You did a great job. You have a very steady hand with that 1/15sec shot. Did you shoot these in RAW or JPG? If you did not shoot in RAW I would recommend doing it next time. You can make these even better by playing a little with the WB and saturation. I took the liberty of taking your jail scene and somewhat correcting it. Harder to do with a JPG. Anyway this is what I got.

You got some nice images there! I took a stab at this ride last week and it's a tough one. Here's what I think was my best shot:

Nice job!

I definitely agree with GoofyontheHiSeas about shooting PotC in Raw so you have more room to adjust the WB. The lighting in PotC is so hot toward the end, it's really tough to get the colors accurate.

Great job. In some parts of POTC the lighting can be very warm and theatrical, evoking the feel of light from flaming torches or lanterns. In compensating for the excessive color cast in post-processing, it's possible to go too far in an attempt to get "correct" white balance. Some times "correct" can be boring. For POTC I like keeping the shots a bit warm.

Here's my take on cooling down your first pick. I did this in two minutes in a very old version of PSE on my office computer (not calibrated). I just applied a couple of levels adjustments to the green and blue channels on separate layers.

Looks nice! Here are my 1st attempts (from last week) with a Sigma 30mm on an XSi. I didn't do a whole lot of PP on these; mostly just sharpening/noise reduction.

:worship: ... this makes me very happy - we'll be taking our T1i and Sigma 30mm f/1.4 with us in October - hoping ours will turn out as well as these!!

I'm not very familiar with the T1i and its ISO performance, but yes you should be able to get some nice shots in PotC, especially with the 30mm on it.

The T1i has expanded ISO capability (up to 12800) whereas my our Xti only had 1600. We tried shots with the Xti and our 50mm f/1.8 and got OK results, so are definitely looking forward to the new camera and lens in October.
