View Full Version : Ko Olina Resort Model Unveiled at D23
DVCnews.com has a short video showing a model of Disney's Ko Olina Resort. It appears Ko Olina may have a rather fancy pool. Here is the link: http://www.dvcnews.com/index.php/hawaii--ko-olina-resorts-175/1038-dvc-hawaii-model-video. The model was on display at the D23 convention this past week.

Interesting that they should have a quiet pool on the right of the resort when looking at it from the entryway. Would this indicate that the right wing will be DVC?

Thanks for sharing the link. The slide (if that is what is in the volcano/rock formation looking thing) looks like fun! :goodvibes

Interesting... if I'm thinking correctly.. doesn't it seem like it doesn't have a lot of 'direct towards the beach' views?
If it's shaped like..
ocean
-( pool )-
lobby
wouldn't only the 'upper' part of the - and the most 'upper' parts of the ( and ) face the ocean
everything inside faces pool, and then the opposite side would face allinui driver/the golf club

We took some shots today. When I get a chance, I'll post them.
One thing to note, it looks like a lot of the center space between the buildings is almost like a water park. Pretty cool...

I think you may be correct with the history of DVC quite pools, although it is a big one and looks "sand edged"

That may be because the DVC wings were added to existing resorts after the original resorts were designed---adding people means you need to add pool capacity.
This is being designed as a combination resort from the ground up, so I wouldn't necessarily assume that the pool placement means much.

Thanks for posting the link. It looks like a wonderful resort. I sure hope they plan on different view catagories. It looks like they will have oceanfront, oceanview and island/garden view rooms. I'm anxious to see the point structure. I would love to have enough points there for 2-3 nights before or after our Maui Ocean Club week (Marriott). There is nothing quite like an oceanfront room in Hawaii...the stress just melts away.
