Hi guys!!!

Boy! I have a BUNCH of posts to respond to!

I want to give you guys an update on things around here and beg you to wait a bit for the next update. :thumbsup2

I have one more update before I am going to need Photopass Pics to tell the rest of the story!

Meanwhile, Lori - Lucas' Mom - has started a trip report on her thread...

Lucas' Pre-Trip report and Trip Report (http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2169670)

I am just getting back to work after being off for almost a week. I will be able to update again this evening, hopefully!

The post with Mickey opening up his arms for the boys to run to just choked me up (literally, I was eating skittles and when I saw that I just couldn't handle it). I am so glad that this family got to experience all the wonders that they did. I can't wait to read about the rest of their experiences.

You are a special person. I work for a company that hires people to work with the eldelry and disabled. And most of them are only worried about the paycheck. To "meet" someone who LOVES helping out others is truely magical.

Can't wait for the rest. I hope you have a great day.

I'm lucky enough to be a member of the Disney World Moms Panel and all the panel have got together and raised quite a bit of money for Give Kids The World, we're presenting it to them next week, so it was so lovely to read what good work they do :thumbsup2

What a pleasant surprise! :) Long-time DIS-member, however I don't often get to log in much these days (I poke in once in a while when I can) So glad I stumbled upon this...I'm a current WDW RR Steam Train Engineer!! :D

I remember this day...I was operating one of the other trains. Sadly, I did not get to sign the boys' hats; however I did see them with their engineer hats on through the doorway of Main Street Station as I was pulling in :)
This is a tremendously wonderful pictorial recap of their Magical Day! These photos speak volumes :thumbsup2 I will be sure to forward the link on to Engineer Ed...I'm sure he would love to see this.

WDW RR Engineer Donna

Believe it or not I believe I remember seeing you. I was noticing a woman was an engineer and I thought that was so cool.

Words justcannot express our deep appreciation for the engineers at MK they made Lucas feel so special that day. Everyone was so kind and patient with him. He has fallen in love with those trains. He recieved a train from Disney and has been playing trains at Disney.

We is already asking when he can come back to visit the trains at Disney.

Great update, good thinking using your phone to take pictures on the train, as they really had some awesome interaction.

I am bawling happy tears, such a great experience for an awesome boy and his family. So neat that you could be part of it to help capture the magic.:thumbsup2

The most AMAZING - completely surreal thing - just happened to me! :goodvibes

I was watching TV and about to walk out the door to go to my friend's house when I jumped on the DIS real quick.

(I know, I know...addicted!)

I checked my UserCP...made a few posts...then decided to check the Theme Parks board real quick before I walked out the door.....

When I saw THIS:

Did you open MK on 9/7? (http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2296167)

and inside it said...

"If so, let me know i have some pics of you!"

People...It was the FIRST thread on that board. She had JUST posted it.

Not the second or third...the FIRST thread. She posted at 5:45...I responded at 5:48.

I have chills.

I am crying.

I can't believe someone would take the time to even post at all on the DIS that they had pictures of a family they didn't even know.

She had no idea that was a Wish Family. She had no idea I was on the DIS.

I love Disney. I love the DIS.

Everything about this whole thing...from the beginning (remember - this all started because someone saw a small post on the same Theme Parks Board) to now...

So...when I get those pics...I will be able to continue this TR! (That is what I was waiting for!)

Feel free to post on that thread and thank this very nice person for offering these pics!!!!! How very, very kind!!

And I can't wait for more!

Maroo - thank you. Disney, thank you. Lucas and his family - thank y'all. I'm off to listen to the Podcast (if I can hear it through the muffled sobs....I think I need Daisy, too!)

I keep putting off updating this...:surfweb:

Because I want to respond to each one of you guys individually...

I am overwhelmed by the PM's, emails, thread messages and posts here.

I am so glad that you guys are enjoying this Trip Report. And while I really want to respond to each one of you individually...this HUGE HUG will have to do for now. :grouphug:

Before I go on... (And this WILL go on!) I want to take this opportunity to address a few of you guys. Many of you guys have asked, "What can I do to help?" How can you contribute to future magical moments for our DIS wish kids.

I am going to give you guys a few thoughts about that...for everyone reading this!

From what I know from these families...the BEST thing anyone can do is to support them. Pray for them. Write them messages. Follow their trip reports. Post. That is such an encouragement to many of our families.

THIS (http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2039777) is the Wish Trippers Unite Thread (http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2039777). Many wish trips are listed here...pre-trip reports and Trip Reports. They are filled with magic before the kids even leave for Disney.

A few of our families have very sick children. Visit their blogs. Post messages.

Here is one - but there are many!! Most of our wish families have the links to their blogs in their signatures. Mya's Mom has finished her trip report and does not post as much now.

Mya's Caringbridge Site (http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/myaroseharris) Mya has not been doing well and I know her Mom would really appreciate visitors to her page.

There are a few of you guys that have wanted to do something tangible. If so...check out this website...

www.disbiggive.com

This was created by DISers for DISers that want to make clothes, iron on shirts and send small gifts directly to the wish families. The more people we have participate the more families we can include in The Big Give.

Thank you ALL so very much for your posts to this thread and the other threads on the DIS that have brought you here to read this.

Join us in making more magic for these very special families. :littleangel:

Where were we?

Ah...:cloud9:

The most magical morning EVER, I believe!

While we were boarding the train to come to Main Street and welcome the folks waiting for rope drop...there were DISers in the crowd.

Now...we did not know these DISers. We had no idea that there would be DISers out there taking pictures of US. But there were...and not just one...

So far I have received pics from THREE of them.

HUGE thank you to livinlife25 who started a thread on the Theme Parks Board to offer pictures. This caught the attention of Tink's Pixieduster and TillyMarigold. :grouphug:

Tink's Pixieduster even had her sister send us pictures! :grouphug:

TillyMarigold is still out of pocket and has not been able to forward hers to us...but once she does, I will post them for you guys! :thumbsup2

I will post these in a chronological order of sorts...

Before the magic begins...

It is so cool that you have these great pictures of your magical morning from the other side of the tracks. I love seeing it all, and I wasn't even a part of it, so I know how much it means to you guys.

I love, love, love reading this trip report! And I bawled like a baby when I saw Mickey holding his arms open wide for the boys. What a great Magical Moment! Thanks for sharing!

Maroo,

Words escape me. I followed the thread on Theme Parks but this is more than I could imagine.

Just so, so special.

I have finally had time to organize my Photopass pictures!

Because of the wonderful people on the DIS who sent us pictures, you guys have seen some similar pictures already!

We have just hopped off the train and are getting our confetti to throw!

http://i933.photobucket.com/albums/ad174/marooTR/2009/Lucas%20Morning/Image069.jpg

I LOVE  this picture!

This truly was a dream come true for this family...so I just love the "Where Dreams Come True" border. Perfectly describes this wonderful day!

http://i933.photobucket.com/albums/ad174/marooTR/2009/Lucas%20Morning/Image080.jpg

Same picture...but a different border. I like this border, too...since the MK was all decorated for the Fall.

http://i933.photobucket.com/albums/ad174/marooTR/2009/Lucas%20Morning/Image086.jpg

After we threw the confetti the CM said that we had to stand there and wave to the crowd - welcoming them to the Magic Kingdom!

How cool is that!

http://i933.photobucket.com/albums/ad174/marooTR/2009/Lucas%20Morning/Image103.jpg

Then the CM hurried us over to take a very fast picture with the Main Street Singers and Mickey himself!

http://i933.photobucket.com/albums/ad174/marooTR/2009/Lucas%20Morning/Image111.jpg

Everything was moving SO FAST!

Mickey had to leave QUICK so that he would not be stopped by the many people now entering the Magic Kingdom. I suppose it was time for him to get some breakfast! ;)

At this point, my camera was FULL of pictures. I have a 1G card, but I had taken pictures during my trip and had no idea that I would be taking so many pictures on this magical morning. So, when we sat down for that picture, they were not able to put any more pictures on my camera! :scared1:

Kent, the Manager for Main Street, realized this problem and hurried away to fix it!

http://i933.photobucket.com/albums/ad174/marooTR/2009/Lucas%20Morning/IMG_1793.jpg

He returned with a 2G card for my camera! :thumbsup2 I just could not believe it! No charge. No, Disney didn't want my money. They gave it to me for FREE! How nice was that! :cheer2: I will be taking many Disney pictures with it for years to come!

We said our goodbyes to Ed - the wonderful train engineer. :sad1:

http://i933.photobucket.com/albums/ad174/marooTR/2009/Lucas%20Morning/IMG_1791.jpg

Now what?

I had met this family for the first time just 2 and a half hours earlier. But we were quite close already! Lucas was ready to ride some rides. And I was ready to ride some rides, too!

I called my friend that was in Disney with me and let her know that I would be at the MK for a few more hours. She was happy to sleep in and get some work done (I know...work at Disney! Bummer!) and would meet me later at the MK.

When I started this pre-trip report...My plan was to only report on the first few hours...

Am I allowed to stop?

Maroo :littleangel:- Thank you so much for taking the time to detail every moment of the morning. I know I personally could not wait to hear what they had arranged. I am so glad that you all got to participate in so much and that Lucas and his family had such a fantastic time! This is why we do what we do! pixiedust: I have seen many dear friends in your pictures and will make sure that I pass the link on to them so that they can see how they played a part in such a fantastic day!

Thank you SO MUCH for taking the time to tell this sweet story.

As a mom, I can imagine the way these parents must have felt on that day. I am so grateful that there are such caring, kind souls in the world ... think of all the individuals who came together to make this dream a reality for this little boy. It's truly heart-warming. You really got my tears flowing today - in a good way.

Sincerely - Thank you for sharing all of this with us.

Best wishes to every one who was part of that wonderful day!
