(EDIT: WE ORIGINALLY PLANNED FOR AUGUST, BUT NOW CHANGED TO SEPTEMBER! So, of course all of the August talk in the beginning of this report no longer applies!) MY STEPSON CHANGED HIS MIND AND IS NO LONGER COMING WITH US SO WE SWITCHED OUR RESORT! WE ARE NOW STAYING AT PORT ORLEANS RIVERSIDE!!!

We're getting married on the 4th of July, 2010 and then going to Disney in September!!!!

I started up a pre trip report a few months ago, but so much has been going on over the summer it just got lost in the shuffle and plans have already changed. Sooooooo!!!!!!!!! Here are the new plans! And the start of a new PTR!! Cause i'm crazy :rolleyes1

I would like to go the last week of September for 8 nights! I can't wait

So, here I am, Pam: I am of course the planner of these trips, dh and the kids are just along to enjoy it.
http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k296/3princesses-aprince/2009_0513FX.jpg

My Dh, Manny: He really doesn't understand the need to go back to Disney again so soon.....Ummmm....... I don't know what to say. But, I am glad that although he does not understand it, he just goes along with whatever!!!
http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k296/3princesses-aprince/2009_0515AC.jpg

Anthony, 13, my stepson: He loved our first trip in May, he loves all family vacations. I guess he just enjoys being together  He's very sweet, and he's always helping me out with his little sisters whenever he can. He is 13 and is more of a teenager every day, kind of sad, but very cute. He will just be turning 14 right before our trip.

http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k296/3princesses-aprince/2009_0516DI.jpg

Emily dd10: Our first baby girl and she's growing up. She is more of a "girl" now than a child, if that makes sense. She likes to be in her room and listen to music. She likes lipstick and nail polish now. She...... made me ride Expedition Everest in May, I was terrified. I hated it, I thought I was going to die on it....... Anthony wouldn't even ride that thing. I had no idea she was going to spring that on me....... When I heard those words shout out excitedly " I wanna ride that" I cringed!!!!!! I did buy the pic of us on the ride and it is in a frame in my living room. I LOVE IT!!!! I would obviously do anything for my kids. She will be turning 11 right before our trip.
http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k296/3princesses-aprince/2009_0513FS.jpg

Lizzie dd8: Our little munchkin. She has the best personality in the whole wide world. She is always happy and so easy to please, you can only imagine how happy this Disney trip made her. She loves Dumbo and we had to get up super early and get to MK to ride it just for her. We are more night people and not so much early risers, but we HAD to get on Dumbo and we did and Lizzie was SO HAPPY!!!!!!! She was in all her glory on that elephant. We also searched every gift shop for the perfect Dumbo before we bought the "right" one. So cute. I'll never forget this moment for the rest of my life. We were on the water taxi going over to play mini golf and Lizzie looked at me and said "This is the best vacation ever" in her sweet little voice. I almost cried. She will be turning 9 right before our trip. I know, I know, all of these summer birthdays!!
http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k296/3princesses-aprince/2009_0515AD.jpg

Sam, dd5: Our spoiled little princess. She will be 6 in March, so 6 and a half for our trip. She loves all of the princesses but she also loves Wall e, and Lightening Mcqueen and Jack Sparrow and Captain Hook.... You get the point. Little Mermaid is her favorite and the excitement level was extreme while we were waiting in line at her Grotto, let me tell ya. The faces on the kids while waiting in lines will never be forgotten as long as I live. They were so thrilled all week, and I can't wait to give that to them again. Sam is my little monster, she has a little attitude on her. So doesn't Emily, but that is to be expected from a 10 yr old. I'm in for trouble with this one, I know.:headache:
http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k296/3princesses-aprince/2009_0513CA.jpg

So that is us and here we are in my most favorite pic in the world.
http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k296/3princesses-aprince/2009_0513BQ.jpg

I Can't forget to say either, that Manny and I never actually got married. We've been together since Anthony was only 22 months old but just never got married. I guess we just always wanted to spend our money on other things. Well we are getting married On the 4th of July, 2010!!!

SO WE HAVE A WEDDING AND A DISNEY TRIP TO PLAN AND IN MY PLANNING EYES, NOT TOO MUCH TIME TO DO IT IN.

I figured I wouldn't be counting this as our Honeymoon, but kind of changed my mind, because well, it is just that. Can't wait to celebrate that there!! Manny and I will go away for a night or two right after the wedding just to do something fun, but we're not too sure what yet. But then we'll be getting ready for our Disney Trip!!

The kids are very happy we are finally getting married. The Girls are excited they will wear pretty dresses for Mom and Dad to get married and Anthony has been asking us when we are getting married since he was 5. He always said " I want you to really be my stepmom" and my answer to him was always the same "even though we are not married, I am your stepmom kid, i've been through you life with you, I washed your bottles and dried your tears, I was there for your soccer games every saturday at an ungodly hour and I was at your dentist appointment when you had to have your tooth pulled and needed someone to wipe your numb, drooling mouth, if that isn't a stepmom, I don't know what is"

Well, I think that is a good start to my pre trip report!!! We were so busy all summer and now I am relaxing, and starting to think more about the wedding and our DISNEY TRIP!!!!

Joining in! We just got back from our first-ever summer visit to WDW. We swore we would never do it since we're midwesterners but my sister and I are too obsessed...so we finally decided to just go for it! Yeah it was hot but it wasn't all that bad.

Can't wait to hear more of your plans!

We are going to stay at the All Star Music Suites!!!! I kind of went back and forth trying to decide if I wanted 2 connecting rooms again or if we should try the suite. I asked Manny and showed him the pics of the suite and his answer was " hmmm, nice, either one, I don't care" Do you see what i'm dealing with here. So, I, all by myself, decided, why not try something different. So the Suites it is!!!! They are in the Jazz and Calypso buildings and we will be requesting the Calypso building because those are right by the pool and food court/Melody Hall. We want to be close so we can refill our mugs all day. We had the mugs in May and are definitely getting them again, they were wonderful. I'm so excited.

Me and the kids have been looking at the All Star Music pictures here on the dis and we saved a few to print out and put on our new countdown calendar when we get it going. The suites look great, as well as the guitar shaped pool and the large music icons. I wanna go now

OH AND OF COURSE WE ARE HOPING FOR FREE DINING TO BE GOING ON AGAIN FOR 2010!!! KEEPING MY FINGERS CROSSED!!!

Some crazy ride that Anthony wanted to go on. I think I disliked this almost as much as Expedition Everest. (But EE is in Disney, so I would do that again)

If anyone has any fun pictures at the All Star Music resort, I would LOVE to see them. I've seen a lot and I know it's basically on the same idea as the Movies, but I can't get enough!!!!!!

:confused3Welcome back Pam!!! I'm super excited to see that you started another PTR. I hope the wedding plans are going great. A good friend that I work with with is more than likely going to get married in October 2010 and has asked me to be in her wedding- I am helping her plan it, and that is very exciting for me!!! We are still planning to take Austin back to wdw in 2010- more than likely in September/early October maybe. I would like to do the end of August because the park closer later than in September, but it is just sooo hot then- plus not to mention peak hurricane season. However, I would definitely recommend hurricane season because the crowds are a little lighter, and if you happen to get caught in a hurricane or tropical storm like we did (Faye '08 woo hoo)- you are more likely to not have to wait in any lines- which was a little wet but GREAT!!!!:banana::banana:
Who am I kidding- anytime to be in wdw is great :wizard:!!!!!

I can't wait to start my very first PTR. I think I am going to do it within the next couple of months or whenever I put up my deposit for the trip.:confused3

Oh and by the way, I stayed at All Star Music back in '99 and '00- before the suites. I thought they were great- almost similar to the Movies Resort, but not as much character theming. I stayed in Calypso in the big Marimba building, and back in the Cowboy boot section. Food Court was great- especially the caesar salads and pizza just like at Movies. Best of luck in the suites and let me know how it is.

By the way, I had read earlier that you were homeschooling- and am really interested to know how that is going. I have an almost 4 year old who just misses the cut off date for preschool this year, and I was thinking of doing like a little "pre-home schooling" for him, just to get his feet wet. I cannot do it during the day because I work a 9-5 job in the wonderful world of Accounting everyday- but would like to try a little at night or maybe on the weekends when I am off. Who knows, I just thought it might be a good idea :confused3:confused3:confused3

pixiedustprincess, you're just making me nervous with the heat and hurricane talk. You're going to make me reconsider our plans again...... We do have a whole 11 months , so plenty of time to change plans!!! Who knows!!! What I am set on is that in 2010 we are going to Disney World  And as for the homeschooling we decided to keep the kids in school. After talking about it, they ended up saying that they would miss school, their friends and what they got to do there. See, I was feeling too guilty about keeping them home, especially the younger two that love to go to school. All is going well so far, they started on August 31st, everyone is happy!!! Everyone has the teachers that they were hoping for and we already have Open House next week. I get to go see the classrooms and meet their teachers.

SPEAKING OF THE FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL, HERE ARE SOME PICS!!!!

So I had a silly dream last night!! I was with my boss at some field and he said, "oh, come this was, it's a shortcut and we can see the Magic Kingdom"????? So we walked through this little forest and we were standing by the pool at the Calypso buildings of All Star Music. So I was looking at the numbers of the rooms so that when I made my reservation I would know what room to book!!!!!!!! Unfortunately the numbers were 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, etc..... I think some of them were labled with letters too. So, I don't think I request such a thing.

I woke up realizing that that was my first Disney Dream of many to come while i'm waiting to go. While I was planning my last trip and was down to just a few weeks to go, I had dreams all the time!!!!

Ah, Disney Dreams :cloud9:

I was telling my co workers at work last night that we are going back to Disney and everyone was excited, they all had so much fun planning with me last time and can't wait to get started again. One of them already said "Oh, you better start looking and pricing it out" I said, Oh, let me tell you, i'm way ahead of schedule then. I'm ready to pack lol

when we homeschooled; our kids went back strictly for the socialization (we could not find a group we were comfortable with)!

I think we are going back the WDW the wk after thanksgiving 2010! I'm trying to talk DH into the last wk of Jan 2010 but I really don't think it will happen!

planning for the next year should be lots of fun between the both of us:yay:

I am soooo sorry I made you nervous. But actually, I would definitely go again in August. I think the schools in Florida start like the last two weeks of August, so you really don't have all those crowds. Don't worry about the hurricanes- hurricane season I think runs from May to November- we just happened to get stuck in one- which would probably be highly unlikely for that to happen again :confused3. But it was the best trip ever. August should be great for you so you don't have to take the kids out of school. Who knows- we may have to go the very end of August next year because Austin will be starting preschool :cool1:.

I can't wait to start planning our trip- sometimes I think that is half the fun the anticipation of going. And don't worry, we definitely have our fingers crossed on the free dining plan- which will determine how long we stay. If it is not free, we'll probably do 4 days/ 3 nights, if it is 6 days/7 nights. Who knows- we just cannot wait to go back!!!:cool1::cool1::cool1:

Happy Planning:banana:!!!!

By the way, your girls are adorable and looked so thrilled to be going back to school!!!!

Oh, I was just kidding, that's ok. I am getting that from a lot of people though. "August???? What are you thinking" But we're not going to be standing on a curb at 3pm waiting for the parade, melting away, we'll be in the pool during the hottest hours. The pool is one of their favorite things. No matter what we were doing while we were there in May if Manny and I were ready for a break, "pool" is all we had to say and they were ready to go. I don't know why. but we'll certainly be in the pool a lot next trip. Plus we'll have our misting fans that we bought for our first trip, which were lifesavers, I don't think we would have been as happy as we were without them.

Ok, so seeing how we are a family of 6, things do not come cheap for us. So for dining, i'm thinking about going with the quick service plan again (which we really liked) if free dining is not offered next year. If free dining is offered I CANNOT wait to try out the regular DDP. I know I read somewhere that if you stayed in a value you would get the free QDP but could upgrade to the DDP for the difference, that's cool. Seeing how this was the 5th consecutive year for the free ddp, I am REALLY hoping for it!!!!

Even if we are on the DDP I will still buy the mugs, they were absolutely worth it and because of the heat, i'm sure we will be back at the hotel for a swim break every day, so they will come in even more handy than they did for us in May. I recommend the mugs to all. Not sure how we would have done it without them. We even filled them before taking off for the parks. I LOVED THEM. Now, they come on outings with us and they come to work with me. I just love them. After so many washes though the designs are starting to wear off a little, I can't wait to get new ones. I'm hoping for a new design too.

Ok, so like I said when we went we had the quick service plan so I didn't have the fun of making adrs, I am very excited about that.

So here is my list of restaurants that I have been thinking about.

Sci Fi dine in: MUST DO
Chef Mickey's: MUST DO
T-REX: MUST DO
Yak and Yeti: MUST DO
San Angel Inn
Chefs de France (because Emily loves France and the Eiffel tower)
Akershus
1900 Park Fare
Whispering Canyon Cafe
Crystal Palace (I think I read here that it was rumored to be closing????)
Tusker House
Tony's **

I'm not going to get too into restaurants yet, cause with 11 months out, something new could come out or something could close. I sure do hope CP is not closing. We did not see Pooh and the gang at all in May, so we would love to see them there.
But if anyone has any suggestions I would like to hear them so I can look into other restaurants as well. Although by the time we go i'm sure I will have scoped out every one.
But that's what I was doing today..... checking out some restaurants, I know the kids would really enjoy the character ones. This way too, if there is a long line somewhere to see Mickey, we'll now we're going to see him at Chef Mickey's, we won't have to kill ourselves waiting in line.

I hope CP is not closing; I am sooo looking forward to doing that next year! It is said to be ONE of the best. We did it in '96 and the kids loved it!
I would really like to try Whispering Canyon when we go as well as the mut do's on your list!
Akershus-- I have read that the food was not that great but that the princess interaction was the best!

I know what you mean about wanting to start planning! I don't even have my set date yet and I just want to start planning! I hope they bring back the free dining; I'm sure it is the only way we will do the dining plan. I just feel I can do it for less! I did in May, we loved the refillable cups too! that is a must do!!! we would fill it every morning and than again on our way to the busses and when we got off the busses!!! and again before we hit the beds!

At the moment I'm hopping for a really good deal to come out for Jan/Feb 2010! maybe just maybe I can talk him into going than. If not we are going to book the week after Thanksgiving!
Later :wave2: Connie

Yeah, Whispering Canyon just sounds like so much fun and I have also heard that the food at Akershus wasn't great either, but that's ok, cause we're going for the Princesses!!!!

Good Luck waiting for your deal for jan/feb. i'm sure something good will come out. I think we would have wanted to go back in May again if we didn't have the wedding in July, but we want to make the trip after the wedding!!!

So, I figured i'd put up some pictures of where we're getting married. We are not catholic so it will not be at a church. We picked a really nice place where they'll set up a ceremony area and then of course we'll have the reception. We've been there before so we know the food is great!!!
Here are some pictures of the front entrance and of our room that we took when we went to put the deposit down!!

Here is the room, a little plain, cause it's not set up for a wedding.

So, that's where it will be on July 4th, 2010. The wedding will be from 11:30-4pm.

We pretty much know what we will be ordering off the menu. We're not too set on the colors or centerpieces yet, but we have plenty of time for that. My Mom's friend's husband will be marrying us, we know a DJ and my brother's girlfriend makes cakes, so I believe she will be making our wedding cake. So I think we're doing pretty good for plans.

After Christmas we'll finalize the menu and the colors and centerpieces, we haven't thought about favors yet either.

But I can't wait to go shopping for dresses for me and the girls and of course , the RINGS. I've been looking and i'm just so excited about the rings. The girls are most excited about their pretty dresses.

So, that's my little wedding update!!

Oh, and Manny and I will go "away" for a night or two after the wedding, we're just not too sure yet. We know we want to do something FUN!!

Wow that place looks really pretty-even not set up for a wedding. I'm sure it will look very elegant once it is set up for a wedding with all of the flowers and such.

Ok, the only place that I have eaten on your list is the Crystal Palace. We ate there for dinner our 2nd or 3rd night. The atmosphere and the characters are wonderful- they really try there best to get to every table for a picture and an autograph. Pooh, Piglet, Eeyore, and Tigger are there. The food isn't the greatest (in fact, if we ever went back there, it would probably be for breakfast)- however the atmosphere is just magical and wonderful:wizard:.

I would definitely recommend the Grand Floridian Cafe. Their NY Strip Steaks with the balsamic glaze (I think that's what it was?) :confused3 was just DELICIOUS. Austin was 2 at the time and we could not put him on the DDP, so he usually shared off of our menus- however, we were going to buy him chicken noodle soup and the CM brought it out complimentary. We also could not decide what we wanted for dessert, so she brought us this to go box with mini cheesecakes, mini key lime pies, and a few other things. It really was great. The Grand Floridian Resort itself was beautiful- and if you're lucky, you may see a Princess wandering around.

I am looking into O'hana's at the Poly' for our next trip. The menu looks great. Oh, by the way, there is this great site that you may already know about called allears.net and they have a listing of every restaurant and togo cart in wdw along the current menus, prices, and reviews. I highly recommend this site. That is where I turned to when I mad ADR's for our August '08 trip. They also have pictures of all of the hotels and much much more. :cool1:

Thanks, I have been on the website before, but didn't look into too much, i'll definitely check it out now! And thanks for the restaurant suggestion, I'm going to check that one out. I know we'll enjoy eating at restaurants at other hotels!
And yes, I did hear that the food at CP was just........ whatever. But, we're definitely going for the character experience. When we went in May, we did not see Winnie the Pooh and friends anywhere.

So on our last trip in May I surprised my family with renting the boat in DTD. Manny has always wanted to drive one, and the kids loved it as well. It ended up being a great surprise. They all still talk about it as being so amazing, especially Manny :lovestruc

So, now, i'm thinking how can we go back and I don't have a surprise for them again. So, as I was looking around here on the dis I found................ The Wishes and Illuminations Cruises!!! :yay: I want to do one SOOOOO bad. How would that be for a surprise!!! They would LOVE that!! And so wouldn't I, of course.

So, any suggestions on which one I should book? Right now I'm thinking that I would go with the Wishes cruise. You gotta just LOVE Wishes!!! I haven't looked into when I can book yet, i'll do that after I post this, but I'm sure I have plenty of time to think about it.

Has anyone ever done this? I'd love to hear about your experience and see pics if you have them!!

So I can book the cruise 90 days out. I know i'll have to set my alarm and be ready to book it the second that I can. I'm really excited about this. But now I see that there is the Pirates and Pals cruise, which looks really neat. You can see Captain Hook and Mr. Smee and than at the end of the Cruise Peter Pan is waiting. During the cruise, before Wishes, the CM on the boat sings songs and asks Disney questions. I'm just not sure if that will be too much. My girls like pirates and Peter Pan, but....... They're not little boys, so i'm not sure if they'll enjoy THAT much, but they might, so i'm not sure, i'll have to think about it. I posted on the Disney for Family's thread about these cruises too ,but haven't gotten any info back yet. I'm pretty sure that I will do one of the Wishes ones though. I'm sure Illuminations will be nice too, but Wishes is just so special.

Funny thing is i'm listening to Disradio right now and Wishes is playing. So I'm really thinking about this cruise now!!!!

Any advice and/or suggestions about my cruise!! Thanks for any info you can give!!!

That sounds like a wonderful idea. I have heard of the Wishes Cruise, but not the Pirates and Pals cruise- which sounds like something Austin would love!!! I think you all would enjoy the Wishes Cruise. I also know that have that hot air balloon ride in DTD, I was thinking about doing that on our next trip-not too sure on that though.

As far as restaurant suggestions- I forgot to mention that Planet Hollywood in DTD is really neat- and they make this delicious deep fried like lasagna.

There are also a couple of do not miss quick service restaurants that we enjoy too that I can suggest to you:

Toy Story Pizza Planet (loved the Pizza and the Toy Story atmosphere)
Pizzafari (too cute and pretty good pizza)
El Pirata y El Perico's (FAVORITE QS restaurant-they have the best tacos)

and the food courts as the All Star resorts and Pop Century are pretty good.

Next trip, I want to try Pecos Bill's and a few other QS restaurants that I keep missing out on. Austin is a really big Mickey Mouse Clubhouse fan- so we are definitely going to try to do Chef Mickey's or Liberty Tree Tavern (is that the one with Donald Duck and Chip N Dale?).

Anyway, I really need to get a PTR started- but I don't want to just yet because it doesn't actually seem like we're going until I put the deposit up for the trip!!!

Need to check into Liberty Tree Tavern (I think the characters are no longer there :confused3 ).

I'm so excited about the cruise!! The Hot Air Balloon scares me just looking at it, so I doubt we'll do that. I don't think I'd get Manny on that thing either.
And as for your #1 picks of Quick Service restaurants, we ate at all 3 when we went in May and they were our favorites too!!! They are on our must-eat list for next year too.
I believe the Rest. with Chip n Dale is the Garden Grill ( I think It's called) at Epcot. and I know Donald is at Tusker House in AK. Not sure if they are at a restaurant together, although I could definitely be wrong. I think longing2Batdisney is right, I believe I read that they stopped the characters at Liberty Tree.
I'll be waiting for you to start up your PTR!!!!

Where is the best place to buy pins? Before we get to Disney that is! We started on our last trip but they only had 3 a piece and I made the mistake of buying them their favorite characters. They didn't want to trade them  Of course they wouldn't want to. I don't know what I was thinking. Emily did do 1 trade and had so much fun with it. I know they'll all enjoy it next time. I want them to have at least 8 a piece. I have bought some from mousepinsonline before and through disneyshopping. I just want to make sure i'm not missing out on any "hot spots" to buy them. Thanks!!!

I usually get pins from ebay. I know there is the whole argument over getting scrappers (or fake pins) but I haven't had a problem at all. I've found some really neat ones on there!

Hey Pam! I must say you have a BEAUTIFUL family...you are one lucky lady!!! ;) I love the idea of the surprise cruise. If we go next year I have to find something to surprise them with...I will not keep the trip a secret from them this time. I think having them involved in the planning would be fun and we could so Disney nights and a countdown calendar!
The place for the wedding is beautiful without decorations...nice spot!

Tonight we did Disney Movie Night- which I am going to try to include in my PTR. We did Toy Story. It was really fun. I am going to leave it all a surprise. By the way, did you know that they are going to do a Toy Story 3D double feature of TS 1 and 2 starting October 2nd for two weeks only? I think it is going to be a great disney experience we definitely want to do it!!!popcorn:::3dglasses

I am very interested in doing the pin trading too next trip- Austin will be almost 5 so he should understand by then. I think the best place if you want quantity for a somewhat cheap price would be ebay. They have tons to choose from. Also, disneystore.com is starting to sell more and more theme park items- including pins and lanyard starter sets.

We loved running to our countdown calendar every day and we're going to do a lot of Disney nights while we're waiting for this trip too. It gives them something special to have in the back of their minds too. I know I love daydreaming about Disney, they must too. Yeah, I know that they are doing it in NJ at least. I've seen at least two or three commercials for it in the past two weeks. I read that they are going to show a trailer or preview or something for Toy Story 3 (suppose to come out in June 2010?) during the show sometime - yay:yay:. That is defitely something special that we are going to do. But they are only showing it for 2 weeks and it is a double feature of 1 and 2.

I also read that they are going to be doing the same things for Beauty and the Beast and Alice in Wonderland. :cool1:

Well, I am off to attempt to make caramel apples:confused3

3princesses+aprince

Mmmm, caramel apples. Sounds great. In fact I need to go to the market later, I may just buy the stuff I need to make them !!! I love the fall, we're going to be getting our pumpkins and cornstalks soon.

I'm running around today volunteering at the girls school. Today was their "writers notebook" decorating party, they do it at the beginning of every school year. This morning it was Lizzie's class's turn and 1:00pm is when Emily's class goes. Right now their taking their lunch and recess break and I ran home to eat and pick up Sam from school. She's excited to go to Em's school and see her.

The girls are so cute when I'm volunteering, they are so excited to show off their Mom. Lizzie kept saying, "Mom, I love you" and all of the teachers were just saying "Aww"

So, back to the school!!!

Hi Pam!
I need to check some of the other threads I'm subbed on; someone had a hook up w/someone for great deals on pins. Need to think who it is, hmmmm. I have read alot say they got them off ebay also. and if you have not done so sign up for the disneyshopping.com site they will send you emails of sales. I get them all the time about pins.

I have seen them advertise "Toy Story" here too! need to see what it is all about and if can we still buy Toy Story and TS2 on DVD! that would make a great disney night! I want to start those too! although we do Disney everyday; we normally watch a Disney movie at quiet time each day and again when it is time to go to bed. we have been on a Peter Pan and Bolt kick.
Have a fun day volunteering!! Dayne use to love when I was there (use to be PTA president so I was there alot) until he hit 7th grade than he no longer wanted me there

Yeah, it's only a matter of time before it's not the coolest thing to have your mom volunteering in your class. So, I do enjoy the days now and get involved as much as I can. We had a really nice day and they were so glad I was there. I love to see how they play with their friends, I could watch them all day.:lovestruc
Last night was Open House and I met Emily and Lizzie's teachers. They have great teachers this year, I am so happy. Sam's Kindergarten Open House is next tuesday, I can't wait because I have not met hers yet at all.

So, as I sat at work tonight I was jotting down a few different ways our schedule could go for our Disney week. Even though I can't plan which parks on which days yet until hours come out, I would like to at least have a basic idea of what our week will look like. We did not add the waterpark and more option to our tickets last time but we will be this time, so I need to make sure i'm planning enough time for waterparks (which will be a favorite in the August heat) and Disney Quest. I was reading about it and it looks great, we're all going to enjoy this, especially Anthony. He's going to be in heaven. I guess I don't NEED to have an idea on what our week will look like this far out, I just WANT to OK!!!! I know a lot of you our on the same page here ;) After all, that's why we're here on the dis.

PixieDustPrincess05
09-19-2009, 12:57 AM
I have been to Blizzard Beach- very cool. Everything is set up to be a Winter Wonderland type theme, and very disneylike. I have also done Disney Quest- your Anthony would love that, right along with your girls. It is like one big arcade- but it feels like you are in a video game. I know they had this one thing back in 2000 when I went that you can create your own roller coaster, then hop inside this virtual reality seat and ride it!!!! Very cool place if you have time!!!!:cool2:

And by the way- it is NEVER too late to plan for Disney. I am already driving DH, Bill, crazy with it and we haven't even booked our trip yet!!!!!!:rotfl2:

So I went out tonight to buy a Leapster for Austin, who is turning 4 on Oct. 10? Do you know if they work good? I am hoping to god that it is not crappy like the vsmile system that he has that only worked like one time:confused3
They have cute disney games for it like Wall E and Cars.

3princesses+aprince
09-19-2009, 09:28 AM
Oooo, your Austin will love the leapster. We have two here and we have Cars and Wall-e too. They do work well. Once their screens get scratched it's hard to see ,but we had ours for about 1 and half yrs before that happened. And they're not ruined, the girls still play them, they don't mind, but the screen bugs me cause I played it too. lol!! You'll be happy with it. By the time the screen is all scratched up he'll be ready for something new anyway.

I am really excited about the water parks and Disney Quest!!! The pictures here on the dis from BB and TL are awesome. I'm so excited and so aren't the kids. I did read about the roller coaster at DQ, we're definitely doing that!!! We're going to set aside a good couple of hours here and seeing how it will be HOT this will be a good mid day thing to do.:woohoo:

So my friend Brittany and I were doing a little bit of thinking about the wedding tonight while we were at work. We've been going back and forth on the colors and every time we choose some, I like them for a few days and then something isn't sitting well with me. We've been from Tiffany blue and green to Tiffany blue and brown to Tiffany blue and Red to Purple and gold.... you get the point!!! So today as I googled different colors I realized that I'm getting married on the 4th of July. What's not sitting right with me is that my plans and colors are not 4th of July themed and that's what I want. But I kept thinking red white and blue is kind of tacky????

So, my colors are going to be silver (ya know for fireworks....shimery) navy blue and there will of course be red but not too much. I am finally at peace and realize this is what i've been looking for I just didn't realize it. Not too sure what color our dresses our going to be yet, probably Navy blue and maybe my girl's dresses will be red. I'm very excited!!! :woohoo:

We're going to start thinking about centerpieces and favors next. Incorporated with the holiday of course. Brittany did say we could give out sparklers for favors. Everyone would like that.

Our next step after that will be invitations and response cards, we have to get working on those, they'll be going out in January or February.

:cloud9::cloud9::cloud9::cloud9::cloud9::cloud9::c loud9::cloud9::cloud9:

09-20-2009, 10:14 AM
I know, i'm really liking my colors!!!! I think we're going to stick with that!

So today we're going over to my brother's house to make Candy and Caramel Apples! Thanks to Pixiedustprincess for making them the other day, I really had to have them. We're going over there because he lives right next door to a farm, so we're getting some nice juicy apples from there first!! Plus they have a maze set up for the kids and we'll play in that for a while too. It's going to be 75 degrees today, it's a perfect day!!

I'm also excited because as you may have noticed my countdown ticker no longer says 11 months, it now says 10 :yay: Even though there's 4 weeks attached to that as well, I feel like the countdown is beginning!!!:banana::banana::banana::banana::banana::b anana::banana::banana: AND THAT GETS ME SUPER EXCITED!!!!!!!!

Wanted to share some pictures from out day yesterday!! We went to my brother's house, and walked across the street to the farm. We got some apples and walked through this cute little maze they had set up.

Mornin' Pam,

I love the colors you settled on. I think they'll go well with the wedding being on the Fourth of July.

The pictures of you guys at the farm are great! The family one is my favorite.

So we went back over to uncle Ricky's house and made our candy apples. We chose the caramel kit that you could just take the caramel and cover it over the apple. This way the kids would get to do it all. First we ate lunch outside because the farm had a band playing and it was so nice to sit outside and listen to it.

I didn't get a picture of the finished product because I was helping the kids and helping Jaclyn (Ricky's girlfriend) try to figure out her new timer for the oven. We drizzled chocolate over them too, they were so YUMMY!!!!!

We had such a nice day, I love the fall!!! I have a candle going right now that smells like apple cider, it's so strong, I love it. I also just took out a bunch of our fall/Halloween decorations so the kids can put some up tonight, they'll be excited.

Hi, thanks, I do love how the family pic came out too. And I was telling my brother and his girlfriend what we chose for the colors yesterday and they liked them as well. I'm very happy with my choices now.

The last time we made caramel apples, we used the kit thing like you did. Much easier for the kids to do.

I wish the weather here would hurry up and start getting Fall-like. Today's high is supposed to be 89 and that's with it being partly cloudy.

Thanks, and yeah, I do love the fall. As much as I'd rather hang on to Beach weather a little longer, I do love the 70s and apple picking. We wanted to go last week but it was in the 80s and it just doesn't feel right. lol

Thanks, yeah, if we made the real ones that you had to boil they'd pretty much just be watching. How fun is that???

Wow 89 degrees. It seems like as soon as the kids go back to school and we're a few weeks into september I'm ready for the fall weather. We usually don't get it until the end of September, it came early this year. I don't mind though. Last year when we went pumpkin picking we were sweating. That's just not right.;)

Although, 89 degrees does sound good to me, especially this morning when we went out to school and we were very chilly. Gotta break the fall jackets out, sweaters aren't doing the trick anymore.

Ok, off to take the Chicken nuggets and fries out of the oven for me and Sam's lunch.

Thanks!!!

I knew I had seen something mentioned before; but DisneyJo just mentioned this on another thread. she buys grab bags for their trading

There is a wonderful seller on ebay that I've been buying from for years and years. His user name is "sellandship". He recently started doing ebay sells full time when he bought two warehouses of Disney merchandise. He has always had really great pin prices and will give shipping discounts for multiple auction wins. Tell him "mickeystoontown" sent you.

So i've been on the creative disigns thread having some designs customized. I'm so obsessed with the designs. I loved making the shirts for our last trip and i'm going even crazier with these. I got 2 for Epcot, 2 for MK, 1 for AK,and 1 for DHS. I may stop there, I may not we'll see. I made 3 for each child for our last trip and I wished I had made more while we were there. The kids got so much attention because of them.;) I want to start making them now, but who knows who will have a growth spurt and not fit in their shirts in 10 months. I would make a size up, but I'd hate to waste them if the size doesn't work out. Maybe after Christmas will be a safe time. I can start stocking up on the transfer sheets now though. Them darn things aren't cheap!!

Some of my favorites so far are our shirts for our Epcot days. 1 set is a neat design with a Monorail passing through around the "ball" with our names on it and 2010. I believe it says "Touring the World" The other set is: For the girls it is an adorable finding Nemo design and I'm going to attempt to have my friend show me how to sew a skirt from Nemo fabric. How cute will that be. She says it's not too difficult, we'll see. Anthony's 2nd Epcot day shirt has his name on the top and it is a sign that says "Will trade parents for Fast Pass" Isn't that cute.

I also love the ones for our Magic Kingdom days. The girls have a Pretty pink mickey head with a crown on top that says their names and 2010 on it. I haven't found a design for Anthony for this day yet. ( It has to be cool enough or he won't wear it of course) For our second mk day they all have a Pirate design. The girl's pirate ones have Tink on it there too, to girly it up a little and of course Anthony's does not. :goodvibes

For AK, The design just spells out there name in animal print letters, and the girls have Minnie Mouse standing in front of their names.

For our DHS day I found awesome Star Wars designs, even the girls will like these, they are getting into star wars and were excited to find out there was a ride in Disney. We didn't get to that in May. Of course Anthony will like these, he's a Star Wars fan.

So that's what I got so far. I love them all. Last trip it took me forever just to pick out the three designs that I had, but I'm happy I have 6 that i'm crazy about. I am going to double check with Anthony before I make his shirts this time, some of them I know he'll love but others he may just want to skip out on and that is fine with me. I don't want him to feel uncomfortable. He's the kind of teenager that feels like he always has to be "cool" :goodvibes And matching T shirts with his little sisters may just be too much for him to handle. Who knows he may surprise me!!
I might want to look for a design for a shirt to wear while we're traveling. Something like "We're on our way to Disney World" As a matter of fact, i'm going to go look right now :goodvibes

The shirt designs sound really cute. My son, Hunter, will be 13 next trip and he's already a little picky about what he wears. But, I am liking the one that says "Will trade parents for Fastpasses". I'd love to see the design.

We drive to Disney so not many people would see our "We are on our way to Disney" shirt but I still think it's a really neat idea. Let us know if you find a design.

And we're driving to Disney too, but we have a 20 hour drive so I figured we'd see the "we're going to Disney" shirts and so wouldn't everyone else at the 20+ rest stops we're going to have to stop at. :lmao:

OMG those caramel apples looked great. I didn't know they had kits like that. I bought the kit where you had to boil the powder and stir it to the right temp. I don't think I got it to the exact temp, because they kinda came out like crap because only a thin layer of caramel would stick :rotfl2:
Yours looked great- I am either going to have to try that next time or invest in a candy thermometer to get the right temperature :confused3.

I soooo want to do the Disigns for our next trip. I was in the Disney store tonight buying Austin 2 new Disney tees (1 Toy Story and 1 Cars) for his b-day in a few weeks. I also did pick up the Leapster this weekend. Toys "R Us had all Leapster products Buy 2 get the 3rd free- so I bought the Leapster and a game (Wall e), and got a gam (Nemo) free! Go me :woohoo:! And thank you for the advice, everyone I talk to says the Leapsters are the best.

I need to get my Halloween Decorations down as well. And I think I am going to invest in one of those cinnamon brooms this year- they smell soooo good.

Yes, the kits are great, I've done them before and had to boil it and my apples came out like you describe yours. Plus this way the kids get to do it all. They had fun and yes, it was so easy.

As for designs, go for it, for your next trip, once you start, you'll be hooked. I cannot wait to start making mine. And you'll be so proud of yourself when you see how they look. I was amazed and Manny thought that I had someone do it for me. We just had no idea they were going to come out so great.

And yay for the leapster, he's going to love it. And good choice on the games, we don't have the Nemo one yet. Maybe for Christmas. My girls also have the Nintendo dss but they still love their leapsters. Such educational games.:goodvibes I play the Wall-e one a lot.;)

So while I was doing my laundry this morning I was thinking.......... About Disney of course. Now I figured on an 8 night stay, with a few nights, probably 3, before that in Orlando just to do a few things around there. Manny likes to do that. But......... as I was thinking I figured if Disney offers free dining (which of course I hope for everyday) it would be cheaper to stay in Disney 3 extra nights instead of staying offsite and paying for things to do and food for those three days. So, that would be a total of 11 nights in Disney World. NOW THAT SOUNDS GREAT TO ME. We can still go into Orlando a few nights out of our stay, but we can break it up instead of just staying in Orlando first. I'm excited, and that would work out better, this way we could drive straight into Disney World instead of being right there and checking into another hotel first, unpacking, and having to pack back up to go over to Disney. I also know myself and Manny and we would most likely end up spending so much money on things to do. Now, once we get into Disney, it's all there for us. :goodvibes

And after I priced it out, it looked even better than I thought it was going to. SO THAT WAS ANOTHER EXCITING MOMENT!!!:woohoo:

I can't even imagine being in Disney for 11 nights. I would be in heaven, the kids would too. Manny ,well, he'll live. He's not the biggest Disney fan  But he does enjoy all of the things we do there.

So, i'll keep it in mind and it will all come down to free dining basically, because if it's not offered we'd be back to our 8 night trip. It costs my family of 6 quite a bit to eat there all week. :goodvibes

Hello Pam,
So, I have not checked into Leapster! is this something I should look into for my 3 yr old! I just noticed that Janine has a 3 yr old. I just don't know what to get him for Christmas; it has to be something exciting and small our house is crowded with his older sister and DDBF here. I had planned a train table but no place for it until they finish their house and move out of ours:confused3.

I have been scanning the creative dissigners... I have never done iron ons was it hard? might do some as christmas presents (been thinking about it) shirts and pillowcases:yay:

Pam,
depending what ya'll figure to eat...it can sometimes be cheaper to do it w/o the DDP!
if you plan QS/CS for most meals and plan just a few sit downs...I bet you would be surprised. I know it was not free when we went in May and it was just more cost effecient for us to pay OOP. I gave each person (except Ashton, of course) $25 a day for food. I was more than enough!!! Gwendolyn & Joe were even able to save some money to go eat at one of the Japan resturants for a sit down. Dayne was the only one who spent ALL of his plus some each day. Takes a little more work but it was cheaper for us that way than the DDqsP (which was the same amount of meals allotted). I'm hoping for free dining whenever we decide to go back. That was why I was considering the last week of Sept. since they seem to have it every year at that time.

It's just more convient to have it all paid for upfront than have to worry about money I know...but you also pay for the convience.

You are like me, each time I sit quiet I think about our next disney trip!!! pixiedust:

Happy planning!

Oh, yes, look into the Leapster, it's great. There are so many cute, learning games, and most of them are Disney!!! Even better, right?

I didn't think I was going to be able to do the iron on transfers either, I thought i'd mess up for sure. The directions are very good on the transfer sheets package. The only thing I had to fool around with was my printer options. But, again, it wasn't "hard" I just had to find the settings for transfer paper and to make sure it reversed the image. I practiced on plain paper to make sure the size was right too, and that the image was actually reversed. Don't put the transfer sheet in the printer until you're sure you got it right. They're too expensive to fool around with. My shirts came out great, I love them, my kids wore them all summer too. They love their Disney shirts. Not sure if you looked at my TR from May, but if not, you can go and check my shirts out there.

First of all, yes I am like you. If I have a few spare minutes my mind is in Disney World :cloud9:

Second, i'm not really sure if i'd want to go without the Dining plan after having been with it. We enjoyed all of the food so much. Especially Manny and Anthony. It was one of the things we enjoyed most. And having to have a set amount of money put aside for food and hoping that was all we would need would be very nerve wracking to me. And i'd hate to have to see who could split what and worry about prices. I get stressed out easy and THAT WILL NOT OCCUR ON MY DISNEY VACATION :rotfl: I'm sure it's fine to do and may even save some money, but if free dining does not come out for next August we would just stay off site for are first 3 days like we were originally planning anyway. As long as it is offered, I think we'll be in Disney for 11 days!!!:banana::banana:

Ok, it's off to work tonight ( I'll get some Disney planning done too :goodvibes)

We sure did. I love the fall. I love apple picking and going to get pumpkins. I'm actually slacking, I usually have my corn stalks up outside by now. I gotta get on that. Probably next weekend. The girl's school has an annual "day at the Farm" day too, and we get a hayride, we get to go through a huge corn maze and then we get to pick out a pumpkin. That's coming up in a few weeks.:goodvibes

And I still have apples left from the farm too, we're making an apple pie on Saturday :) Yum, Yum

So I am excited today about the rumors going around that next week they'll be some deals for 2010 and the end of 2009 announced. Not that I think August deals will be out yet, but I guess you never know.

I'm also excited that ADR making and park hours are going back to 180 days out, and that means in february, which doesn't seem too far away, that we'll be able to plan out our ADRs and park days. WOO HOO, looking so forward to that.

I really want to know if free dining is announced for next fall, if it will be the QS for the values and we'll have to upgrade to the regular DDP or if the regular ddp will be offered free???? I guess we have a little while to wait before we find that out though.

Well, I haven't seen officially that the hours were going back to 180 also, but a lot of people here have been saying it. I mean, it just makes sense. I actually never thought about that. If the hours don't go back, that would be awfully stressful to book ADRs and then most likely have to change them :scared1: Disney wouldn't do that to us, would they ?????

I hope not! because for people like me I plan to do Donald at Tusker House in AK (hopefully on the EMH day and first seating); CP if it is open when we go (again before the park opens) and Ohana on an off day! the dinner seatings for me would not matter as much! but since I want to try the Italian place in Epcot, I would want to do it on an EMH night!--so knowing the hours would be pretty important!

I would be in the same boat. We definitely want to plan park days around EMH because of the heat , so the later we can be in the parks the better. I can't see Disney letting everyone book 180 days out and not having park hours out. EVERYONE that booked would be calling back to change reservations, it would be a big mess.

So me and the girls just finished making our Halloween countdown calendar. While we sat here and cut out Halloween designs we had the dis radio playing. The kids LOVED it. They're going to be asking me to play it all the time now. OH, Manny is going to LOVE it... :rotfl:

So, there's 35 days until Halloween. My kids LOVE Halloween, now we can countdown. I can't wait to make our Disney countdown calendar next. I think I want to get that up this weekend or sometime this week. We had a lot of fun making that last time. I won't have days to count down yet, for now we'll have it up in "months" of course or else I'd drive everyone crazy and they would be asking me every day how much longer is 300 days

So today is a rainy day!!! Which I am kind of glad about, I kinda just felt like staying in today. Emily and Anthony are playing a video game in the parlor, Sam is playing a Hannah Montana in my room and Manny's watching. And me and Lizzie are watching Finding Nemo in her room!!! :goodvibes How I LOVE Nemo!!! It's making me want to go to Epcot RIGHT NOW!!!!

Thanks, I love getting the designs ready. The girls are ready to make their shirts now, and so I am. I may just buy some tank tops in one size up and go with that. They pretty much go one size up on a yearly basis, so I think it's safe. So, maybe we'll start doing some shortly!!!! The most exciting part for me though is that I going to attempt to make little skirts for the girls too out of Disney fabric. :woohoo: I really hope I can pull that off. My friend will be helping.

I had the Chip and Dale one made for Emily because she LOVES them, and then I went back and had Sam and Lizzie's done, I figured if we were going to do the restaurant in Epcot with Chip and Dale those would be cute.

I have some more designs I want to show you but i'm having a problem finding them when I try to pull them up from photobucket, not sure why??? I'll figure it out soon enough I guess.

I've been busy watching the codes and rates board to find out what kind of deal will be announced this week. I know it probably won't carry through to August yet, it's too early, but it's still exciting to get an idea on what Disney's offering for 2010!!!! OH HOW I AM SO HOPING FOR FREE DINING. Or else we'll be purchasing the quick service dining plan again. Which don't get me wrong was great, i'd just like to do some of the character meals and restaurants like Sci Fi and T rex!!!!!! So, I'm hoping.

Waiting on the deals to come out here too!! :rolleyes1 Hopefully, it will be soon!!;)

We were watching Finding Nemo today too, on Disney channel!! Ahh...I just love that movie.:) It was a great thing to do on such a rainy day!!!

Too funny-- Austin was watching Finding Nemo too on the Disney Channel as well today (I think it was on last night too). It was rainy here too. I LOVE those shirt designs they are great. I like how you themed the shirts of where you will be that day. And I also think Anthony will love the Star Wars and Pirates shirts- grown up enough for him.

I found those caramel apple wraps and they were soooo easy and came out GREAT. I may make some for Austin's B-day party in two weeks. We are doing a Mickey Mouse Clubhouse themed B-day party (gotta keep the Disney magic in it some how between trips ya know?:wizard:) Still lots of planning to do even though we are having it at home. I have to make over 100 meatballs, a macaroni salad, veggie tray, pepperoni/cheese tray, and am attempting a Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Cake!!! I think I may go to the Disney Store and get the MMCH figurines- I seen how you did it with the Wall-E ones and that was just great. Wish me luck!!!

We too are watching out for the 2010 deals. It is sooo exciting to see them come out. The past two years, I have picked up this book called "Birnbaum's Best Guide to Walt Disney World"- the 2010 ed. should be out by now. It has all of the resorts, themeparks, restaurant lists, activities, and even some coupons. I highly recommend this book. I usually buy it from Borders I think its like $15.00. :confused3

I do just love rainy days when you can stay in and watch Disney movies :goodvibes Nothing better than that. Well, except being in Disney World. And as for the designs, I think that Anthony will be fine wearing those too. I'm not going to make him as many as the girls, i'm sure some days he'll want to just wear his regular clothes. Like, i'm not going to make him one with Chip and Dale on it ;) He does have a few more though, I want to post those too, he's got the Epcot design, which we all love and he has the one that says "Will trade parents for Fast pass" So he does have a lot. And who knows, maybe i'll find some more that I know he would love. He did really love his pirate Mickey one from May, so I know if they're "cool" enough he will enjoy them.
Good luck with Austin's party, and yeah, the Wall-e toys that I used for the top of Sam's cake were the only things I could find to use. But I loved them and she still plays with them. It's definitely money well spent. I think they cost me $12 dollars.

Oh, and i'm glad you did the caramel apple wraps. Aren't they so good!!!

Cute designs! I love the fairy ones.

Thanks, the girls have been so into the fairies lately. Which is good. Even my 10 yr old, so i'm getting them all excited to go see the fairies :goodvibes

And if there's anyone who doesn't know yet, the 2010 deal up until March 27th is posted on the codes and rates board. It's either buy 5 get 2 free for the values or buy 4 get 3 free. Now, I'm just waiting for that free dining announcement. :surfweb:

I'm very excited about my first Christmas gifts purchased. I know, I know it's kind of early, but I found these books on Amazon and i've been spending money like mad lately so I figured if I bought them as Christmas gifts that I would feel better about buying them so........... I did, of course. Emily is going to be so excited. She's been getting more into reading and these books......well, need I say more. They saw the UPS guy too and I told them, just to torture them that it was indeed a Christmas gift for "someone".

Looking at the pages, I do think that some of the words may be a little difficult for her, which gave me an even better idea. That those books would be for me to read to them. They love when I read to them. Right now we're on Charlotte's web. How nice would it be to sit down every night and read a few chapters from these books!!!! :cloud9: We'll have sweat Disney Dreams every night.

They are about teenagers trapped in the Magic Kingdom. The first one is "after dark" and the second one is "before dawn" And you can only imagine what goes on in the Magic Kingdom after dark and before dawn. Need I say more. The books look absolutely amazing. You can check out some sample pages on Amazon.

I love them, I can't wait for Emily to open them so we can start reading. I read a page and it is just amazing. I highly recommend these books. For kids to read them on their own, they would most likely be around 4-5th graders. So much fun. And what's exciting too is that in April they are coming out with a 3rd one. So we'll be waiting to buy that.

I also wanted to post a picture of this Tinkerbell Fairy set my Mom bought the girls from an Avon book. It comes with 2 different backgrounds, 6 fairies, fairy friends and stick on clothes for the fairies and stick ons for the backgrounds. They've been playing with it for days.

They sure do look great, that's why I'm excited to read them to them, cause if Emily ends up wanting to read it on her own, which I doubt cause they love when I read to them, but if she does, I will read them to the younger 2 after her anyway. I can't wait!!! I'll give you an even better book report after we read them :goodvibes

I also just got the Disney Movie Club thing in the mail, so i'm finally going to join, we do need some new Disney Movies, they say it takes 2-4 weeks to come in, so those will be Christmas gifts as well. We got four coming. I got Bedtime stories for Emily, Tinkerbelle for Sam, Bolt for Lizzie and......... I'm drawing a blank on the one for Anthony , the name won't come to me and I don't feel like getting up :headache: I'm lazy!!!! No, not really, Sam and I are getting ready to walk to the girls school to pick them up.

Later, i'll post the movie I ordered for Anthony!! I'm such a dope, I just filled this out about 30 minutes ago! :rolleyes1

I've read both of the Kingdom Keepers books. The first one when I had to serve Jury duty (I never actually got called for anything as there was literally nothing going on at the court and I started on a Wednesday and Thursday at noon so I only served 1 and 1/2 days), the second one I read last year.At times they do mess with the reality of the parks, but they do it in a very creative way that makes it almost believable if you have a lot of knowledge of the parks.

So, I really wanted to book my trip soon just to have the reservation in and start paying on it, but, I'm so unsure of what our actual plan is going to be. I mean I have 2 different options!

We would either leave home sunday night and get to Disney on Monday and stay 11 nights.

We could leave home sunday and arrive in Orlando and stay on International drive for 3 nights before checking in to Disney (which was our original plan because Manny loves Orlando) So that would be 8 nights in Disney.

Another thing i'm worried about is Manny. He is currently looking for another job and I'm really hoping that his 2 weeks off for Disney would not be a problem. I guess if he lets them know right up front, it will be ok....... I hope. Also, we are getting married and this is kind of like the honeymoon so, come on!!!!!:wizard:

I guess it will come down to free dining as well. If it's not offered, there is no way i'm staying 11 nights in Disney World!:scared1: We'd definitely be going with plan number 2 and doing Disney for 8 nights.

If it is offered Plan number 1 is looking better. But then I was thinking, maybe will they offer the QDP for free and you would have to pay for the regular ddp upgrade which is what they are doing for sept-dec dining plan, right? That wouldn't be too bad, I mean we really enjoyed the QDP, and then I wouldn't even have to worry about tips.
I was trying to figure out what the upgrade would cost and this is what I got including the upgrade and daily tips (obviously just a good estimate, going by the rest. prices)

11 night stay: $880 for dining to upgrade
10 night stay: $800 for dining to upgrade
9 night stay : $720 for dining to upgrade
8 night stay : $640 for dining to upgrade

So obviously still a good deal, it will just come down to how much extra I will want to pay :headache:

And who knows, maybe the regular DDP will be offered for free and i'll be pleasantly surprised :wizard:

You can go ahead and book your ressies; do room only or room and tickets for now. I would do room only at this time. You can start paying on that! :yay: Than as you get a little closer and you know more certain of what you need you can add your tickets! They ask that you add or change your package up to 10 days before you arrive!
Since you are waiting on the Free dining offer; I would not add the dining until that promotion is offered. I changed my ressies soooo many times; I had told Danny they were going to all ru when they seen my phone number pop up :lmao:

Morning!

I bought my son the Kingdom Keepers book when it first came out and he loved it. I haven't even thought about getting the second one yet but now you've reminded me.

I started buying Christmas presents while we were in Disney World in August. If I buy a little at a time, it doesn't seem as big a hit to the pocketbook. I spoil my kids like crazzzzzzy and always go overboard with Christmas gift buying.;)

If I were you, I'd be itching to book my vacation too but I can understand where you're coming from. Maybe you could go ahead and book. That way, when Manny starts his new job he can honestly say he already has his honeymoon/vacation booked. :thumbsup2

Hope you have a fantastic day,

Thanks for the booking advice and the opinions on the Kingdom Keepers books!!!

Ok, so maybe i'll book it in a few weeks then. I know I said I wanted to do an 11 night Disney stay, but the more I think about it, Manny will really enjoy staying in Orlando for a few nights before the trip. I'm thinking we'll just do two instead of three, making for a 9 night Disney stay!! I know once we're in Disney i'm not really going to want to pack up for the day and do "other things" I'm also tossing up going to Universal Studios for a day, but it's so expensive for a one day pass. The only way you'll get a good deal is from buying a multi day, but we'd only go once then it's off to Disney.

Ok, so I will probably book within the next few weeks then. I'm pretty much deciding on the trip dates by myself. It's much too far out for Manny to have any input on what we're going to be doing.:scared1: He needs help!! Or, maybe that's me :lmao:

I will go on and book our room and tickets (package) in Dec. so we can start paying on it!!! we will be doing US/IOA/SW so I need to check into weather we will stay on US grounds or get a townhouse again this coming year. the townhouse was really nice, cheap, and accomadating :confused3. So my Mom and my brother took the girls to a CIRCUS last night. They all had so much fun. At one point a clown came up to Sam and was doing a little "act" right by her and she said that was her favorite part. She also like the goats? :goodvibes Too cute!!! I told my Mom to take pictures and neither one of them took out their camera :confused3 I don't get it. I wanted to put some up here for you, but I guess not. This is the first time Sam went to this Circus, the last time they went, My Mom took Emily and Lizzie and I was in the hospital with Sam, she was a day old.:cloud9: Awww, my cuddly little baby :goodvibes

Any way, Sam and I are just getting ready to go over to Emily and Lizzie's school to help out with some games for the Summer reading challenge party. If they completed a list of 10 books that they read over the summer they could go to this party. They are going to be playing games and having ice cream. Sounds like fun to me. BUT..... then I have to be to work for 4:00pm, so by the time I get my butt to my desk i'm going to feel like i've been hit by a bus.
Use your imagination and you can only imagine how wild some of these kids at the school are. But they are so cute at the same time, they're used to seeing me a lot, as I volunteer often, so they're always so happy to see me. And when I bring Sam, she gets a lot of attention and Emily is always so proud to have her as her little sis. Lizzie is always excited to see her too. So, off we go in a few minutes.

I'VE BEEN SO BUSY ALL DAY, I DIDN'T HAVE ANY TIME TO DIS :sad2:

I'll try to get on later tonight when I get in from work and let you know what we will be doing for ..........OUR FIRST DISNEY MOVIE NIGHT :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::w oohoo::woohoo:

Hey Pam~

Those books sound great!!! OMG, I am addicted to the creative disigns board with the tshirts. I had a few created, and then did so many myself!!! AC Moore (a craft store here incase you don't have one) had tshirts on sale this week 5 fo $10- I was so excited- I might go back tomorrow and get more!!!

Anyway, I have used the dining plan twice. The regular DDP last year once, when me, Bill, and Austin went for the first time together. And the QSDP just came out this year- and I used that in June when me and a couple of gf's went for a few days. And I have to tell you, the regular DDP was nice, but I think I would take the QSDP any day.

#1. Food on the regular DDP is expensive. You figure Bill and I went to the Grand Floridian Cafe for dinner and our plates were about 30.00/pp plus drinks, plus dessert, plus tax- even though its included in the DDP- that's what your basing your tip on. You figure abou 20% of 100.00- so our tip there was $20.00-it adds up.

#2 You need to make reservations. And character places-such as the Crystal Palace, are very crowded. We had like a 5:30 reservation, and weren't seated for like another 20 min. With the QSDP, you can just walk right in at your own convenience.

#3 The Mugs. The mugs that I simply cannot do without. For the regular DDP, there are 6 in your family plus tax times about 13.00. Thats about 100.00 for mugs. In ths QSDP- they are free!!!

#4 Snack Credits. The regular DDP only includes 1, while the QSDP includes two. If your family is anything like mine- we used ours for breakfast all the time. The size of the bagels, danishes, muffins, or cereals was just perfect for us- plus filling our mugs up and we did not have to buy a drink :-) Then, you can use the other one for a midday or midnite snack:woohoo:

Totally up to you- but from my opinion- I only have a family of three, and I would not spend the extra money to upgrade. 800.00 sounds like alot to upgrade or even tipping if it is offered free. That is totally up to you though. Remember, you can always do a surprise character dinner or lunch (lunch is cheaper- example HS's Playhouse Disney Hollywood and Vine Play and Dine) for about 18-20.00 pp.

Which leads me to my last tip. I have learned something from my past two vacations. And that is how to save money at WDW.

Preferred rooms. If you are staying only a few nights (like three, it is only abou 50.00), and I guess that is ok. We stayed in the Dalmation buildings at ASM last year in the preferred section. What I did not realize is that the Dalmation buildings and Toy Story buildings have non preferred sections only a few steps away from the preferred. When I stayed at POP this past June, we stayed in the bowling pins preferred- same thing. Each of the resorts has about 3 preferred sections- that have nonpreferred sections, and then two other nonpreferred sections out in the middle of nowhere. So, next time I book (I always call in and request what building I want), I think we are going to POP, I am going non preferred and requesting to stay in the 60's building (right behind the food court), with a pool view. That way if I make the ressie far enough out (most people don't think to put in requests), I may just as well get it, and I don't have to shell out over 100.00 just to walk a few extra steps. Hopefully, that helps and I made some sense out of that- but it really is a useful and money saving tip :thumbsup2

And one last thing (I know I'm a talker, but I love talking Disney). I probably won't do this until Austin is a little older, but since you are thinking of staying in Orlando and visiting Universal Studios, I seen this commercial last night for the Nickelodeon Suites- and let me tell you, they looked awesome:yay: They run promotions- they have 2 waterparks on the grounds and all kinds of activities for your kids. You should definitely look into this. The rooms are nickelodeon themed as well.

Ok enough for tonight-- and sweet disney dreams to all :cloud9:!!!!!

Hi longing2batDisney, yes, they did have so much fun at the circus, and going to the circus every year on Thanksgiving night sounds like a GREAT tradition.

Pixiedustprincess, thanks so much for all of the advice, I had no idea some buildings had preferred and nonpreferred rooms only a few steps from each other :thumbsup2 We are going with the Suites at All star music, I think they are all one rate, and I believe they are all in preferred anyway, I think :confused3
And ya know what, now that you lay it all out there, the QDP sounds so much better. We did go with that one in May and LOVED it. We had so many snack credits left over at the end of the week that next time we'll know we can do more for breakfast. I mean, with the amount of snacks you get, you can get a few things for breakfast. And, we didn't even always have a mid day snack because we were always so full. And good point with the mugs, they certainly aren't cheap for a family of 6. The regular DDP of course sounded good for the character meals, and we'll be there in August, so it will be a nice break to sit and relax ,but of course you can do that in the CS restaurants as well.
:confused3:confused3 We'll see :confused3:confused3 After really thinking about it anyway, I think if the QDP is offered for free and we would have to upgrade to the regular DDP that we would just stick with the QS. That does just seem like way too much to upgrade. Hey, I guess that's what happens with a big ole family like mine. :goodvibes

And I'm going over to check out your Pre trip report, YAY

So I'm sitting on comfy couch right now with a bunch of pillows, blankets a diet coke and of course... my laptop. I had a rough night at work and I just could not wait to get home. And knowing that I can sleep in a little tomorrow morning, cause it's saturday, WOO HOO, makes me feel great right now. I hate that the winter is coming too, it's getting pretty cold at this time of night and I hate going out to my cold truck. Oh well, I'm nice and warm now and I can stop complaining :goodvibes Not to mention i'm here on the DIS, what more do I need right now.

Anyways, I had a blast today volunteering at the girl's school. They had a bounce house set up, of course that was a big hit, and they had the basketballs out at the basketball court, they had a soccer game going on in the field and the kids could just do whatever they wanted to do. They all had so much fun. There were a few girl's from Emily's class that played with Sam the whole time, so she was entertained. I just love being at the school getting to know the teachers and other parents better. I just feel by doing that I know so much more of what's going on all the time and the girls enjoy me being there so much.

Ok, so on to my decision to start our Family movie nights. I'm going to start this sunday. We're going to start with Pirates of the Caribbean. We are fans of the pirates. Especially little Sam. She loves him.

So for dinner we're going to have tacos because when we were in the MK we ate at El Pirata y el Perico which was right across from the Pirates ride, so when we talk about the taco restaurant, which we LOVED, they think about the Pirates. Jack was also out at that time doing his tutorial.

For dessert i'm making brownies with chocolate frosting and crushed reese pieces on top. That is because me and Emily have been wanting brownies lately.

Of course we are going to watch Pirates and have our Pirates decorations set up.

I just need help with a game or craft we can play. I'm going to go searching for some ideas, i'm sure there are plenty around here somewhere, but any suggestions are much appreciated. Thanks

HAVE A NICE NIGHT!!!! I"m watching Christmas with the Cranks, my fav!!!:happytv:

Good morning! Pam
what about coconut races! (you can use anything that rolls and anything to push with--Ohana's resturant does this! so I've been told--I'm sure you have something around the house to give it a go!) Family fun magazine usually has lots of ideas, too!

I was thinking I was going to do Disney night Sunday, too! Handy Manny has a prime time special coming on. So, I was thinking Mexican food, too!

Have a wonderful day!
P.S. I forgot that you were thinking of the fly suites at ASMu---just another tip the DO book fast so if you have your $200 for the deposit I would go on and book! and just make changes later. I would book my nights that I think I need (go back and CX whatever nights you decide to stay in Orlando when it gets closer and you make that decision; and just book a min amount of tix days--it is easy to add and subtract from a package...if you do room only they will have to cx your entire ressie and refund your money about 5 days later. But, if you book a pkg you can add and subtract up to a week before you get there --that is what the CM recommended to me!--but fly suites BOOK UP FAST!!! )

Oooo, I forgot Handy Manny had a special on Sunday, Hmmm? Maybe we'll hold off on Pirates then, seeing how I have the movie and we can do that anytime :confused3 Well, i'll have to think about that. Or, maybe we'll just do our Pirates Movie night more towards the afternoon this way we can still watch Handy Manny. Yea, I think we'll do that. Cause I was pretty set on doing Tacos with the Pirates movie. Sounds good!!!

Funny story about Handy Manny. My dh, Manny is known as Handy Manny here. We never ended up seeing Handy Manny at HS, but it's on our must do list for August, Manny said he will have his picture taken with him to humor us. He's such a good sport :goodvibes
Well, Manny does construction work too and of course that's how he got the name. When the show first came out I think Sam was only 3, if i'm remembering correctly and she, even at 3 was the one to realize the connection. Too funny. So ever since then, he's been Handy Manny whenever he takes out his tools. We tease him and ask them if his tools sing to him while he's working :lmao:
I think he kinda looks like Handy Manny too  I think that's why I love the show so much.

So Sam and I both woke up with runny noses. My throat hurt as soon as I opened my eyes :headache: I hate getting sick. And ya know when you're not feeling great, those are the days that the kids usually act like wild barn animals. Well they were fooling around while we were having breakfast, I had told them to stop abotu 3 times and Lizzie dumped her entire, full, bowl of cereal in her lap. So, on top of having to clean up milk, I first had to pick an entire bowl of wet, mushy, froot loops off the floor, off the chair, off of Lizzie's lap etc.... you get the point, it was a mess.

As for the suites, I didn't know that they filled up fast. I'll try to book them as soon as I can than.

We love Handy Manny too!! I did not know that there is a special on tomorrow night. Hmmmm........ maybe I will chime in with you and Connie on the tacos- it really sounds great!!! And we can all catch up afterwards.

I've seen pics of the ASMu Suites, they look really nice. It would probably be more roomy than booking two rooms again. ASMu is a great resort too. In fact, I have stayed in both the Cowboy boots building and the Calypso building, and the funny part is you can walk right over into ASMo's property if you want to take pictures or something that you may of missed out on last time. Both are great resorts.

Sorry to hear about your morning- I know exactly how that feels. I took Austin to McDonald's through the drive through this morning and he got bbq sauce on my back seat (luckily they can be wiped off they're leather). Kids will be kids:worship:

So we made banana muffins for breakfast this morning and Lizzie didn't want one. Guess what she wanted? Yup, cereal :goodvibes I teased her and told her that if it dumped it in her lap this morning she would be grounded for 3 days.;) (Not really, my kids don't get grounded) You'll be glad to know though that all went well for breakfast this morning.

I gotta find out what time Handy Manny's coming on, I think 7pm. But I still want to stick with my Pirate's night, so I want to get that done before Manny comes on.

I'm still not sure what we'll do for the game, the coconut race does sound like fun. We'll see, i'll let you know when I decide. I'm excited for tacos tonight. The kids still do not know we're starting Disney Movie nights, I'll tell them in a little while or they'll be ready to go all day. It's another rainy day here (:yay:) So we're going to clean up their rooms and just hang out.

Yup, we're aiming for the end of August. That's when we went this year and LOVED it! Even with free dining, we never waited in a long line or too long for any of our meals. We really hope they offer the free DDP again, too-- we loved it! I think you guys were better at the QS meals than we were. I think we'd get bored if we only had QS.

Hey Pam~

Hope all is going well with the Disney night at your house!!

We started off with Cars (it was on the Disney Channel this afternoon) while I was making dinner (you guessed it-tacos!) and then Austin and I watched Handy Manny (Bill doesn't reallly get into this sort of thing :confused3)

After that, I cleaned up and made brownies as well (I had a craving as well :)) while Austin watched Phineas and Ferb, and now the Incredibles is on so he just fell asleep to that!!! What a lovely Disney day thanks to the Disney Channel.

Enjoy your night!

We had a wonderful 1st Disney Night. The girls were much more excited and in to it than I even thought they would be. They were super excited that we were going to have a Disney Family Movie Night every week. Manny, well he thinks i'm a little nutty, he just does not share my love for Disney!! But he'll enjoy the Disney nights too. Last night though, he was not home, he was at a friend's house helping him put in a kitchen floor. (Our little Handy Manny)

So, the sun ended up coming out yesterday and we heard all the kids on the street outside, so the we took out the bikes and scooters and went outside for about an hour. When we came in we got the Brownies in the oven so we could decorate them later.

We started to "decorate" for our Pirates night. The kids were so into it, and they were really thinking about the movie and the ride and trying to decorate accordingly. Too cute.
Emily brought out our Pirate's Parrot :goodvibes

Our Movie of the week

http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k296/3princesses-aprince/2009_1004AC.jpg

Emily clipped a small piece of her fabric in Sam's hair to look like a bandana just like her Jack. (Sam has been in love with Jack since she was 3, not sure why, she's just always been)

http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k296/3princesses-aprince/2009_1004AD.jpg

We sat down to eat our Tacos and the kids liked their treasure map napkins.

http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k296/3princesses-aprince/2009_1004AF.jpg

I had everything set out so they could make their tacos themselves just like we did at El Pirata y el Perico. They of course made a mess and loved it.

After we ate our Tacos, we sat down to watch some Pirates.

http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k296/3princesses-aprince/2009_1004AN.jpg

http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k296/3princesses-aprince/2009_1004AV.jpg

Then we decorated our brownies. They were more like a brownie pie. They were frosted with chocolate frosting and had crushed reese pieces on them, and oh my word, they were GOOD!! I actually just had a piece for breakfast.

http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k296/3princesses-aprince/2009_1004AO.jpg

Before we ate the delicious brownies we went on a treasure hunt. I had about 8 or 9 different clues sending them all over, they were running around screaming. a treasure hunt is just so exciting.

http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k296/3princesses-aprince/2009_1004AP.jpg

http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k296/3princesses-aprince/2009_1004AQ.jpg

One of their clues led them to their "hanging disney treasure"

http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k296/3princesses-aprince/2009_1004AR.jpg

And the last clue led them under the table, where a bunch of coins were hiding under a black piece of construction paper (so it wasn't so obvious) and Lizzie was the first to find it.

http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k296/3princesses-aprince/2009_1004AT.jpg

After that, Lizzie and Sam decided they would put their findings with their money and count it, to see how much Disney money they had so far. They each had around $7 so far, not bad, and we still have 10 months to go.

After that we finished Pirates and ate our brownies.

We all went in my room and watched Handy Manny at 7pm. That show was the cutest, we all loved it. And they showed a little preview of a Mickey Mouse clubhouse show that will be on at 7pm on October 25th, we'll be making that a Mickey night for sure.
When they went to lay down in their rooms the Incredibles were on, so they of course watched that.
And I couldn't sleep for some reason and stayed up to watch TV, well on America's funniest home videos, the guy was IN Disney world, I was so thrilled. He was in Cinderella's suite and they showed some things around the park. The winner was going to get a Disney trip of course.

It was a great Disney night. And last night I had a dream that we were at a carnival and the Haunted Mansion was there.:cloud9:

So, we have extremely exciting Halloween Plans this weekend. :woohoo: We are going to the Canobie Lake Screemfest. Canobie Lake is an amusement park in New Hampshire. We normally go every summer, but skipped it this summer because we had just gone to Disney in May. Emily and Anthony were just watching a Canobie Lake commercial towards the end of the summer and both said that they wished they could have gone this summer. I knew we were going to the Screemfest but didn't tell them until just last night. I didn't want to tell them too early because I don't want Lizzie and Sam to know. They are sleeping at Grammy's house this sunday night. They know we're going to a Haunted House but if they knew it was at Canobie lake they'd freak out. And neither one of them is ready for Haunted Attractions. I was watching the video on the website and it looks pretty scary. I know a friend who went last year and you can buy "Monster B'gone" necklaces so the monsters don't come up to you, we'll be buying one for Emily, she already said she wanted one, but she is excited to go. It takes us quite a while to get there, but we all really want to do this.
It will be myself, Manny, Emily, Anthony, my brother, maybe his girlfriend, Jaclyn if she can get out of work, one of my best friend's, Brianne, and Brianne's nephew Evan. Evan is the same exact age as Anthony, they are only a few weeks a part and have been friends since they were 2 and a half, and best friends since they were around 7. They LOVE to get together and are so excited to be going to Screemfest. Evan and his other siblings will be coming trick or treating with us too.
So Evan is riding up with us, and his mother is dropping him off at my house around 2pm. My plan is to be ready to leave by 2:30, which should be as soon as my Mom gets out of work and gets to my house to pick up the littler ones. My guilt is kicking in already and i'm going to hope that the boys will just pop in a video game and Emily will know just to chill out. I don't want too much excitement in the air. I can see it now. Crying........ when we're trying to leave because Lizzie and Sam want to come. If they just know we're going to a Haunted House they'll be fine, but we need to make sure no one spills the beans.
If we leave at 2:30 on the dot, we should be there just shortly after the park opens for the night at 4pm.

It won't be dark yet so we'll hit some rollercoasters and our favorite , the pirate ship first. There are 3 separate attractions to walk through, they all look so scary one the website, I hope Emily's not too scared.
They have two different shows that play throughout the night on the stage and then at 8pm they have a Haunted Parade that walks through the park.

We all can't wait, we are super excited. My friend keeps calling me to say that she cannot wait until Sunday. As soon as Emily woke up this morning we went to our Halloween calendar and we are now down to 25 days til Halloween and she of course said, 5 more days til Screemfest.:goodvibes

I think i'm going to make up a little Halloween goodie bag for Lizzie and Sam to take to my Mom's house. This way they'll be excited about something too. They won't get it until they leave. I don't know why, but I'm feeling guilty for leaving them home, even though we do a Haunted attraction every year and they stay with my Mom( this is Emily's first year) I guess I just feel super guilty because of WHERE it's at. But I couldn't bring them anyway, they can't go in the Haunted Houses, someone would have to sit them out and we wouldn't be able to ride the big rides together and there are not enough hours in the short night that we'll be there to ride kiddie rides and big rides and get through the Haunted attractions and watch the parade.;)

Ok, I'm fine!!!!!!!!

Love the Disney movie night!! We did the same thing all summer before our trip in August and the boys loved it!! We would do activities or crafts, have a snack or food that related to the movie and then that night we would watch the movie. It was so much fun!! It looks like your kids had a great time as well.:thumbsup2 and Lisa's right those tacos do look yummy!!

Your Halloween weekend sounds like so much fun!!! DH got discount tickets to FrightFest at Six Flags this month, so we are considering taking the boys for a quick day trip. I can't wait to hear how your weekend turns out.:goodvibes

A haunted house- that sounds like so much fun :yay::yay:. Don't feel guilty about leaving the little ones home- it is good to take the older two out ever now and then to have a little "big kid fun". If you want to hear something to make you feel a whole lot better about your situation- omg everyone is going to hate me for this one- my quick trip in June was me, a good friend of mine from work, one of her childhood friends- and my sister was supposed to go, but she went the week before with her best friend because she couldn't get off our week- and Bill and Austin stayed home. Talk about feeling guilty as anything- not a second went by where I did not think about them- especially Austin every time I would see a little one around his age. I was pretty much to the point where I couldn't enjoy myself because you just cannot go to WDW without the people you love the most :lovestruc!!!! I mean I had a good time for the most part (we'll get into that one day on my PTR)- but it was not the same, and I would NEVER go without them again!!!!

Okay, time to take my crunch fish filets and steak fries out of the oven for dinner. Catch up with you later!!!!

We did have a fun Disney Movie night, the kids were very excited to know we'd be doing one every week.

And OOoooo, Frightfest at Six Flags, that sounds good too. I just love Halloween and I LOVE going to Haunted Attractions.

That's true, on Handy Manny day they played other good movies, i'm sure they'll have others on Mickey's day too, I'm going to go check out the guide.

And as for a countdown calendar, funny you should say it, I was just thinking about mine too. I really want to get it going ,but of course being 10 months out we can't count the days yet. Well, I guess we could, but maybe we should just count the months for the next few months at least. But I think, making our countdown calendar will be part of our Mickey Mouse clubhouse night. And now, thinking about it , there will probably be other Disney movies on that day too, so we can have a whole fun Disney day.:goodvibes

Yeah, i'm not feeling guilty anymore. I sat back and said to myself "You have kids that range from 13 to 5, how unfair would it be to the older two if you didn't take time with just them and have big kid fun" I feel fine now, thanks!!! :goodvibes

So, I'm SOOOO excited about this weekend. I absolutely cannot wait to go to Canobie Lake's Screemfest. Emily and Anthony are off the wall too. Emily keeps saying, "why can't we go sooner" It's only a few days away. So, you can imagine how she gets a few months before a Disney Trip!! Um, yeah :scared1:
She's worse than a toddler saying "we go Disney world now" every 5 minutes.:lmao: Oh, but that's my Emily, very impatient!!

So Emily and I were going through the rides. On top of being excited to go through the 3 Haunted Houses and watch the monster Parade and shows, we are over the moon to be going on rides.
Now, as you might remember from my PTR and my intro to Emily, she is a daring little thing and will do pretty much anything. I thought I was going to die while riding Expedition Everest, like I seriously thought I was going to die, and she loved it and can't wait to ride it next year.
So there are a few rides she wants to go on this sunday that are not sitting well with me, but i'll do them...... I guess. At least there will be other riding adults this time, so I CAN back out. I don't do well on things that spin.
There are 2 rides that she is not tall enough. I said "thank god" she was kind of upset though. One of them was called the Starblaster, it's a Tower of Terror type ride, she said she wanted to prepare for ToT, so she was upset she was about 2 inches too short. Then there is the Frisbee, just think about that people, The Frisbee  It spins and swings out really high.
But don't worry, i'll have tons of pictures. I CANNOT WAIT TO GO!!!
We'll be riding a few different rollercoasters, preparing ourselves for Rock n Roller coaster, Emily has never been on an upside down roller coaster, so she can't wait for that.

On to my Disney Movie night. I'm not sure what I want to do this week. We'll be at Screemfest on sunday and I am working on monday night, so we'll be doing it on Tuesday night. I'm going to see if by chance there is a movie on the Disney channel that night.

Ohhh, that sounds like so much fun! I'm too much of a wimp to enjoy haunted attractions-- the tiniest things will make me jump a mile! But you guys will love it, I'm sure. Take lots of pictures!
I love Emily's Chorus Line t-shirt! We live 20 minutes north of the city, and saw that 13 times when it came back on Broadway in 2007. Love that show!

Ooooh! Your weekend plans sound like so much fun. I know what you mean about feeling bad because you're leaving kids behind. I'd feel the same way. But, it's good to spend some quality time with the older kids too. I can hardly wait to see your weekend pics!

Ooo, I just love Haunted Attractions. Every year as the end of the summer nears that's what we are thinking about. And I will definitely takes tons of pictures. I am insane with my camera. I took hundreds on our Disney trip:goodvibes

Oh, yes, the brownies were yummy. And we do have a busy weekend, and we cannot wait. Every morning as soon as Emily opens her eyes, she tells me how many more days til Screemfest. As if I don't know ;) It's the first thing I think about too.:goodvibes

I can't wait either, I will be taking lots of pics for you guys. I can't wait to see how Emily likes the upside down rollercoaster. It will prepare her for RnR in Disney. I'm sure she'll like it, I have yet to come across a ride she didn't like. She's going to be my crazy teenager, I just know it.

Ok, so sunday we'll be at Screemfest and monday night I picked up some extra hours at work (gotta love that holiday pay :goodvibes) So I knew we would be doing our next Disney night on tuesday. And as luck should have it, Aladdin is on the Disney channel at 8pm. I was very excited to see this as of course my kids know who Jasmine and Aladdin are, we really haven't seen that movie more than 1 or 2 times. So, i'm excited.
I don't have too much planned out for it yet. I'm going food shopping tomorrow, so sometime today I will google Moroccan food. :goodvibes I know we'll be eating our dinner and dessert on "Magic Carpets" and from the Disney for families thread I found recipes to make Abu cupcakes or Tiger looking cookies. So either one of those will be our treat. Still thinking of a game or craft to do. I'll keep checking the boards and of course the Disney Movie nights thread.

Ashton has not seen Aladdin as of yet; we may or may watch that one!! PROBABLY WILL!! I'm sure he will like the genie and Abu! I don't know anything about Morrocco so I can't help with that one! but your flying carpets sound fun!!

Yea, Aladdin sounds like fun, I can't wait to watch it!! We're going to have cupcakes and dessert. For dinner I went to look at the menus here on the dis and checked out the restaurant in Morocco and also googled. Chicken is big along with couscous, which I didn't even know what that was, I had to look it up. It's like tiny pieces of dough, boiled I guess and usually served as a side. Not sure my kids would go for that, so I bought pasta that was shaped the same and we're having chicken, tiny pasta, and rice. It will at least "look" Moroccan. :goodvibes We're not brave eaters, can you tell. So, besides hanging out on our "magic carpets" while we eat, i'm not sure what else to do. Maybe we'll do a craft, they like crafts. Maybe we can all create a magic lamp, I can go to the dollar store and get a bunch of fun stuff to glue on to it?

2 MORE DAYS UNTIL SCREEMFEST!!!!!

And tomorrow I told the kids that I would take them to get their Halloween costumes, I'll post pictures of what they pick!!! They are so much fun to take costume shopping :goodvibes I love it, they get so excited.

Hey Pam I am here....

Here's a thought why not do chicken Ka-Bob's (not sure of the spelling) it will look Moroccan and maybe you can look up some type of dipping sauce to go along with that.....that's actually my go to meal when all kaya wants to eat are chicken tenders.....just season chicken however you like skewer it and bake it (soak the skewers first so they dont burn...i also cut of the sharp pointed end after cooking...before serving) I serve with Honey mustard for the kids cucumber yogurt dressing for me and Bruce....gotta love it...

Can't wait to see how it goes....

Hello!

Your family is adorable :) Congratulations on the wedding! I love the idea of the color scheme you picked--why fight the season? DH and I got married in December (we moved our wedding up from May due to a family member's health) and I switched the dresses to red so they would not clash with the holiday decorations up in the church.

I agree with getting the ressies done if you can swing the deposit. That way it is at least booked. Luckily you do not have to pay anymore until the 45 day mark, so you can keep adjusting it as needed.

I want to start Disney theme nights too--but DH will think I am crazy to do it already. :rotfl: Who knows, perhaps I will go ahead and start them soon. I was thinking of waiting until January though.

The shirt design are cute. I want to get one shirt design (at least) made for the whole big group (we have 11 people going). I should probably start looking at them to decide.

Looking forward to your updates. :surfweb:

We had a great weekend!!!! On saturday we went to pick out our Halloween Costumes, the girls got excellent costumes and on Sunday we of course went to SCREEMFEST. We had a blast. It was well worth the money we spent. It was amazing. I had no idea it was going to be as great as it was. I will have to get my pics up tomorrow though. I have to work at 4pm and still have to shower and get the kids showered (for back to school tomorrow)

But i'll post an update all about Screemfest tomorrow!!!

Hello, sorry I haven't been on in a few days. I have a new obsession............ and his name is Edward........... he is a vampire  I'm in LOVE!!!!!

Does anyone else read the Twilight series? If you do, you understand, if not, I don't know what it is about these books. I was opposed to reading books about vampires but everyone was talking about it at work, so I opened the book and read a chapter and I was hooked. IT IS AN OBSESSION!!!!!! Like no other :goodvibes I'm on book 3 and I don't know what i'm going to do after book 4 is over, which I'll start by tomorrow. After i'm done with the books, i'll be here much more often.

But later on after my laundry and time with Edward :cloud9:is done i'll put up our pictures from our awesome weekend.

The kids got their Halloween costumes and SCREEMFEST was the most awesome thing ever. I can't wait to put up my pics. I'll be back in a few hours.

I read all four books this summer and you are right...it's an OBSESSION! I tore through those books like there was no tomorrow and now I really miss Bella and Edward...but mostly Edward of course!

The third book was my favorite! Have fun! :goodvibes

Ok, so even though it's almost christmas, I would like to show you our screemfest pictures, cause I know you were all waiting for them before I went MIA. I've just been so busy. I started reading twilight and then went on to read the next 3 books. Oh my god, I highly recommend.

Ok, so we went to Screemfest in October (of course) and had a blast. It was chilly but not freezing. We went with, me, Manny, Emily, Anthony, My best friend Brianne and her nephew Evan, my brother, Ricky and his girlfriend Jaclyn. We are definitely doing this again next year.

So we got to the park for opening at 4pm. It looked absolutely amazing, every where you looked there were Halloween decorations, they did such a wonderful job. Emily LOVES Halloween like you wouldn't believe so this was great for her.
We walked around and checked out the decorations and rode rides while we waited until 6pm for the Haunted houses to open. We usually come here every summer and it takes us all day to ride the rides. Well, everything was a walk on, it was great.

My brother and his girlfriend
http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k296/3princesses-aprince/2009_1011BA.jpg

So, it was then time to head over to the first of three haunted attractions. We bought Emily a monster B'gone necklace that kept the haunts from scaring her, it worked very well.
http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k296/3princesses-aprince/2009_1011BB.jpg

http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k296/3princesses-aprince/2009_1011BF.jpg

Ok, so the we finally get in and Emily is .......PETRIFIED..... WHAT!!!!! I couldn't believe it. Damn, I thought she was ready. The necklace really did work though, no one bothered her. But she was still scared. So it was then time for the monster parade, so we grabbed some dough boys and sat and watched.

My best friend Brianne and Emily

http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k296/3princesses-aprince/2009_1011BL.jpg

We then split up. The whole crew went to the other haunted houses and me and Emily rode rides. I was kind of bummed, but there's nothing that I love more than rides. And being there at night, while it was dark, cold and everything was lit up, it was so great. Me and Emily rode every ride in the park. SO GREAT

And she met these friendly guys

We went on some awesome rides and I had a blast despite not doing all of the haunted attractions. Manny felt bad and offered to switch so I could do one of them , but he's not too crazy about the big rides and that's what Emily wanted to do and I was of course having a blast.

This is Ricky, Jaclyn, Brianne, and Evan. Emily wanted to go on, but luckily she was too short, cause I wasn't doing this.

http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k296/3princesses-aprince/2009_1011BT.jpg

We left the park when it closed at 11pm. Right before that Me, Emily, Brianne and Evan rode an upside down rollercoaster. My ride chicken Anthony wouldn't go on it. It was great. The cold air was blowing in our faces, and when it was going up the big hill, all I could see was black sky and stars, I wish I could have took a pic of that view, it was like nothing else.

Then we had our LONG ride home. It was awesome.

Yeah, the necklace worked great. They lit up and flashed so when a monster saw her coming they would shield their faces like they were defeated by her. It was so cute. But she still wasn't having the last two Haunted houses. The rest of the crew talked about them for weeks, they were great.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving!!!! Our day was great and we went shopping ALLL morning on black friday, we got a lot accomplished. I had to work friday night, so I was exhausted, but it was worth it! We got a lot of great deals!!

I don't really like that my mind is not on Disney right now. It's on Christmas of course, so there's not much Disney planning of any sort getting done. I know after Christmas, we'll be counting down the months!!

We're even thinking now about changing our dates to the last week of September, which is what we were originally thinking AND, we may fly instead of drive, we'll see. Emily, Anthony and Sam would rather drive, BUT, they've never drove 21 hours before, so they can't really make that decision, it's something we'll still have to think about!!!

I'm on my way over to Sam's school in about 15 minutes. They are putting on a little christmas show for the parents. "Twas the night before christmas" They had to wear their PJs and she's got her reindeer antlers on. I'll post pictures when we get home! I, of course, figured this show called for new christmas pajamas, Disney of course too. She looks so cute. Although she said she does not look pretty because while I was at work the other night, Manny was having a pillow fight ;) You know where this is going, right? Well, Sam ended up with a little scratch under her eye. It's small, and it's really just a little scratch, but she's making a BIG deal about it. Of course, Manny feels horrible. Just goes to show......... i'm always right, and while i'm out of the house, chaos occurs.

I hope everyone has a nice day :goodvibes

We'll have him from tuesday night next week til christmas eve nite. We'll drop him off then pick him back up around 11am on christmas day. So it works out well for us!!! Her too, I guess! It's what she always wants to do, so we sure don't complain!!!

So I had to come back on because I just priced out Coronado Springs and I really want to stay there. If I get a code that I could use instead of the free dining, I think we can do it. It's so pretty, i'm waiting for a code now!!!!

Hi!! Just wanted to say I'm joining in!!! I've read your trip report and am looking forward to planning with you for your Sept 2010 trip! I just got engaged myself and my fiancee wanted to get married this September, but I was already planning a trip with my DD 11, so I couldn't imagine planning a wedding and a Disney trip for the same time of year! But here you are --- doing it yourself. You are an inspiration, girl!!!:yay: Anyways, I look forward to your posts!!!

Hi and thanks for joining me!!! I see we are planning to be in Disney around the same time. :goodvibes Congrats on your engagement. I think this trip and the wedding will be a bit too much to plan at the same time, but I have faith in myself. LOL, I have to get it done, cause we're definitely not skipping out on Disney!!!

Coronado Springs seems like a nice place to stay! We've visited there when we ate at the Maya Grill, which was YUMMY! I've also read some good things about the Pepper Market food court.

I was up pretty late last night looking through resort pictures and reading reviews, I also heard good things about Maya Grill and pepper market.

I also heard good things about the busses never being crowded! There are 4 bus stops at CSR so you don't have to walk to the main entrance. I heard that after the park closes and there are a ton of people in lines for their buses, that the CSR bus line is never a scary looking line.

I'm super excited!!!!

Pam, your Christmas pictures are adorable. I can't wait to see the Disney PJ pictures.

I've never stayed at the CSR but it does look like a pretty cool resort. I've only heard a few bad things about the resort. One is it's a convention resort and some people don't like the fact that there are people in suits and briefcases. They feel like it lessens the "Disney" mood. And, two, the food court. You have to wait to be seated and there is an automatic tip added to your bill. The only way to get around it is to order your food to go each time. Other than that, it sounds like a great place to stay.

I just can't make myself want to stay anywhere other than the Caribbean Beach Resort. It's like having a nice tropical vacation and a Disney vacation rolled into one.

Looking forward to more pictures!

Ok, so I found out where the suites that sleep 6 are located. There are a total of 30 of them. There are 28 in the Casitas building and 2 in the Cabanas. Both of those buildings are close to the main building and the food court! Of course I want the Cabanas, but It will depend on if one of the two are available. I'll probably book in february, so I guess I have a chance, if not, it's ok, the Casitas look amazing too. I'm not setting my heart on the Cabanas just in case. They more or less look the same but the Cabanas have more of a beachy feel, which I of course love!!!

The pictures that i've seen at night are breath taking!!! A lot of reviews say that this is one of the prettiest resorts at night!!!

And the fact that i've heard so many people write about how awesome the buses are just delights me!!! See Manny is not much of a crowd person, that's why September is calling us, and he wasn't crazy about having to stand up on a bus with people standing right on top of us. Ewww, I guess I didn't like it either, but I have a lot more tolerance and patience than he does.

So this resort seems to be the perfect resort for us!!! I think at this point i'm going to have to make sure we have the extra money to stay here because I think i'd be a little disappointed if we don't!!!!! It's going to cost us about $1100 more!! Those suites are pricey!!! But considering everything, I think it will be worth it.

Oh and when the kids see that slide and pool , oh my god!!!!!!!!!!!

I also believe i'm going to keep this a surprise until we get on the Magical Express bus to go there!!!! Even when we do, they will have no idea what Coronado Springs is. When we pull up they will be amazed!!!

I don't even know what the junior suites look like yet, i'm still searching for pictures, if anyone knows where to find any pics, please let me know. Thank you!!!!

Ok, off to look through some more pics!!!:cloud9:

It is $1100 more than where? There are 6 of us as well and we are getting a suite at ASMU, but these sound Sooooooooooo tempting!

The Caribbean beach resort does look amazing!!! I did price two rooms there (for the 6 of us) and it only came out to a little bit more than CSR but, do they have connecting rooms? That would be my only concern.
And I wouldn't mind the fact that it is a convention resort, that is why the buses aren't crowded there!! The hotel is full, but all of these business people are not going to the parks.
And I did here good and bad things about pepper market. But , what do you mean you have to tip? We'll be on the dining plan and I don't want to be tipping at CSs.

I meant to post earlier that you need to send a message to KatMark. She knows everything about the CSR. If you have any questions, she can answer them for you. :thumbsup2

Thanks, i'll do that!!

It comes out to around $1100 more than the ASMU. That is where we planned on staying until I priced CSR out. I believe the junior suites are around $350 a night.
I priced both out for 7 nights without adding dining. (because I'm hoping that's free of course) I put in our park tickets (base for now, not sure if i'm going to add waterpark)
ASMU came out around $3000.00 and CSR comes out to $4191.00, so actually $1200.00 more. But when I took everything into consideration, like, this will have more of a honeymoon feel if we stay somewhere like this, the buses, the amazing pool and waterslide, and the fact that it's just so pretty, I couldn't resist!!!!

Some people say that they aren't at the hotel enough to care about the resort, but I feel like we spent enough time at the hotel to enjoy this one to the fullest!!!!:cloud9::cloud9::cloud9: Oh, I day dream about CSR all the time now!!!

Ok, so thanks to mickeystoontown, I just had to go and price out the caribbean beach resort again :lovestruc Oh, boy!!!!! I just don't know now. Let's just say, after looking at these resorts there's no way i'll be able to stay at All Star Music. See We stayed at the Movies in May and loved it. I'm not bashing the values, because we were so amazed by everything at the hotel, but I was smart enough before that trip not to look into the moderates. Now, i'm sure next time i'll be foolish enough to look at the deluxes, but not this year. If it comes down to it and money will be too tight for the CSR or CBR, ASMU it will be. I do need to pay for a wedding this year too

But, as long as connecting rooms can be guaranteed, they did guarantee them for us at the Movies because we were a mother, father and kids, I think i'd be going for CBR instead.

When I priced it just now it came out to the same exact price, with the difference of $7 as the CSR junior suites, not sure why I though CBR would be more for us, but i'm very excited and have some thinking to do. And I can't discuss it with Manny and the kids because this is going to definitely be a surprise for them!!! Ok, off to look at the CBR pictures :rolleyes1

I certainly didn't mean to cause more confusion on where to stay. I gotta tell you though that we absolutely love the CBR. We've stayed there four years in a row and I have our 5th stay booked for next May. I have tons of pictures in my trip report. Come on over and check it out, the link is in my signature.

We absolutely love the CBR. It's so nice and quiet. Yes, it's a big resort but it sure keeps the crowded feeling at bay. The rooms were refurbished about a year or so ago. Some have a slight Nemo theme and some have a full blown pirate theme. (the pirate themed rooms cost a little more) We like to take a day to stay at the resort and laze around. There are beaches, complete with hammocks and beach chairs. Some of the beaches have small playgrounds on them too. The island in the middle of the resort is a neat place to go and have a picnic. We usually try to rent a surrey bike or some kind of watercraft from the marina. The prices weren't too bad either. (I have a picture of the price sign in my report.)

I also have a super detailed information post that I put together and have posted for others. They say that it helps them out a lot. If you want me to post it for you, just let me know.

Thanks so much!!! And don't worry about it. I haven't booked yet, don't plan on it until february so I have plenty of time to think about it. It's actually a lot of fun checking into all of the resorts. And it's exciting that I may be staying somewhere completely different too. I'm so glad you said something. And I know i've read most of your report, but didn't really focus on the resort pics cause I wasn't thinking about that, but i'm gonna go back and look through it.

I did ask on the resort boards about connecting rooms too, that's exciting!!! I'm thinking now that this is where we'll end up instead of CSR. Maybe we'll try CSR next time. See with CSR I was gonna try to get the Cabana building for the beachy feel, so CBR seems to be right up our alley.
I saw the hammocks and beaches and oh, my god :cloud9: I also read about the island in the middle. I was actually just thinking that I should add an 8th night just to be able to really spend time at the resort and enjoy it. I also saw a video of illuminations that can be seen very nicely from CBR!!!

So can you rent surrey bikes at CBR, because that is on our to do list. We almost did it at the boardwalk in May, but we were SO hot, we just had to get to the pool, and never got the chance to rent them. Renting them right at the resort would be awesome!!!

How were the buses? And does CBR share with another resort?

Sorry for so many questions, i'm gonna go look through your TR but i'm super excited right now!!!

mickeystoontown
12-16-2009, 11:40 AM
Yes, you can rent surrey bikes at the CBR. If I am remembering correctly, you could rent them for 30 minutes or an hour. We rented one for 30 minutes and were able to go around the resort promenade twice in that time frame. We had so much fun......it actually inspired my trip report title.

They also have several types of watercraft...canoes, watermice and pontoon boats available at the marina. For the kids, there's a pirate cruise that leaves from the marina.

We have never had a problem with the buses at the CBR. Each village has their own bus stop and once you get on, you'll make your way around the resort to the other stops and then you're off. No sharing with other resorts. :thumbsup2 I actually timed our ride to Hollywood Studios and, from the time we sat down, made our way around the resort and pulled into the bus stop at Hollywood Studios, it took a grand total of 11 minutes. Not too shabby. The ride to Epcot was about the same. Of course, getting to Animal Kingdom and Magic Kingdom took a little longer but they were short rides too.

The only time we waited (for a kind of sorta lengthy period) on a bus was the morning we were going to Typhoon Lagoon. I think we waited about 25 minutes (I could be wrong. It's in my trip report.) before a bus came. There were two ladies waiting to go to TL too and one of them picked up the phone in the bus stop and called Guest Services. A bus was there in no time.

Feel free to ask any questions you want. I'll be more than happy to answer them.

Thanks so much for all of your info. I have to take a shower now and get ready for work, but i'm gonna make time tomorrow to read your TR, I can't wait!!!

We rented pontoon boats in May at DTD, we had so much, we're definitely doing that again, maybe we'll do that at CBR too. So much to do there. We'll definitely need an extra day for one whole day at the resort!!! The kids won't want to leave, neither will me and manny!

That's good news about the buses too, sounds good!!!

I am now on pg 59 of your trip report!! It's amazing. I thought I started to read yours before, but I don't think so. You have a beautiful family, they are always doing something funny!!

You have wonderful pictures of the CBR! I am more in love now than i was this morning. I have looked through tons of pics, but you had so many things i've never seen before. I only stopped just now, cause I have to go pick up Sam at school. But i'll come back for some more later!:cloud9:

I saw the sign with the prices of the pontoon boats and surrey bikes. I jotted that down, we're definitely doing that! We did do the pontoon boat in May at DTD and it was a blast.

I also may be changing where i'm doing the wedding!!!:confused3 Yeah, my friend, who is helping me coordinate this whole thing still likes me, but wants to hurt me right now. It's just not what I wanted. We picked the summer cause we wanted an outside wedding. Well that's not what we have, so i'm going to look into a few more places Brittany and I thought of last night at work. The ceremony and reception would be outside (covered of course) and that is what I want. I feel happier already just knowing we're going to check them out.

I am keeping my fingers, arms, legs and even my eyes crossed that Disney will extend their buy 4/get 3 free promo. I was able to take advantage of it last year and it reduced the cost of our vacation by several hundred dollars.

I'm glad that you are enjoying the trip report. I love taking pictures and the CBR is a great place to take tons of pics.

I remember reading about ya'll taking the pontoon boat out on your trip. The lake at the CBR isn't huge but it's a nice way to spend time together. The cost isn't that bad either.

The beaches are my favorite part of the CBR. It's so nice to just laze around in a hammock and stare out at the water. Relaxing!

No news on the wedding yet!! I was out christmas shopping this morning. ;) I wanted to come on and post the pics of Sam's little christmas performance the other day.

Here she is before we left the house.

The Group

This is Sam's teacher. She was the narrator, and Mrs Claus, she looked so cute in that rocker.

http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k296/3princesses-aprince/2009_1214AN.jpg

It was so cute. Mrs Claus was reading "Twas the night before Christmas" and the kids would say their parts of the story and then every few sentences she would stop and they would sing a song. Their songs were so sweet and they all looked so adorable in their PJs. Of course there has always got to be a Mom or two in the group who forgets about something like this, does not send her kids to school in their PJs and then their kids are looking around for them. There were twin boys in the front that I just felt so bad for, they kept looking around for their mom. I figured she wouldn't be there seeing how they weren't in Pjs, she must have forgot all about it.

But I got some more Christmas shopping done today. Today was Bakugan shopping for my nephew!!!:santa::santa::santa::santa::santa::santa ::santa: I LOVE TO SHOP!!!!

Now, after I go pick up Sam i'm going to get back to Mickeystoontown's TR and check out some more pics!!!

Hey! Pam
we are in the chilly 50's brrrr! it is damp here to go with the chilly air...would much rather a dry cooler day ....

fun update on the performance...I use to love when Gwendolyn & Dayne did things like that....as their PTA president I would organize meetings around the holidays so our teachers and parents could have the children do things like that...if not our school was not given any time to do it....

Have a great day! :wave2:

:cool1:Awe Pam she is adorable!!!!! How is your Christmas shopping going? Did you buy lots of Disney presents like I did lol!!! I couldn't help myself. It is funny, I was making tacos for dinner tonight and I thought of you and your family and El Pirata y El Perico's. God I miss that place- the taco shells that Old El Paso gives are like half the size of El Pirata y El Pericos. I have also been craving disney pizza- is that funny or what? I can't wait to go back!!1

Oh, Janine I miss the Disney food all of the time!! Every time we have tacos, I wish we were eating them in the MK!!

Well, I wish it was in the 50s here!!

So, not only is it cold here at 20 degrees !!! We're getting a snow storm! It's going to start snowing later today, and after 10pm it will become heavy, it's going to snow until tomorrow late morning, early afternoon. Our totals are supposed to be around 15 inches. That is insane. We usually do not even get snow until January. If we do, it's just an inch or two or three!!!
My boss is going to Florida right now! I'm texting her, she's at the airport. She originally had a flight out sunday morning and last night at work we had checked southwest's website and it said a big long thing about how if you were flying out from 4pm today through all day sunday your flight could be rescheduled or just cancelled and you'd get your money back. Well, I felt so bad, she was in tears last night. Her whole family is out there and she'd be stuck home alone for christmas. She was on hold with SW, it said there was a 65 min wait! Well, while waiting she was able to change her flight online and print her boarding pass, even though it was saying there were no flights available. So she stayed on hold to make sure it was all good and it was, so I was happy for her!! She just told me her plane just pulled up! I have to work tonight in this blizzard, I work at AAA for anyone who doesn't know, so we'll have a blast. I love working in a good snow storm! I am off tomorrow though, so i'm happy! We're supposed to be going to my Grandmother's house for our little christmas with them. And presents galore for the kids, so their excited, but I did warn them that we would have to see what the snow does! I have a 4wd Ford Explorer, so we're good!!!
Anyway, my boss just said, if you need anything, call me! I said, oh, ok, so you can give us advice from underneath a palm tree with a margarita in your hand! LOL

Well, i'm off to call my cousin and see if she thinks we'll still be doing our Christmas thing tomorrow, because if we are no matter what, I gotta bake!!!

Have a nice day! And if it's 50 degrees where you are, enjoy it, cause you could be stuck in a blizzard like me :headache:

Oh, September, where are you?:cloud9:

Hey Pam~

We are from NJ and are having the same snowstorm here. There is about a foot or more out there now and it is not supposed to stop until sometime tomorrow. The snow is still coming down. We have over a foot right now and it's not supposed to stop for a few more hours!!

We have our family christmas party on my Dad's side of the family tonight and I just got off the phone with my cousin and it's still on, snow and all. They're just shoveling away clearing spots to park!

I'm taking the kids outside right now to play for a little bit before we get ready because Manny's friend came down with the plow and made the kids this big "snow fort"

I'll post pictures of the snow and the Christmas party tomorrow!!

Have a nice day everyone!!!

I hope everything went well with your Dad's Christmas party. The roads were horrible yesterday- even the main roads weren't that great here.

Can't wait to see pictures!!!!!

I am also from the Northeast (NY), and was privy to that fabulous snow storm. Apparently on Saturday a package was delivered to my brother's (according to a tracking #) and he never saw it-- thinks it might have gotten buried in the snow!
I am THRILLED we are going to have a white Christmas, though!
Hope you guys had fun at the Christmas party-- and that the drive was safe. Love Sam's pj's! Super cute!

Ok, first of all, I just noticed that my ticker no longer says 9 months. We are at 8. This is exciting :goodvibes

We had a wonderful time on sunday with my family. My father drove around and picked up my grandmother and my aunt so they didn't have to drive. The roads were of course crappy ,but we did good. Everyone made it their and back safely!
The kids got a disturbing amount of presents. So many that they all barely fit in the truck on the way home. I have an explorer with 3rd row seating, so that's pretty bad. They ended up with at least 30 gifts a piece!! My kids are the only kids on that side of the family, so they go slightly nutty on holidays and birthdays.

I will post pics tomorrow! I've been so busy. I just finished the rest of my Christmas shopping tonight. I had to go out and get stocking stuffers, and a few more last minute things. I am completely done. All of the presents are wrapped and it is a relief. I can now relax for the next few days.

I also have a picture of some earrings I just bought Lizzie tonight. Oh, my lord, I love them so much. I want to give them to her right now! They are Mickey earrings!!!!:lovestruc I also bought Sam a Tinkerbell necklace but forgot to take a pic of that, and it's wrapped now, so i'll post that after she opens it. I was too :cloud9: over the mickey earrings!!!

Ok, goodnight all!

Good morning!

Doesn't it feel good when you look at your ticker and it's lower than you expected it to be?

Congrats on getting all of your Christmas shopping done. I picked up the last thing yesterday....wait, I take that back...I've got to stop on my way home and get my mother's pedicure gift certificate. Other than that, I'm done.

I look forward to seeing pictures of the Mickey earrings and Tinkerbell necklace. Those are my absolute total Disney characters.

If I don't get to chat with you before Christmas, I hope that you and your beautiful family have a lovely holiday!

Mickeystoontown, if you're not on before Christmas have a wonderful holiday!!!

Ok, so I got the pictures up from sunday. We had a great time, the kids got SOOO much!!! They got so much that I know next year, which, I wish I would have thought of this a few weeks ago, we are going to pick a child's name off of a "giving tree" that they have at a restaurant around here and I want my kids to realize that they are very lucky! That some kids don't get Christmas presents and family gatherings and big dinners all week! I just want them to know that not everyone is as fortunate as them. And as i'm going to tell them that this week, I just really want them to see kids asking for warm PJs, and winter coats. I want them to understand that not everyone can just go buy a new coat because it's cold, and not everyone goes to bed with fleece Disney Pjs and fleece Christmas blankets. Them getting all of this stuff, just from one side of my family made me feel really bad for the kids that do not even get a portion of what my kids got. And that was 5 days before Christmas! Santa hasn't even come yet. I am glad my kids have wonderful Christmas's, I am very lucky for that, I just want to make sure they realize how lucky they are!

Ok, so we got to my Aunt's around 3pm! The kids played, we ate dinner and opened presents. We were there til about 8:30. We had a really nice day! We were all so glad we were still able to get there because of the snow! We really didn't want to reschedule because the next time that was possible for all of us was probably 2 weeks after Christmas!

Here are some pics! The kids got:
Pixos, Chixos, Moxie dolls, barbies, barbie scooters, a barbie pool and beach barbies, a barbie kitchen set. ( See they all know that the girls are getting a big dollhouse from me on christmas morning) They got the cake bakery, cupcake baker, candy jewel factory, moon sand, lite brite, board games, clothes, Planet earth animals, Anthony got PS3 games, a total of $90.... you get the point...

Here are the girls standing amongst the presents. Everyone thought the amount of gifts were funny!

http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k296/3princesses-aprince/2009_1221AC.jpg

Here are two of the planted earth animals. They each got 2 a piece, Lizzie got a elephant and a chimp. My cousin didn't even know lizzie's infatuation over elephants. Emily got a penguin and a tiger and sam got a polar bear and a black and white bear. They are so soft and cuddly. They each come with their own dvd about that animal. They love stuff like that.

http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k296/3princesses-aprince/2009_1221AE.jpg

And Here are Lizzie's Mickey earrings!!! She is going to LOVE them.

http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k296/3princesses-aprince/2009_1222AB.jpg

I'm hoping she does not want the box. I want to save that. It says three things around the side of the box, It says, Laughter is timeless, dreams are forever, and i'm forgetting the 3rd one! It's so nice. Even Manny said, "wow, that's nice"

Well, that was our sunday. We finished all of our shopping last night and now i'm being held hostage at home waiting for my oil man, which could be any time today. So, i'm sure i'll be back on!!:santa:

I know i've been trying to decide if we'll be going with the QSDP or DDP, and i've been leaning more towards the QS all along. But now that i'm thinking about it, I think, especially for a honeymoon that it will be nice to eat in these fancy restaurants, and relaxing in the hot afternoons. I think we're gong with the regular DDP!!!

I've been looking into Coral Reef and I've always wanted to go there ,but I don't like seafood! Well, in looking at the menu I realized that there are other yummy things there. Manny loves seafood, so he'll really enjoy this! It looks so pretty in there! The kids will be amazed!

Another place that we really want to eat is the San Angel Inn, in Mexico at Epcot. When we went on that boat ride we thought it was an amazing view that the people eating there had! It's very beautiful in there!

T-Rex is another must-do for us

Sci fi dine in is a definite on our DHS day

The Yak and Yeti on our AK day looks so neat!!!

Character Meals: Must dos

Crystal Palace
Chef Mickey's
Akershus or 1900 Park Fare

Which should I go for, 1900 Park Fare or Akershus?

Also, I feel like I should have more character meals! 3 out of 8 of them will be character. Is there any rest that I have on the list that you would trade for a character meal? Or should I stick with what i've chosen.

I know my kids will enjoy all of these restaurants, even the ones without characters. And we seen so many while there in May that i'm sure we'll see even more in September when it's slower. What should we do?

Only 3 more months and I can make ADRs!! extremely exciting!!!

You are a good mother teaching your kids that they should feel privileged to receive so many gifts for Christmas and to think about the other children out there that won't have such a happy Christmas. I have always taught my children the same thing. Every year, we adopt a family for Christmas and buy gifts for them. It just makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside to see my kids giving to others.

Moving on to whether or not you should do the quick service dining plan or the regular dining plan. I priced out the two and found that it only cost a little more than $250.00 (for 9 nights) between the two. We went with the regular dining plan. I gotta tell you, I know for a fact that I'd get tired as heck eating counter service meals for our entire trip. Been there...done that.

It's really nice to sit down every evening to a nice dinner. It's a great way to wind down. By the way, we aren't big breakfast eaters so we use our table service credits for dinner. That way, you get the most bang for your buck.

Out of the places you have chosen, I'd definitely say go to T-Rex. It's not on the dining plan though. I have pictures of our food and of the restaurant on pages 20 and 21 of my trip report.

We really like Sci-Fi. If you go at dinner, you can still order the burger that's on the lunch menu. We've done it three different times and have had no problem at all.

Crystal Palace is always good. It's a tradition that we close out our vacation with a day at the Magic Kingdom and eat dinner at Crystal Palace. Our favorite item on the buffet is the Fire Roasted Corn Spoon Bread. Yummy!

We ate at Chef Mickeys for the first time this past August. It certainly isn't a place that we'd go back to. I had read mixed reviews regarding dinner but decided to book an ADR there anyway. I wish I hadn't. There was food on the floor, our waitress came around twice (even though we were there for over an hour) and one of those times my husband had to wave her over, the food was okay.

We haven't eaten at the other three places you have listed. Hope this helps.

Loved the christmas party photos!!!!!! Don't feel bad, my son is the only grandchild and gets a TON of gifts as well from both sides. Plus my husband and I both have stepparents (both moms and dads!)- so you know what I mean!!!!! To tell you the truth I don't know why Bill and I buy so much for him when he gets alot from everyone else. I thing the angel christmas tree is a great idea- it will really help the kids appreciate christmas more.

If you are going on the regular DDP- can I suggest the Grand Floridian Cafe? It is very pretty in there and all of the CM's are dressed in big old time dresses and they are very nice. And the food, oh my word, is delicious- especially if you like steak!!!! I've also eaten at Crystal Palace- but I do not recommend going for dinner (breakfast would probably be much better). They had some weird food in there, but the disney atmosphere and characters were great. We sat at a table that had an awesome view of the castle :cloud9:.

Well, I hope you and your beautiful family have a wonderful Christmas!!!

Hi Pam! Loved the pics of the kids and their presents. They look very happy. I love how your girls always look so happy. We're doing Coral Reef this year for the first time also...I'm not a fan of seafood but Joe is so I'm in the exact same boat as you are. As for Akerhaus vs. 1900 Park Fare...we choose 1900 Park Fare. Breakfast at Akerhaus was good and we got to see a lot of princesses. The downside is that the characters are very rushed. Lunch at Akerhaus was horrible...Joe calls it the worst meal he's ever had at WDW. Therefore if you do choose Akerhaus go for breakfast if you can. 1900 Park Fare is a buffet which means you can start eating right away and everyone can find something that suits them. We also found the character interaction to be fantastic at 1900 PF. Josie danced with Cinderella during our last trip....too sweet. The Grand Floridian is a beautiful resort so it's a nice chance to check it out. Hope that helps some.

Hope you have a wonderful Christmas Pam!!! :santa:

I was just going to put up some pictures from Christmas eve and Christmas day but I just finished uploading them to my photobucket account and it was one of those days where it takes a while. The kids are ready to start working on this 1000 piece puzzle of Cinderella's castle with her coach pulling up to it that we got for Christmas from my friend!!! It's awesome. So we're gonna go do that, i'll put up pics tonite or tomorrow!!

I also wanted to say that I got a pin for 20/30/40 % off value/mod/deluxe. I am glad I got a pin, but it does nothing for me in comparison to what free dining would do. So i'm really hoping for that:worship:

Ok, everyone, have a nice night. We're off to work on a puzzle. I'll take a pic of it when it's finished.

I love the Christmas pix. I also noticed you have orbs in your picture, just like Connie has in some of hers..........:lmao:. I'm glad to hear that your Christmas was nice. I'm kinda glad it is over since I have been so depressed this year. My new year's resolution is going to be NOT to get injured or sick next year :rotfl2:. Between the swine flu and a ruptured achilles tendon it has been a really unhealthy year for me. I am praying for a better year in 2010.

I'll start with some pictures of Christmas eve morning. We did breakfast bright and early at my brother's house.
The girls got a lot of new clothes, boats, best friends club dolls, and Emily got her Dsi. That was from my Mom! They also got some barbie dolls and Emily, because she is getting older :confused3 got her own straightener, she has very frizzy hair, she likes to use it once in a while. She also got a little lamp cause she reads at night and they all got hair pieces and lip gloss and all of that fun little girl stuff.

I got a coat and a few sweaters from my brother and Jaclyn and a new purse and a very pretty scarf from my Mom. Manny got a few new outfits, a bunch of goodies to clean his car with and a paper shredder.

Here we are, all very sleepy!!!

We had a nice Christmas eve night. Everyone brought food and deserts. I don't think we got home til 9:30 and when we did, we put out cookies and milk and the kids played for a little bit and then went to bed so Santa could come.

And unfortunately, Anthony was not with us at all on Christmas eve, he was not out of bed for our breakfast and he was at his friends house when Manny was ready to pick him up before we went to his brother's. He wanted a little more time with his friend, so Manny told his Mom, that he will pick him up in the morning.

How it is to be little, right. And trying to go to sleep for Santa.

I have to upload our Christmas day pictures next!!! I'll try to do that tomorrow or friday!!!

Hope you had a great New Year's Day Pam!!!! May your whole year be filled with magic :wizard: and love :lovestruc, and a wonderful wedding :bride: and trip to Disney!!!!!!

Are you guys doing the park hopper this time around? I was saying on one of my posts on my pre trippie that Bill and I were deciding whether or not we wanted to do Park Hopper's or not. It looked like it worked out really well for you and your family without the park hopper when you guys went the first time. I still think we are going to go with it though- mainly because we are in the parks mostly more than the hotel. When we got back from our Aug. 08 trip, we decided that we loved ASMO, but we would stay at either another value or a mod. next time around (we were really thinking about doing CBR). But, I think it is going to be POP Century this time around because Austin is still little enough for the big lifelike icons. Plus there food court is awesome (It's really similar to ASMO, except there is more to choose from- big ice cream bar, more selections etc., and there is a HUGE gift shop right before you walk into it). It is really great that you guys cose CBR- it is very pretty there (well I haven't been there since I was about 7, 20 years ago!!!!!!- but it was awesome then!). Can't wait to hear from you!

Hello!

I am finally caught up on your PTR--life sure gets in they way of DISing!! :lmao: You are so lucky to be getting pin codes--I wish I would get one! Of course, the free DDP would be a great deal and we are hoping for it as well! I believe the announcement is made usually late March/beginning of April. Really not that far away--but I will be doing a happy jig once they do release it and I get it applied to the rooms! :rotfl: I will seriously be on :cloud9:.

Love the pictures! Happy Holidays!

Pam, such great pictures! I absolutely adore Sam's headband with the rhinestones. She's too cute.
You guys had such a packed holiday season! Just the way we love it, too-- seeing as many people we love as possible!

ETA: Happy New Year, Pam, and everyone!!

Thanks!!! Happy New Year to you too!!!

Thanks!! No, we're not doing park hopper. I honestly think it's not worth the money for us. We didn't once say " I wish we had the hopper" during our last trip, so we're sticking without it! I do believe we are going to add the waterpark and more option.
Pop Century looks awesome too. I love the lake. If we do end up going with a value instead of CBR we'd do POP!!!

Exciting News!!!!!

SAM HAS REACHED THE 40 INCH MARK

We've been saying for a few days that we were going to see if she reached it yet, and she is right on the line. So, by September she won't have any problems. We're so excited. I want her to ride Soarin, dinosaur, and test track with us. The others, like RnR and ToT are up to her. She says she is going to go on those, but we'll see when she's standing in front of them.

Also, i'm not sure if i've said it before but we're going to add the water park and more option.
We're excited to go to the water parks, the kids really wanted to go there in May, of course.
And Disney quest, oh my god, Anthony will love that. We all will ,but he'll never want to leave.

Hey! Pam
great Christmas!!!! lots of fun and love had and given by all...you can see it in every face! I decided to do the Zhu Zhu's for Easter and seen a commercial today that shows the new boats and cars, I think Ashton will love them! I normally wait until "Little Christmas" Jan 6 to tak edown the tree but we went ahead and did it this past weekend...with Joe's sofa in the house it is just too crowded.

Great idea on the waterpark option...my older kids loved it in May; in fact Gwendolyn told me we needed to add two days to our next trip!

congrats on the 40" we measured Ashton Saturday he is at 39.5" so he should be able to ride most things in May and def in Nov whenever we go!!!

Awe what cute pics- the kids look so happy!!! It looks like they all truly had a great christmas!!!!

Congrats to Sam on the big 40 inch mark!!!!!! She will love all of those rides if she is anything like my little Austin (the daredevil). On our Aug. 08 trip, he was almost three, and we took him on the ToT, Dinosaur, Big Thunder Mountain, Splash Mountain, and he loved ALL of them. I know, we sound like horrible parents, but he is tall for his age (he was 10 lbs 1 oz, and 22 1/2 inches long when he was born :scared1:). He laughed the whole time on ToT and loved Splash Mountain!!!! Sam will love them!!!!!!

Thats great that you chose the Water Park and more package. Blizzard beach is really cool. I was there back in 2000 and it is like a wintery themed waterpark!!!!! We are not really into waterparks ( I mean, we go to Six Flags every now and then or Wildwood- but its not something I usually do in Disney- maybe when he is older). You guys will love it though if you are big waterpark fans. Oh and Disney Quest is amazing too- they have some really neat stuff in there :hippie:- Anthony will probably be in all his glory!!!!!

Oh and POP is a great resort choice if you don't do CBR. Great food court, great pop culture theming, and it is set by a beautiful lake. If you loved ASMo, you'll love this!!!! Also POP does not share buses with other resorts like the All Star Resorts do.

Eager to here more of your plans- have a great night!!!

Morning Pam,

First of all, great Christmas pics. You guys always look like you are having a great time.

I remember measuring my son all year long in the hope that he'd reach the height requirement. It's so exciting when kids finally reach the mark. Congrats to Sam!

I think adding the water park & more option is a great idea. We did it for several years and had a blast. We'd go to Typhoon Lagoon in the morning and go to Disney Quest that night. My 12 year old son was in heaven when he walked into Disney Quest. I am so not a gamer and even I liked it.

Did I miss it somewhere.....did you finally decide for sure where you are staying?
