF and I vetoed it... I left very sad and bummed out, and I really think that if that happens, then you probably shouldn't book it... just a hunch...

Soooo, next up will be reception fail # 2.... and then reception fail #3.... and then hopefully reception idea #4 won't be a fail because we are almost in the 6 month mark!!! yikes!:scared::eek::sad2::confused3:confused:

OMG that sucks! Sorry to hear that Il Mulino not working out for you. You have me on the edge of my seat to find out what happened at option 2,3, and 4. Have you thought about a ballroom at the Swan? Karen showed me one when I was considering the S&D and it was nice. I remember it had a patio option.

I did look into the ballrooms at the Swan and Dolphin, that is actually option 3, and we saw the ones with the patio, and of course we loved them... BUT they are ALL booked! But it's OK now, because my 4th option seems to be working out! I will get to it ASAP! Maybe even today!

Ok, so after Il Mulino didn't work out, we racked our brains for some other options. Thanks to you wonderful people on the boards we remembered Fulton's Crab House in DTD. Which actually we were considering for our ceremony as well in the beginning but decided against... for no particular reason really either.

Anyways, we looked into Fulton's again, and went to take a look at it too while we were on our trip in May. And we truly fell in love with the idea. The dining areas are really pretty (not my colors, but I didn't mind changing my colors for it) and they are on an entire floor to themselves! While we didn't get a chance to eat there, I remember eating there many moons ago (many) and I had no complaints then, so I imagined it would be fine food wise. I love that there is a balcony for each of the two dining areas, and I love that it's a boat! And if you haven't guessed yet, DF and I are somewhat partial to DTD because we know that on our random trips to Florida we can at least go there and get our fix for free if we can't get to a park.

So what went wrong? Absolutely nothing with the restaurant. At this point in time, we were only estimating 60-70 people making the trip. This worked perfect with fulton's. Their max is 80 in the bigger of the 2 rooms. Well, somehow, in the last 2 months, out guest count has grown to 96. Now, I'm sure a portion of those still will not make it, and we can possibly be in that 80 mark, BUT I really can't take that risk.... Soooo, back to the drawing boards! Back to freaking out! We are 6 months out and STILL no reception plan!

In comes option #3... Ballrooms at the Swan or Dolphin. I was trying to avoid ballrooms/banquet halls for the pure fact that I feel like I could do that in Ohio. But, at this point, I would go anywhere! And to be honest, I like the idea that I could have dancing there now. In the beginning I told my mom I was fine without it and just a dinner reception at a restaurant would be perfect, even with out dancing... well, things have changed and I think I would miss dancing, so that right there justifies my using a ballroom. Anyways, I spoke with the catering manager at the Swan to see what my options are, and after going back and forth on some things, she gets back to me with the awful news that there is NOTHING available for me on that day...:scared:

Cue the nervous breakdown! Seriously, at this point I had no idea what I was going to do! At allllll!!!!! :confused3:sad2::confused3

Fear not though... There is light at the end of every tunnel, and just this past week I reached mine. :worship: Thank goodness.

Now that I have informed you on the troubles about finding a reception venue that I have been having, I can now finally share with you our final (and successful) option! :woohoo:

I am now a wishes Bride!

(Sorry if I seem overly excited, but I have been so worried about where I would take our 90 guests for dinner!)

We are marked for Atlantic Dance Hall for a 3pm-8pm Cocktail hour and Reception on January 4th, 2011!

How perfect is that? We get married at the Swan at 2 pm (It was originally 4pm, but JustMarry is wonderful and they are able to push it up 2 hours) and then our guest can just walk to ADH for cocktails while we get our boardwalk pics done and then we can eat and party until 8pm! :woohoo::banana::worship::thumbsup2:hippie::cool1:

I am beyond excited for this. Although, I should tame my excitement a pinch since my LOA is not yet finished, which means our deposit is not yet paid, which means that TECHNICALLY they can take that away from me, but I was sent the tentative hold notice, so hopefully that means it is mine while I play the waiting game)

I can breathe again... 'tis a wonderful feeling.

My next decisions that I need to make that I really can't put off anymore:
*Pick Bridesmaids Dresses
*Groomsmen s suits
*My Dress!!!! (Is it odd that this is one detail I dread?!?!?)

I am so happy that you have sorted out your reception - a S/D bride and a Wishes bride, lucky you!!!!
I agree about JustMarry being wonderful. Karen has agreed to stay with me until the bitter end!! I believe that sometimes planners are switched after the booking process is over, but I begged Karen to stay with me and she agreed, so I am thrilled!!
Who is doing your flowers/cake? Are you doing them through JM or are you going your own way?
I will be excitedly following along with all your plans!!
