View Full Version : to mow or not to mow??
The grass was at a crucial point and it has been in the 90's for a little while..
Do you mow when it needs it in drought conditions???
I watered mine for about an hour last night and went ahead and mowed today anyway..

I just had new sod put into my yard last week. The landscaper said not to mow it for at least 3 weeks and then only if the temps moderated and it began to rain. I think it can be too much of a shock to the grass to mow it in drought/heat situations. But then I'm no grass expert -- look at me -- my lawn was so bad, I had to have it dug up and completely replaced! So what do I know!!!:p

but my husband also raised the blades up so it would not be as short as it usually is....that way it doesn't dry out and die as fast.....so far even with the 90's.....we are still sort of green

It's been really dry here too, and very hot. We've been watering but the grass is really taking a beating. Like Pumba we have the blades raised, and don't cut until I can't stand the look of it anymore.
