We are having a ceremony at the Shades of Green Resort. I could really use some recommendations for ceremony musician(s). We'd like a musician or two to play a little bit right before the ceremony, then play for the walk down the aisle, and play for a little while after the ceremony while we take some pictures (couple hours total).
Does anyone have any recommendations? Or does anyone have any advice on who NOT to hire?
Thanks!

Not a lot of people on this board right now have had Shades of Green weddings, and most of those who have DFTWs don't get to pick their musicians - Disney makes all the arrangements. :thumbsup2
I'm sorry you're not having much luck...

Well, the Shades of Green part doesn't actually matter. What matters is that it isn't a Disney run wedding so I am getting my own vendors. I was under the impression that was not horribly unusual...

I am _very_ surprised that no one has any recommendations. I'm looking at a Swan wedding, so I'm interested in seeing if I can get a musician for 1 hr for less than $600. :|

I don't have any recommendations myself but you can contact the music department at the college nearby if there is one, and if you are getting married in Orlando there is the University of Central Florida and some junior colleges as well. They have many times music students that will play at weddings and other occasions who are very good and not that expensive as if you were to hire some professionals. Just thought that might help you out. You could also contact some churches in the area and see if they have people they know that play at wedding ceremonies.

Definitely. We are having a Monday wedding. I'm sure weekends are generally more expensive, but not by a ridiculous amount.
We talked to three harpists who are quoting $300-350 for two hours. One of them quotes a duet (harp with violin or flute or cello) for $475 and a trio for $650 for two hours.
We talked to a pianist who will do two hours for $300. (Her new website doesn't have demos up yet though. I wish it did.)
Talked to one place that will provide 4 performers for $600 for two hours.
So, anyway, they are definitely out there. We haven't made a decision yet though. We better do it soon. Wedding's in less than a month!! :scared1:
Let me know if you want any specifics. I just Googled to find these people. Or checked out Orlando wedding websites.

Hey there we used Kathleen with Orlando Harpist for our ceremony. We had and harp and violin we paid $450 total, they played before during and after the ceremony which was about 2.5 hours. They were really good all of your guests raved.
