What kind of veggies do you put in a vegetable tray, besides the usual carrots, celery, and cucumber sticks? I'm trying to think of something new and interesting.

plus sliced radishes, raw broccoli, raw cauliflower, grape or cherry tomatoes, sometimes fresh snowpeas, strips of fresh summer squash or zucchini...and I make a really good and easy dip...you use 1/2 cup miracle whip, 1/2 cup any kind of bbq sauce you like, tablespoon chopped pickle relish, and 1 hard cooked egg chopped up..you can easily double or triple the recipe..and it seems to go well with all kinds of veggies!

Thanks.

BTW, I like your picture of Alex (Mick). I'm not sure I'm going to like him as well as a doctor. He was a good vampire. :lovestruc

We always include strips of red & green peppers, but I blanch the broccoli & cauliflower first as many people don't like the raw taste. Grape or cherry tomatoes are a good addition as well as blanched green & yellow beans.

When I'm making a really nice one I steam asparagus for just a minute or two until it's bright green and then chill it quickly in ice water. I do the same for green beans if asparagus is too expensive, but the aspargus does taste better imho.

I add broccoli rabe and asparagus and parboil instead of plain brocoli.

I do the same thing. It makes them softer also.
