What happens if you've booked a DC day and the weather is horrendous? If we go, I can't imagine spending the day if it is raining all day (tropical depression or something). I think they only close for hurricanes?

Won't bad weather put a huge damper on the day??

Its hard to say, a bit of rain could cool off the still oppresive September heat, since you are in the water already, it may not be that big of a deal.

Hi we were there in August, we were in the water with our dolphin when a thunderstorm blew in, they suspended our dolphin experience and we waited in the Cabana until it blew over. Drinks and snacks were brought to us while we waited.

Once the staff had been given the all clear we returned to the water and completed our experience.

In my (limited) experience, the bad weather tends to be pretty fast moving, we were there from August 4th - 25th and had only one afternoon when the weather lasted more than an hour.

It rained almost all day when we went to Discovery Cove and it was still one of the most fun experiences ever!
We were definitely worried as the day we'd planned to go to DC was the only stormy day of our whole trip. But it turned out not to matter...
Shoot, you are already wet!
Here is DD, you can see the rain hitting the water:

This was in December even. It was warm enough with the wet suits on.

So, go! Don't worry about the weather... DC is awesome no matter what!
