Yes, you will find that most of the items offered at the Food and Wine Festival are 1 snack credit.

Thanks - I thought you could, but the CM's on the phone are telling me differently.

I suppose it's possible that something has changed for the 2009 Festival since it hasn't started yet. I hope not!!

It's also possible the CMs on WDW-DINE are incorrect. They're incorrect a lot.

All we can say for sure is it's been allowed for every food and non-alcoholic beverage item for the past two years (before that it was only items that cost under $4 but starting in 2007 it was all items).

Here is a list of the countries and food and wine items. We were there the last 3 years the last week in Sept. beginning of Oct, (pretty crowded the first week of the fest.), and the SC was allowed, but this year we hope it is and going the last week in Oct. so I hope the fest. is a little less crowded then the opening week. One thing- all the foods looks great but some isn't so good so just get 1 of an item to see if you like it first, I never thought I would hate potato cakes.

I sure hope so - we'll be saving several credits to use for this!

In the past, yes they have allowed SCs to be used.

However, I think we have to wait until F&W actually starts to know for sure this year. They have been making many changes to what is allowed as a SC over the last couple of weeks... so who knows if this will continue into F&W.

Hopefully, they didn't change it, but I do have to say that I spoke with 2 CM's & the sounds I was hearing on the phone, indicated they were both picking up some type of paper & searching for my answer.

They both pretty much said, "Oh yeah, here it is, it says that you can not use snack credits at the F&W Festival."

I sure hope it's not a change that was recently implemented.

You know what if you can't use the SC at the F & W there is always the Kringla Bakeri at Norway, Summerfest in Germany and Boulangerie Patisserie in France with much better Snack Credit items.
So for me no big deal to me since beer and wine you have to pay OOP for anyway.
So I will grab a beer at a F & W kiosk and head to Summerfest in Germany for a pretzel, Kringle for a School bread or France for an eclair. :cool1::hippie:

I keep reading about School Bread, what is it?

It's like a large Bavarian cream filled donut, topped with vanilla icing and coconut. At kringla they also have a sweet pretzel topped with icing and almonds. They have many items we love just sitting there at the Kringlla and eating sweets and DW always calls her friend who would know we are at Disney and says guess where I am, they always call each other from the Kringla and rub it in. :hippie::cool1:

Just ask when you get there. I've had CM's tell me the wrong thing before too.

It's not a huge deal, because I know the snack credits will get used, but I was just wondering. Love the bakery in France, BTW!

Thanks everyone!

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that we can still use snack credits! I really want to snack my way around the world using DDP!!:cool1::cool1::cool1:

I'm hoping we can use SC at F&W as well but I got a bad feeling they won't allow it this year. Just my luck.

That would stink:mad: I have been planning on saving my snack credits to cover F&W Fest. If I can't use them, that will seriousely cut into my eating plans.

If they aren't accepted for snacks at the F&W Festival I'll be bummed, but it looks like there are still many great uses for snack credits around the World Showcase as a backup plan:

That's for sure! One of the reasons I went with the DxDDP was for the extra snack credits to use at the F&W Festival booths. I'm not usually much of a snacker down there, so I'll have 16 snack credits to use up somehow.

I'd say it's official now, this was posted over on the F&W sticky on the main Restaurant page:

You can see that the items have the snack symbol next to them

AWESOME! Thanks for posting! That settles the question about whether to allocate a full day to Epcot or not (my kids are 2 and 4, not exactly Epcot-aged, but this really settles it for me) besides our first evening. It also makes me feel better about not getting ADRs to some of the popular Epcot places. woohoo!

Just been admiring the F&W photos on the main site, the ddp snack credits sign is everywhere - hooray, now to ensure that I share the 28 credits for the family out fairly so that's six for me, 1 for DH, six for me one for DD, six for me one for DS, seven for me....... Only trying to keep the family healthy you understand.

Thanks for the link! :thumbsup2

Comparing the images with the photos on the DIS gallery (http://photopost.wdwinfo.com/showgallery.php/cat/1003), there are a couple of discrepancies. It looks like the images from the Sun Sentinal were slightly older and a few menus have been updated for the actual event.
The only differences for the DDP are:

San Juan: The three food items are DDP Snack eligible (shown as not on the SS menu)

Tokyo: Tuna Sensation $5.75 - NOT eligible
Sukiyaki Beef Roll $4.00 - eligible

Does anyone know if there is a brochure listing all of the menus for F&W at Epcot? I'm trying to plan on what I would like to sample and avoid being full before I am halfway around the world. If there is not one I will have to put my own together before I go. Anyone seen something like this yet?

You may not, however, use a snack credit to purchase the $5.75 Tuna Sensation at the Japan kiosk. This appears to be the only exclusion.

Yea, we're banking our free dining plan snack credits for the festival. Now, we'll have to plan how to use them to get the most bang for our buck!

We were there on Friday and I LOVED being able to use snack credits at the F&W festival. What a great use of a snack credit!
