The old Tomorrowland Skyway building has recently been torn down. Besides the skyway, which has been out of operation for a long time, that building also housed one of the MK Companion Restrooms.

The sign outside of the area says the area will open again on November 22 and directs people to use the restrooms by Auntie Gravity's and Star Traders. That restroom does not include a Companion Restroom.

The nearest Companion Restroom to Tomorrowland is in Mickey's Toontown Fair, near the entrance to that area.

Not to start a debate - I just want to know the right way to do things. My trip in Dec. will be me and DS16 (has Down Syndrome). When he needs to go, he needs to go NOW. Generally, I can send him in alone if I can hang by the door. But there are times he needs help (specifically if he needs to have a BM). If I think he's going to need help, I try to hit a companion restroom. But that isn't always possible - so my choices are take him into the ladies, or go into the men's myself. From outward appearances, it is obvious he is disabled, but he IS a 16 year old boy. Thoughts?

Thanks,
Lisa

I truly cannot imagine anybody having a problem with you bringing him in with you if necessary, 16 or not.

As long as he acts appropriately (no peeking into the stalls, looking underneath, etc) of course you should bring him in with you. You're going to have to go to the bathroom some time as well, so you'd have to bring him in then, wouldn't you? Or does he stay put outside? (I wish my family would stay put when I go into the restroom - hubby or one of the girls always wanders off, or all 3 of them go get a snack, and forget to tell me! :sad2: )

You could also use the restrooms at first aid/baby care stations if you are close to one of those!

I agree with the other posters.
You need to make the best choice available to you at the time - if there are no Companion Restrooms and he will need assistance, then your only choice is either bringing him into the Ladies Room with you or going into the Men's room with him.
