Me too!!!

I am currently taking a social service worker program. I then hope to go to university part time and get a BA or Masters in Social Work. It's hard being a student again, I am so used to working and making money.

okay i officially love u!! :rotfl: the five minute thing is SO right. and SO annoying. and i get the whole "what the heck you're 25!?!? thing alot" lol no one believes it! which is a-ok with me! :cloud9: if you came to canada, you could have some drinks with me!!!

and i am excited for my night tonight! especially to see the baby. i just loooover her to pieces! oh and my bff too lol

Aw I love you too!! The hair is so annoying. I think that someone should pay us to go to Florida and test out what works and doesn't to tame curly hair in Florida!! And you know...we'd have to be out in the parks like all day to make sure it really holds! :rotfl: We're just trying to help out the people!!

I bet you do get the :scared1: reaction to the 25 thing!! I hope I look as good as you when I am that old and have everyone fooled!! I bet you even get carded in Canada for drinking! :rotfl: (Which I'll have to come up there with you to do by the way!)

I love how you had the "oh and my bff too"! That's how my friends were. They always ask about Landon instead of me now!! It's okay though, I don't mind! ;)

haha your such a talker i love it! lets have sing a longs!! :lovestruc

im glad i got to meet them too! they are sooo cute!! thats sad they took them out but awesome about THUMPER!! where did u see this?! i wanna see pics!!

and i'll try to post the rest of what happens tonight or tomorrow!

I am such a talker...and a singer, so I'm totally down for the sing a longs!! I don't even have to be at something like FOTLK, I can just be walking down the street!! It's a good time. I wish life were a musical! I think that'd be fun!

I read about Thumper on the Theme Park Attractions and Strategies board!! I went through about 8 pages to find the link for you, so you know i love you girl! It's here (http://disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2300844)!

haha, you gotta love people who freak out during the attractions. I bet those ladies in ITTBAB were pretty funny.

Great safari pictures! How cool you saw the baby elephants. The elephants are always my favorite.

BTW, the tour we are doing in April is the Backstage Safari Tour. I'm really excited to see what they show us!

Florida hair testers...I don't even need to get paid in money, just have all my food and clothes and living arrangements provided. (Oh and living arrangements = castle)

AHHH I didn't mean "that old" like that!! You're not even old!! I just hope no one believes I'm as old as I am in the future. Is that worded better? See, I think you just have a younger than you are look and that'll probably stay with you and you won't ever really look like you are. People usually think I'm older now and I'm scared that they'll always think I'm older than I am...which because more of a problem the older you actually get!

Aw do you have picture of the Tinkerbell cake? It sounds so adorable!! That was so sweet of her!!

Hope you enjoyed the link! :goodvibes

Day 4: Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show

We had finished getting all dolled up for our night

http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj63/vodisney/food%20report%20pics/DisneyWorld2009150.jpg

and headed off into the light rain to the Poly. As soon as we stepped foot inside the resort

http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj63/vodisney/food%20report%20pics/DisneyWorld2009218.jpg
(yea... im such a dork! i know!)

we fell in love with the Poly. Its definitly where I'd love to stay on my next visit to the World! As soon as we entered we got leid (is that how you spell it?)

http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj63/vodisney/food%20report%20pics/DisneyWorld2009153.jpg

http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj63/vodisney/food%20report%20pics/DisneyWorld2009154.jpg

and then we were off to take our over priced 30 dollar picture package. We weren't going to spend that much on a picture so we asked them to take a pic with our camera too. Notice how crap-tastic it is lol. The professional one was much better but still wasn't shelling out 30 bucks for it!

http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj63/vodisney/food%20report%20pics/DisneyWorld2009157.jpg

After we had our picture taken we wandered around the gift shop and admired all the beautiful art they had.

http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj63/vodisney/food%20report%20pics/DisneyWorld2009158.jpg

Soon they annouced we could move into the dining area! Our dinner wasnt ruined afterall!

http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj63/vodisney/food%20report%20pics/DisneyWorld2009160.jpg

We were kinda worried about going Spirit of Aloha because it recieves so many negative reviews here on the DIS. We wanted to go to something with all you can drink so it was between this and HDDR. I know many people on the disboards are big HDDR fans but after watching a youtube video we decided it was definitly not something we wanted to see (sorry HDDR fans!!)

We were seated soon enough and even though we had reserved cat 3 seating we still had front row seats!! We were just off to the side, but that was a-ok with us!

http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj63/vodisney/food%20report%20pics/DisneyWorld2009168.jpg
our view

The place where they have the show is pretty nice! my only complaint would be the tables are pretty close together!

We were erved Coconut Bread, Salad with Mango type dressing and fresh pineapple. We were also asked what we wanted to drink.

http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj63/vodisney/food%20report%20pics/DisneyWorld2009163.jpg

Our waiter was great! very friendly and very fast!! Alocohol was brought to our table all through the night and we were never short on it!! It was great!!

I took my first bite of coconut bread, bracing myself for the awfulness that the dis people told me to expect. I was completely surprised when I tasted the most yummy bread of ALL TIME! It was SOOOOOOOO good!!! We ate almost this whole platter lol We were offered more but we declined, since the main part was coming up next.

http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj63/vodisney/food%20report%20pics/DisneyWorld2009173.jpg
platter!

http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj63/vodisney/food%20report%20pics/DisneyWorld2009172.jpg
a better view

The goodness didnt stop at the appitizers. Everything here was wonderful!!! The ribs and chicken were GREAT (and fully coooked!) The rice was tasty and the veggies were done just right!!

Next up was the chocolate volcanoes. i loved the little waiter parade they put on to bring these babies out!! so much fun!

http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj63/vodisney/food%20report%20pics/DisneyWorld2009175.jpg

It was like a weird chocolate mouse, and Im not a mousse person but I still ate a bit of it and liked it. Craig REALLY liked his.

Now onto some other thoughts.... I didnt like that there were no drinks I enjoyed drinking. Im a fruity drink kinda girl and they only had beer and wine. I settled for a Rose wine and while it did the job, it wasnt the yummiest drink in the world. Then again I'm more of a fruity cocktail with sugar on the rim sorta lady.

Craig is a beer man... really he loves his beer but he was not impressed by the beer here. He said it went warm and flat very quickly and according to his beer expertise it was clearly the bottom of the keg beer.

I tried his beer... and yet again it tasted like beer to me. But he is the beer expert so I took his word on it! Now you should also note that this did not stop him from drinking plenty of the free beer anyhow!

As for the show, yes I agree the first part with many that it could use some new ideas. It wasnt nearly as bad as people made it sound though! We enjoyed it and we also liked that there was a break while the food was served so you didnt have to pay complete attention to the show and we could talk to one another

The second part of the show was fab-u-lous!! The dancing was wonderful and of course the fire dancer took the cake!!

I definitly will say this though... I can see why many people dont like this if they have children, I dont think its a show that a kid could go to and really enjoy however if you are looking for a romantic fun adult night out this is a great choice!

All in all we both agrees it was our favorite meal of the trip!! 10/10!!

After dinner, and many many all you can drink drinks we ended the night by hanging around the Poly on the beach and snuggling in the Hammock.

http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj63/vodisney/food%20report%20pics/DisneyWorld2009181.jpg

http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj63/vodisney/food%20report%20pics/DisneyWorld2009216.jpg

http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj63/vodisney/food%20report%20pics/DisneyWorld2009196.jpg

http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj63/vodisney/food%20report%20pics/DisneyWorld2009199.jpg

http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj63/vodisney/food%20report%20pics/DisneyWorld2009206.jpg

http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj63/vodisney/food%20report%20pics/DisneyWorld2009202.jpg

http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj63/vodisney/food%20report%20pics/DisneyWorld2009207.jpg

http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj63/vodisney/food%20report%20pics/DisneyWorld2009209.jpg

http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj63/vodisney/food%20report%20pics/DisneyWorld2009211.jpg

Unfortunatly Craig had a wee bit too much to drink and got a little boo boo! :( (he actually had this before but it started bleeding from his sillyness on the hammocks!) So before we could head back to POP we had to go get some bandaids! The man at the front desk ever so nicely gave us about a million little bandages, along with a disgusted look on his face after seeing the cut. lol

So Craig gave himself some TLC, which resulted in this...
http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj63/vodisney/food%20report%20pics/DisneyWorld2009220.jpg

Then we were off to POP. We had to stop at DTD and switch busses but we still got back "home" pretty quickly! We went back to the room and hung out for a bit then we decided it was time to catch up on some sleep. Craig was excited that we didnt have to wake up for anything tomorrow because we planned to just relax all day.... boy was he wrong! hehe

*Sigh* I realllllllllly miss all that food right now. I seriously love everything that we eat at the Luau!

Great Luau report!:)I just wanted to mention that, when you were finished at Polynesian,if Magic Kingdom was still open,or had been closed under 2 hours, you could have Monorailed,or better yet took the fun boat ride over to Magic Kingdom's Bus Depot and caught a bus to Pop Century there. That would have been MUCH faster and more FUN than going to DTD.:)

Loveee it as usual, girl! Great update-- I also love your sundress! (Makes me wish it was warm enough NOW to wear sundresses-- not that I'm not excited for a hopefully white Christmas!)
I also LOVED the Poly when we went there for Ohana, but DBF thinks that if we're going to spend that money, he'd rather stay at the Contemporary or Grand Floridian. Boo!

OKay...wow the luau looks great!! I really wish I could've gone to that!! You probably were referring to me as an HDDR fan, because, well I AM!! But if you remember, I was desperately trying for the luau but it wasn't showing the nights I wanted!! :sad2: Next time!!

That food looks delicious!! Did they just keep bringing Craig beer? I'm only asking because they just brought out my dad and a bunch of the guys whole pitchers!! I wonder if they do that there! All that food looks delicious!!

I will definitely have to go next time before Landon gets too big. What do you think people with kids didn't like about it? I know now Landon would just be entranced with the fire guy!! He really loved the energy of HDDR. Is the luau have a lot of energy or is it more of a relaxing vibe?

you are just too sweet my dear.

you gotta know I have nothing against the HDDR fans, just from watching the videos I dont think it would be something I would ennjoy. :confused3 I may just have to try it out and see for myself though!

They did just keep bringing him beers, about 3 at a time! :thumbsup2 No pitchers though.

I would say the Luau is more relaxing until the end with the dancing, then it gets more lively. I think you could get away with going with Landon while he's still little but I think for younger kids they just mght not enjoy it, especially the big show/acting part in the beginning. The dancing part is very enjoyable though, and Im sure most kids would like it. I definitly think it's a show geared more towards adults though.

I would definitely at least give HDDR a chance sometime!! You could be surprised or you could be right! At least you'd know!! I definitely think I want to at least try everything once in all of WDW!! Maybe that could be another part of our "job" when we're testing out how to manage hair in FL humidity!

Thats funny that they would bring 3 at a time!! I'm not a beer pro by any means either like you!! Although this one guy I dated only drank Budweiser and I kind of developed a taste for that, but I think its faded by now! Beer is beer, right? :confused3

Thanks for answering all my questions about the luau! Its definitely something I want to try next time! I hope Landon does well for it!

I probably eventually will try it out and see what its like. Its all you can drink too, so it cant be horrible :rotfl: I definitly wanna try out everything too! Im starting to like this job description more and more!!

It was pretty great that our waiter brought them out 3 at a time. He was pretty young and Craig told him to keep it coming! He was awesome!

Beer is beer is beer to me. But not to Craig. Hes a pro.

Day 5: Typhoon Lagoon

So today was supposed to be our big relaxation/do nothing day. Our only plans consisted of sleeping, nursing our hangovers from the Luau, watching tv, tanning, hanging out by the pool and maybe playing some outdoor twister. Other then that we had DTD planned for the night and adr's for Raglan Roads at 8oclock-ish.

At about 10am we awoke to the sound of construction, right outside our room! We tried to sleep through it, as we were so so tired from hitting rope drop morning after morning but we couldn't sleep any longer. I was expecting both of us to really be feeling the pain from the all you can drink Luau, but surprisingly we both felt fine! We watched some tv for a bit and then started talking about the day. We took a peek outside the door and realized our day of relaxation was being hijacked by construction workers!!!

So we decided that instead of lounging around we would add the water parks and more option to our passes and check out Typhoon Lagoon instead.

So we got dressed and headed down to the lobby to add those on and off we went to Typhoon Lagoon. I was so excited that we were going there because I had never been to any of the water parks and always wanted to try one!

We walked in and took some pics by the enterance.

http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj63/vodisney/DisneyWorld2009233.jpg

Then stepped into the park. It was pretty awesome! The themeing was GREAT! But we wouldn't expect any less from Disney of course.

http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj63/vodisney/DisneyWorld2009234.jpg

http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj63/vodisney/DisneyWorld2009248.jpg

We wandered around to try and find lockers for our stuff and then it started drizzeling. Great! A rainy day at the water park! Ugh. We continued to the lockers and on the way we stopped for some lunch. I had a yummy tuna salad sandwhich (which was amazing!) with a coconut orange smoothie (also amazing|) and craig had some chicken nuggets, which he liked too.

http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj63/vodisney/food%20report%20pics/DisneyWorld2009235.jpg

http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj63/vodisney/food%20report%20pics/DisneyWorld2009237.jpg

After lunch the rain had stopped to we put our stuff in the lockers and headed out to the wave pool. The waves were rolling but I had no intention of wading far out into the gigantic wave pool. Craig however, wanted to ride the waves and I planted my behind on a little ledge at the edge of the pool and Craig headed to the deep end.

As he was heading over the waves stopped. I figured they would start up again very soon. So I sat on my ledge and I waited, and waited and waited some more! Honestly I must have waited probably 30-40 minuted for these waves to start so Craig could come back so we could hit some water slides. Finially after what seemed like forever the waves began. After they were done Craig finially came back over to me! He had been just treading water in the deep end waiting for the waves to come lol. I guess it sucked more for him then for me.

Next we decided to check out the slides. We headed for the big family slide first. It was a long wait of 30 minutes but we thought it would be really fun because we could go down together. We waited for a while and then finially we're at the front. I was so excited, expecting this big huge awesome slide. Boy was I wrong. It was the shortest, slowest slide ever. I know its supposed to be a family ride, which is fine for the speed, but it was SOOO short.

http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj63/vodisney/photopass3.jpg

I know I'm smiling in the picture, I think its because I dont realize that the ride is done... after 2 seconds!!

After that we headed for a round on the lazy river. That was fun but very very crowded, with many children pushing thier way through. We still enjoyed it though, its whats to be expected with a lazy river.

After that Craig decided to check out Kumunga Kowabunga! I opted not to try it out because I'm a big wimp. He really liked it!!

We then headed for our last ride of the day, Crush and Gusher. This is the one we were both excited for and it did not disappoint! It was so much fun!!

Our day was coming to an end because we wanted to get back to the hotel and relax and get ready for our dinner at Raglan Roads. So we relaxed on the fake beach for a bit then wandered and took some pics of the park, since obviously we didn't keep our camera with us throughout the day!

http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj63/vodisney/DisneyWorld2009283.jpg

We then dried off, put on some clothes and headed back to Pop for some relaxing and getting ready.

http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj63/vodisney/DisneyWorld2009253.jpg

On our way out we stopped and got some amazing tasting mini doughnuts with white chocolate dip. These were to die for!!! I would give anything to have them right now! mmmm.

http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj63/vodisney/food%20report%20pics/DisneyWorld2009286.jpg

We both really enjoyed Typhoon Lagoon. It a very pretty water park with lots to do and see. There were so many things we didnt get a chance to do because we got there so late and left so early but we really enjoyed ourselves and still felt much much more relaxed then doing one of the parks. up next: Raglan Roads

We really enjoyed it! Its a great way to have more of a relaxing day and still be doing something. Also with the water parks and more option you get to check out Disney Quest, which we checked out on the last day and of course I'll post about but it was actually REALLY fun! We thought it was just gunna be a big arcade but we were so surprised with how much stuff was in that building! I think its worth checking out for sure.

I can't wait to hear about the rest of your night at DTD!! And visually re-live the yumminess of RR!

Day 5: Downtown Disney

After some relaxation it was off to DTD for the night. We had dinner reservations for Raglan Roads at 8:30pm but we headed down earlier to look around some more and catch some night life. We arrived at DTD around 6pm (i think!) and spent time browsing in the stores, trying on hats and getting a few drinks.

We both really enjoyed our time there, my favorite store being a tie between the Christmas Store and the World of Disney Store. Craig's favorite was by far the Lego store. We both thought the new Dinosaur Resturant (can't think of the name right now) looked pretty cool and we'd like to try it some time! We also bought each other a gift at the World of Disney, I bought Craig a small Buzz LightYear and a small Donald Duck stuffed animal. Craig got me a adorible Dumbo stuffed animal. Both were shipped back to the room, which was really great! We also picked out what we thought we were going to buy as presents for everyone back home, and we planned to pick them up on the last day (when we had DTD planned again)

There's not much more to say about DTD that I can think of really, so I'll let the pictures do the talking.

Day 5 - Dinner at Raglan Roads

http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj63/vodisney/food%20report%20pics/663.jpg

Raglan Roads was the meal that Craig himself picked out for us. Being the good ol english boy that he is he just LOVES pubs! So of course he wanted to check out Raglan Roads for some fried greasy yummyness and some ever so important BEER! I'm not a huge pub fan but after seeing the menu I agreed to try!

We started off with some drinks and some soda bread with some oil for dipping. Craig got a Guiness, which he said was very refreshing and quickly ordered some more.

http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj63/vodisney/food%20report%20pics/664.jpg

I got a .. yup you guessed it! Malibu and Orange! Both were very good!

http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj63/vodisney/food%20report%20pics/670.jpg

The bread and oil was pretty good. The oil was yummy but the bread was pretty dry.

http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj63/vodisney/food%20report%20pics/671.jpg

http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj63/vodisney/food%20report%20pics/672.jpg

While eating our bread and sippin on drinks we enjoyed some irish dancing followed by live music for the rest of our meal. They were both very entertaining and provided some nice background happenings.

http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj63/vodisney/food%20report%20pics/668.jpg

http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj63/vodisney/food%20report%20pics/677.jpg

For the main course Craig had the fish and chips.

http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj63/vodisney/food%20report%20pics/678.jpg

He ate every last piece and gave it a 10/10. Coming from someone who pretty much HATES fish (except for fish and chips) This is a very high rating!

I ordered the Sheppards Pie.

http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj63/vodisney/food%20report%20pics/679.jpg

It was just perfect! The mashed potatoes, the meat and the amazing gravy comined to give this dish a 10/10. If you go here, try this! You wont be disappointed.

For dessert Craig got the bread and butter pudding.

http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj63/vodisney/food%20report%20pics/681.jpg

Another 10/10 for this one. I had never tried bread and butter pudding so I didnt want to order one but after trying this I really wished I had ordered it! It was delicious!

I ordered some sort of berry crumble.

http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj63/vodisney/food%20report%20pics/680.jpg

It was ok. I didnt enjoy it that much, especially after tasting the amazing dessert Craig got. 5/10 for this one. I ended up just sharing Craigs dessert instead!

Bottom line is if you are planning a DTD night check this place out. Its a very nice lookin pub, the servers are great and the food is wonderful.

After the pub we wandered DTD some more and we had some more yummy drinks and then we caught a bus and headed back to POP to catch some zzz's.
