We are getting married in northen VA/DC area, leaving for disney honeymoon, then returning to our home in central PA...so you think it would be worth driving to JFK airport, almost 5 hours, fly jet blue for SUPER cheap to orlando, then flying back to JFK and then driving to our PA home about 3 and a half hours away...as opposed to flying out of DC for about 250 a person and then flying back to DC and driving three and half hours to PA...what do you think?

If you are going to be in DC area, you might want to drive DOWN to Newport News, VA (approx 3 hours), get AIRTRAN from there.

No, I wouldn't do it. When you factor in the gas, tolls (which are not cheap here) and parking costs, not to mention the amount of time spent driving, which could wind up being a lot longer then 5 hours, what would you really be saving? If you haven't driven on L.I. traffic can be brutal getting across the crossings, and on a really bad day, the highways can be at a stand still. Don't get me wrong though, sometimes you breeze right on or off the Island (even during rush hour), there is just no rhyme or reason as far as traffic patterns on L.I. are concerned. I would look at other alternatives if I were you.

I'd check SWA out of Baltimore. They have some great specials. And it's only a little drive.

Allentown's Lehigh Valley Airport just started service with SouthEast airlines $59 each way. 1-800-fly-seal, maybe you'd want to check them out.

Also checkout Atlantic City International Airport... it is much closer to you than JFK and you can usually get a pretty good deal on a direct flight to Orlando on Spirit Air.
Enjoy!
