Hi everyone!
Friends of mine in the military, active duty, want to go to WDW in about 5 weeks, after the DH comes back from 6 months deployment at sea. What's the current status of SOG?? Any info is appreciated. Thanks!!!!! :D

Yes! SOG guests will still be sent to CR for the next year or so! They should call today and get on the waiting list(books 1 year out, chance of a cancellation I suppose) OR ask for overflow rate to a Disney resort:) ! :)

They must call SOG for a room at CR OR for Overflow rates:D !
Number is (888) 593-2242. http://www.armymwr.com/shades/index.html
Good luck to them! We have always wanted the overflow rates, but trying the CR for our next trip!

Your welcome!:D
Our rate is $95, depends on rank(DH is a reservist, 0-4). Highest rate is $99 I think.

There are usually overflow rates if you can't get the CR.

Constuction on SoG started in April, and was slated to last 18 months.

Sounds like they got PO-R:D ! Good choice, we enjoy it there. We have got $99(before tax) in the summer twice with the overflow rate, sounds like the rate they got! :) Hope they enjoy it too.

SeaSpray:
Does your friend really need to pay $15 for the trundle bed? AFAIK all the rooms in the North Wing include the day bed since it's the couch. I would guess that a shortish person (under 5' 8") would fit OK on it. Or ... are they paying for a 5th person?

It sounds like they have over flow rates for PO not SoG rooms in the NGW.

Firstno, is there any reason why construction has not begun? And do you have any idea how long that will delay the opening? Thanks

No doubt!! RUMOR has it that we did/do not have a roofing contractor nor a general contractor, but this is just rumor. As I've mentioned before, downward communication is almost non-existant so, it's difficult to find out what the real hold up is. At the rate they're going, I don't think they'll reopen until Jan 04 (this is personal opinion and NOT fact!!). Rumor now has it that we'll begin ground breaking on Aug 1, but I'm not betting the house on it. :)
