I heard back from Nancy this morning. She can't guarantee that we won't be seated by the old school scrappers again because I didn't have names. So let's pray we catch a break.

My table gift is 1/2 done. I hope to get the rest of the supplies today and finish those up.

Mom has her project planned out, she just needs to print photos. Me on the other hand, I have no clue what I'm bringing.

I went on the SDV website and it says "check back soon" for classes- I really have vacation planning OCD- I have made lists of what clothes, scrapbooking tools, etc. I am bringing. I do this at work when we are not busy. LOL I did get my pics I ordered today(all 582) :lmao:, so I divided them up into occasions and will start to make kits for the next 2 weeks. I think I found a pink t-shirt last night at the 4th store I stopped at. It's not exactly what I want so I'll still keep an eye out. I also got the iron-ons. Now I have to buy new ink for our inkjet printer. I had no idea you couldn't print iron-ons on a laser jet (we have one at work I was going to use) but I guess it makes sense - iron-ons use heat to set and a laser printer gets very hot. Oh well, we could probably stand to have the inkjet work anyway.

My husband managed to tear his achilies on Wednesday and had surgery on Thursday! I have already ordered him a scooter for our trip and am having a waterproof cast protector shipped to the Polynesian as we speak! Good grief I hope to make it to vacation. :lmao:

I completely forgot about the shirts- so I guess we will do our own thing for that!!! One of the girls in my group got special ones made at DTD last time she was there- so I think we are wearing them on Friday.

Is one of the vendors likely to have a small pair of sharp scissors? I'm trying to figure out if I can get away without checking a bag, and I think the slide cutter for mats/borders will get thru security ok. But a little pair of craft scissors would probably not get through.

I usually drive to WDW, but am flying this time since it's a shorter trip and just me. Probably won't even have enough stuff that I'll need to set up on Thursday (even if I were driving it's hard to imagine carting that much stuff along); I expect I will be watching Wishes over by the Carousel and being sorry that I didn't get to see the different summer show. But, this is my first ever scrap event, so I'm just testing the waters, so to speak -- I'm sure there will be lots of things I will wish I had brought along (but I'm a pretty basic scrapper anyway -- very little stamping, no embossing, etc.).

What time Friday morning do most of you get there? Is there a DIS Divas sign? I suppose we sign in and get directed to the right part of the room?
Obviously a major newbie here -- I'll just be looking for blue shirts, unless I find you late Thursday evening.

Thanks- he is actually doing very well but at the time I was having to make decisions things didn't look so well and I wasn't sure if I would be here or in MD with mom and dad during the weekend. He is undergoing radiation right now but doing very well. They are pretty sure the chemo actually took care of the cancer- they are doing more to make sure they didn't miss anything.

A few older Disney designs that would be great for someone scrapping kid stuff. I'm going to bring it and if any of our group wants any of it, it's yours.

I was considering one of the cards classes (I think it's "wow cards" or something like that) but I don't know if I want to take away 2 hours of cropping time. I know I'll be chatting, eating, shopping, etc. and that will take away enough crop time :laughing:

My white balance is just dandy. However I can not make myself delete the 8000 photos I have of a strangers white teddy bear because he looks like my Mr Bear. Only Mr. Bear isn't so white anymore, maybe I should adjust his white balance. :rotfl2:

An added bonus will be electric access at each table pod so be sure to bring along a table lamp as the lighting in this room upstairs is not as good as the lighting down in the large convention center where we have been for the last few years. You can also bring along your Cricut or laptop especially if you are a digital scrapper. There will NOT be internet access. If you wish you can bring along an additional power strip if you feel you have more things to plug in and an extension cord, if you need to reach the power source at each pod.

Do we want to set that up? What does everyone else think? Nancy's e-mail said to let her know ASAP if we want to set up a portrait time. It looks like they're all after 3:00 pm Fri and Sat. The only time I know I won't be available is Saturday about 6:00 - 9:00 pm because I'm going to dinner with my old roommate (can't wait to see her!).

I'm in for the picture. Broke down and got a pink t-shirt today, but not sure I'll get the graphic onto it. JandJ, will you get that set up for us? (Don't want to have too many people signing us up). I'm glad I had already planned to do pretty simple pages, since it sounds like I will definitely be missing having my big clamp-on light.

I'm going to have to print my iron-ons at my in-laws because I didn't realize ink for our inkjet printer would be $58 :eek: A brand new printer/scanner at Wal-Mart is only $69! So, I'll get my shirts made this weekend.

I'll get a lamp, hopefully one of those with the "bendy" arm. I used to have one, but have no clue what happened to it. I can bring a power strip, too.

I'm not counting today because I'm already up and at the office, so I only have 4 more days of work and then I'm off for my birthday and then it's SDV :yay:

OMG- I am too excited!!! I have my table gifts done now- I have bought everything "scrapbook" ready to pack, and am getting clothes together too. I agree with the rushing thing too. I am also getting my DD together for her first day of school for next week. She will start the day after I come home from SDV.(sunday night)

I'm nowhere near ready. I still need to do my t-shirts. I'm currently working on my table gifts, but something I need for them I'll get at WDW so they will be finished there. I've got some swap stuff kitted up to bring and that's it so far. I have some Christmas card kits that I got on clearance last Christmas that I think I will bring. It'll be a good time to get those done and ready for this year. But, I'm still gonna need other stuff to work on so I'll be kitting up some things for DS's school pages since I'm way behind on it and he's a senior this year so it must be caught up before he graduates. I'm also hoping to have time to kit up some Montana pages too. I'll be doing a hodge podge of stuff!

Packing will be the last thing I do, but at least clothes for WDW are so easy to figure out so that part won't take long. Packing all my scrapping tools will be much harder as I know I'm going to want to bring everything! I'm sure Wednesday I'll be running around like crazy trying to get it all done, but I will be ready to go as soon as DS leaves for school on Thursday morning!

I'm a newbie too and I'm just muddling along trying to figure things out! I've heard that some of the gals give little gifts to everyone at the table (there are 20 of us this year). So, I've made some very simple little somethings to give.

My swap stuff is scrapping things for me to work on for some swaps I'm involved in on the swap board. They are due in September so I need to get busy on them. It's not a swap for SDV.

Not sure what other swap stuff is out there but I'm working on a swap for the ABC albums, it doesn't have anything to do with SDV. I just need non-children time to get it done.

But I'm 1/2 way done painting my new scrap room so the whole house is torn apart.

Boohoo, home from the most magical place on earth, although I have to admit it is good to be home.

SDV was fabulous, already counting down for next year!! Unfortunately the trip was not without drama; first poor Jennifer arrived having a bad reaction to a tetanus shot the day before, dlbwright heard from home her 2 year old son was running a fever and teetering strongly toward dehydration,:scared1: Patty's father passed away, Buffy's Princess Blink broke her arm :scared1:, and I heard on my way to the airport this morning that my DD suffered another seizure. :scared1:

Scrapping was tons of fun though, my table mates were MomE, JandJ, DisneyisTerrific, dlbwright, MomK, and two other ladies from KY that we just met. There were adorable table gifties by Jennifer, Stephanie, Nikki, and Buffy. Thank you, ladies. :hug: Breakfast at Ohana's was yummy, the juice really good. It was fun to gap with board friends in person, good to met new friends, and see others again. :) Pam, I am still loving that purse!!

I did a total of 5 layouts. :rotfl2: I did do other projects too, but I think it is funny, two days of scrapping and only five layouts. Saw some gorgeous, gorgeous work. Stephanie, I still think your birdie layout is fine as it.

Had an issue checking our luggage at the resort. Ended up being 12 minutes too late to check it at the resort, had to load it into the car and check it ourselves. It left us scrambling to get to the airport in time and I really didn't get a chance to properly say goodbye to everyone. So I'll say Aloha, until we meet again.

Hi all! I hope everyone had/is having safe travels home. It was so great to see everyone from last year and make new friends! Lisa covered all the bad stuff :sad2: Lisa, so sorry to hear your DD had a seizure :hug:

But there was a lot of good stuff, too! I'm glad y'all liked the favor boxes and thank you for your fun favors! We had a great breakfast at Ohana, I can't wait to see our picture with Pluto, I loved laughing so hard during and after our photo session, wearing pajamas and the late night dance party, and lots of beautiful pages completed! I finished our Washington DC trip book (we went in 2008 so it was about time to get that book done :laughing:). I made a big dent in our Mexico trip book and in my friend's Goddaughter's book. And best of all, being there with all you fun and crafty ladies gave me the scrapping bug again! Prior to last week I hadn't scrapped a single page since April or May and now I definitely have the desire to get pages done again - so thank you!

This was my first time going to SDV and I had a fabulous time!!!! Loved it and can't wait to go back next year. I stayed over Sunday night and had a wonderful morning at AK on Monday where I got to have my picture taken with Thumper!!!! I was so excited as I've never seen Thumper before. That was the perfect ending to a wonderful weekend!

Our session with "the photographer" was definitely interesting and the photos were hilarious as they show that we don't follow directions well. It's a good thing we are doing our own group photo next year as he will run when he sees us coming!:rotfl:

The Ghiradelli chocolates really are a little to thick for these, but it worked. My original plan was to use the character chocolate coins you can get at the parks, but I decided I wanted them finished before I left home rather than finishing them up while at WDW. I put a dab of adhesive on the back of the chocolate wrapper so make sure it didn't fall out of the card.

The D&B ones are VERY nice - and the ship is full of the cute Cruise design ones (they didn't have the "regular" ones onboard, but they are in many of the park shops.)

I was lucky, I got to try out calanniebu's D&B Disney (medium) purse before leaving. Although I loved it, the shoulder strap didn't work well for me, so I didn't feel bad about skipping one. But, at the parks, we all LOVED the D&B wallet - but at $175....:rolleyes1, we'll wait a bit on this for more generous CM or other discounts.

I really love the Harvey bag - it fits me very well and is kinda off-beat in a "me" sort of way...:lovestruc

I Love the Harvey's line. (DH restores 50's cars so it fits in great!) I got mine at TrendD in Early May. They hold up nicely, and clean great!! I hadn't seen the Mickey one before either. Mine has a red Mickey Head interior. I just LOVE it!!! (and the P-AP discount doesn't hurt either!!! ;) )
