Photos constantly to red, what am I doing wrong?

Hi everyone,

I have a panasonic tz5 that I've only had for a couple months, when I first got it (about a week after having it) took it to Disney World and shot most of my photos in iAuto (though I played around with some other settings to), but my photos came out good and I was pleased with the camera.

Recently I took the camera out again to use around my home and every single indoor picture I took (on iAuto) came out screaming red.

I used the camera outside and the picture came out just fine, so it must be something with the indoor lighting.

I took pictures of people just sitting/standing in my house and the pictures were unusable because of the red tones overpowering the pictures. I took the camera with me to a birthday party (indoors) and had the same problem, on iAuto and every other preprogramed setting I tried the pictures came out overpoweringly red.

I am not sure what I am doing wrong or if it's just the indoor lighting, but I'd like to figure out if there is going to be anything I can do to fix my indoor pictures. Anyone have any suggestions?

I guess it's odd to me because I haven't had this problem with any of the indoor pictures I took up until recently.

My first suggestion would be to check your white balance settings :confused3

Can you post some examples either through Flickr or photobucket or something, so we can see what you're talking about?

It definitely sounds like a white balance issue - it probably somehow get accidentally changed. Usually it's best to leave it in "Auto", maybe manually switch to "Tungsten" for indoor or late-night outdoor photos (both without flash.)

You can probably tweak the existing photos to get them halfway decent but not as good as if they were shot in Auto WB originally.

I wonder how I change the white balance? Sorry I'm tech challenged when it comes to cameras, but I will check my manual and see what info I can find about white balance and I will also try to upload an example photo.
