Hi guys
I am a HUGE fan of New Balance shoes ever since my 2006 trip to WDW when I wore skechers to the parks and ended up with over 18 blisters on my feet after 2 days. I have seen the ads for the new skechers shape ups and gave in and bought a pair yesterday after trying them on and falling IN LOVE with the way they feel, I feel like I am bouncing on air, however, I know there is a difference in wearing them at home and in the parks? Has anyone bought these shoes and worn them in the parks and if so, how did they hold up? Any tips/advice would be great, i will still be bringing my New Balance shoes with me for back ups, but these shoes just feel incredible....so far!!!!
Thanks:)

Sorry, I haven't worn mine to the parks. But I just had to comment because I am wearing mine right now, and I haven't known anyone else who has them! I also think they are very comfortable! I would *think* they would be pretty comfortable to walk around the parks if you are used to wearing them, but I can't say for sure. :)
What color are yours? Mine are the white ones with yellow. :thumbsup2

I didnt wear those but i have a pair of sketchers sneakers with rhinestones on the sides with just a bit of foot support (not as much as the sports sneakers) and it seemed just good enough for me in the parks. I experienced no blisters at all and this was after wearing sandals in the parks but 3 days (i was shocked i didnt even get blisters with the sandals). I think with sneakers you shouldnt have a problem with blisters, especially if you wear them in for a bit. I didnt wear mine in but experienced no problems. They were so comfortable after wearing the sandals that i should have worn them from the beginning.

Oh I just absolutely love mine, I walked 2 miles at the gym last night and usually my feet get sore, especially with new shoes, not a bit of soreness and my calves are sore, so I love it, so far they seem to be doing what they are advertised to do, toning and support, I got the blue and white ones, I haven't seen the yellow and white, they sell out so fast here you just get whatever color you can, my mom is still on a waiting list for some.....
Thanks for the replies

I ordered mine online, and I was shocked at how popular they are. I first checked the skechers web site which had NO SELECTION (just the women's black pair), and they were talking about how limited a supply there was. I then checked DSW (they were $10 cheaper there anyway - which was a plus), and they had more of a selection (still not a lot though). They had the blue and white ones like you mentioned having, the yellow and white - those were the only "tennis shoe styled ones." Then they had "mary jane" styled ones in black and in white (maybe tan?). They also had some men's ones.
I was really skeptical at first (but figured it wouldn't hurt and if there was a benefit that was a positive - plus I can always use another pair of tennis styled shoes), but I do feel like my calves are more toned. They are definitely really comfy. I was only sore a little bit the first day, and that was about it. :cheer2:

I LOVE my Shape-Ups! I have the white with silver stitching...
I wore mine through the airport and for two days at WDW, and had no problems whatsoever. I rotated between the Shape-Ups and my Crocs. I've also worn the Shape-Ups to our local Six Flags park and while on a cruise to the Caribbean, and my feet were not complaining one bit!

I've been considering buying a pair of these for our trip, even though I don't need the toning, and am wondering wear to buy them? Also, dumb question here, do you wear socks with these or not? I plan on wearing shorts our whole trip...but i could also use these in our cold winter here in WI since all i have now are my flip flops...TIA everyone :cool2:

My brother took his shapeups to Disneyland and loved them. I have the original type, called MBTs and I've walked 8km in them (so like 4 miles). I would totally recommend it, it's what I'm taking down to the park (a pair of them in sneakers, a pair in sandals and then a pair of crocs for water).

I have Shape Ups and like them, but only use them for short periods of time. I have read others who have worn them for hours on end who wind up with leg, knee, back pain. Not sure I'd try them out for long periods of walking while at Disney. Not a good place to have any of that kind of pain and have to get up and walk all day again!

I have a pair of the original Shapeups and I have a pair of SRR (Shapeups Resistance Runners) and I love them both. I love how comfortable the Shapeups are on my feet.
I wore them to WDW last year and while they were great for walking around, I did have some trouble while standing in line. My feet started to hurt more and they became uncomfortable. When I got home, I did some research and learned that the originals are great for going for walks, but not meant for all day wear. They also make all day wear Shapeups. Those would probably be better at the parks.

About 1 1/2 years ago because alot if the nurses I work with wear them, I went to our local shoe store to get a pair of the Sketcher Tone ups. However, after trying on several other brands and walking around the store in them, I round up walking out with a pair of Avia Avia-Motion. The salesman recommended them over the Sketchers or MBTs that I was looking at. They're built on the same principle, but for some reason felt better on my feet. After wearing them for 8 hour shifts for about a month, I had to go back and buy me another pair.:rotfl: Some of my coworkers have also switched from the Sketcher Toneups and MBTs to the Avia Avia-Motions. Now I've never worn them to WDW, as I live in flip flops down there, but I love them to work in. I've also worn them shopping all day on several occasions and never had a problem. They might be another option for you to check out.
