What do I do with the park map scrapbook paper? [Archive] - The DIS Discussion Forums

I purchased the Capture the Magic pack of paper last Oct. at Disney and am now finally getting around to scrapping that trip. I loved the pages that are like a map of each park, but now that I'm laying pictures on them, they seem so busy!

What has everyone else done with these pages if you have used them? Can you show me pictures of your layouts? My mind seems stuck in neutral on this!

I used it as the title page to that section of the park. I only added the title, date, one element, and one pic. The pic I placed the pic over an attraction we didn't visit. ;) Here's my MGM Title page from Oct '07 (someday I will finish this trip album, lol!)

I see what you mean about the paper kind of being busy... it's cool though! What if you use small photos (wallet size or smaller), and post them toward the edges of your layout (like the way Heather did). Then draw a straight line from the photo to the place on the map where the photo was taken? (make a dot on the map) Then it might feel like the viewer is zooming in on the fun in that location. Maybe no more than one photo in each 'land' or it will be too busy

After seeing the paper,
I remember someone used their extra maps and made sign posts that told about the attractions found in that area....

Let me look around and see if I can find it on here...it was really neat!!!

Nancy I love that idea. I am so scraplifting it. I have that paper too and haven't figure out what to do... I found a couple of pics from far away where someone is on ride that I will keep small and use near the ride on the map. If I ever get the pages done, I will post it.

Can't wait to see it... I needed a refresher..as I have many extra park maps, and I bought those pages in 2004 or 2005.... I need to dig them out for my 2008 book!!! :)

Don't you know, papers know when you are looking for them and go into hiding!
The cardinal paper (core-dinations)... I found it at Ally Scraps last week...the last place I would have thought of because she was all about Bazzill the last time I was in.. I went in on a whim..and she had the mother load! Go figure!

I haven't used the maps in my scrapping, I used them for backgrounds for my pin collection. But when I had a piece of paper that I didn't want to cover, this is what I did with it. By cutting it in half, and using one half per page, it left me room to put pictures on the sides without covering it.

The only way to get them is to buy the book of scrapping pages- there are 40 pages and it sold for about $15 when I got it- it includes the 4 park maps, pages with a background of each parks icons (in various colors with the little icons in a deeper shade), small world pages, and other various pages as such- most of them are tone on tone in blues, oranges, purples, and reds but not in the true tone more of grey or brown undertone.

Well, I happen to have a complete set of 4 that I am never going to use. One of you is welcome to it. I can return it with your resort swap. Do you want me to flip a coin or do you have a better idea?

I haven't been to WDW since Feb, but at that time, they sold that paper pack all over the place. For the one of you that doesn't get mine, I'm happy to check it out in however many days it says in my ticker and pick up a paper pack for you if they still have them. Some of the paper is good, and some is kind of funky, but I've I've used a majority of it so it was probably worth the cost.

It is a paper pack with a large black spiral binding- I have seen it lots of places when I have been there in the past. I will see if it is still out in couple of weeks if anyone wants.

Well, here is what I've come up with. I don't have the gold flowers fixed to the page yet b/c I'm not sure if it goes. It needs something up there, though. On the bright side, I found all my maps in my glove compartment still! :rotfl:

I'm going for my birthday, so I will be spending some intense shopping time in the stores debating the best way to spend my birthday gift card. Since Mickey Mouse is buying me a present, it has to be something extra good! And no need for a check ahead of time.

I've used the pages that look like maps to put DS's top five favorites at that park and I put the date that we visited that park. I then followed with the pages from that park. I.E.- Magic Kingdom might say is a journaling box Top 5
1. Splash Mt.
2. Big thunder mtn.
3. Buzz Lightyear SRS
4. Monster's Inc. Laugh Foor
5. POC

I'm sure I'll never use the pages. I tried to find some sort of picture of the pack on google, but came up with nothing, which doesn't leave me very hopeful that it's still in the parks, but yeah - I think there are some cool papers in there. Some duds, but more good ones, I'd say. Worth it alone for the papers that actually say "Epcot" and "WDW", etc.

Well, I hated to assume everyone loves shopping as much as me! I'd love for you to pick it up! I do wish I could go with you and get it myself instead! I almost had DH agreeing to go Oct 2-Oct 9th. Ah well, we've got the cruise next year!

4- It's a small world - pink, blue, purple and green

4- space Mickey w/ rocket ships - purple, grey, pink and what I would call a greenish/brown color

4- circles w/ park names in them - red, blue, yellow and teal

3- circles w/ only epcot in it - lt blue, gray and purple

3- multi dinosaur background- teal w/ green dinos, orange w/ yellow dinos, brown w/ dark brown dinos

2- multi Tree of life background - green and red

3- multi caslte background - red, blue and green

1 frontierland background - orange w/ mountains and mickey and some others

2- ToonTown w/ ribbons and toontown wrote on background - red and yellow

2- fireworks in background - yellow and red

4- Twinkly and nightime sky w/stars - purple, dark blue, blue fade to white, tealish green fade to white

4 -names of rides/attractions on background (big thunder mountain, shootin arcade, country bear, sawyer island, pecos bill cafe) -brown, purple, blue, orange.

thank your for posting what to do w/that paper. I bought it way back in 2004 and it has been sitting all these years. I bought a ton of scrapbooking stuff just knowing someday I would get into it, 5 years later I got into it! LOL.

I could not find the pack this week- I didn't look closely at the new parks book- it is $25. I will look and see if it has the pages in it. They also have a princess book out right now.

I have 2 of these for my kids just got back this year they dont have them i got mine 2 yrs ago they have princess paper set $25 & a mickey pack same style set & 2 different packsfor 2009 each$15 plus small packs of sticker packs .I wish they had more i would love another set.:cool1:Also no more Halloween scrapbooking items they did not sell well so stopped selling i wanted more of those.:cool1:
