My daughter and I want to learn how to do our own design of something we've seen.

She wants her name cut out (bubbles) with the characters background.

We've downloaded a bubble font (doesn't have capital letters though). I wish we could find a capital bubble font.

Then we have Word and Picasa.

Can we use one of those and can someone tell us simply how to do it.

The only way we know to do text is by doing a textbox.

PLEASE HELP!! Her name is Alyssa but she'd like to learn to do it herself. We saw Amy's designs and that's sort of how she wants it.

I don't know anything about Picasa but I'm pretty sure you won't be able to do it with MS Word. Sorry! You will need photoshop elements (or pro) or a similar editing software.

A friend of mine that is very fluent in Word has done it. She says it's not easy though. I find Word too limiting for graphics.

If she only wants to do the one name then download Adobe Photoshop Elements 30 day trial and use this tutorial (http://www.planetphotoshop.com/photos-within-type-part-1.html) to do it. The tutorial works for both PSE and regular Photoshop.

If you do decide to buy the program shop around as you may be able to get a good deal on it somewhere other than Adobe.

Thanks!! This is something I would like to look at further. Thanks, Dolly, for doing the pages she wants. I will start looking around for this software. I wish I had more time to do this. But, right now, I'm going to focus on getting our books ready!

Thanks, Vicki
