My soon-to-be new DH and I will be honeymooning on the Wonder 7/21! We can't wait! We are first time cruisers too! :p

My DW, DD, and sister will be there with our smiles on. We received our cruise docs today. A little last minute shopping and we should be ready to head south. We will be at Radisson Saturday night. Maybe we will run into some of you then.

Should make for a nice size meet! Does anyone have any preference for time and place? Is 3:00pm ok at Promenade on deck 3? Wearing green leis so we can recognize a Dis member? I wish they had special hats we could wear for these meets.
Also, for those of you at the Radisson . I'll be the one by the pool with the large pina colada (with umbrella) wearing that green lei.

I've heard good things about The Grill in Port Canaveral. We're planning on having dinner there the day before and watch the Magic leave port. This is provided we arrive before 5:00pm. It sounds like a fun place, very casual. It is close to the Radisson too.( I know some of you may not be in til late on Saturday :p )
If any of you go for your ressies right away I'll see you on line for the Spa. (I'm sending DH to reserve table for Palo at the same time).

Hi, everyone. We are driving down on the 20th and staying at the Radisson. We hope to arrive around 3:00 pm. Does anyone know what time we can check-in at the Radisson? We are planning on parking our van at port. This seems like it will be most convenient for us.

I'm parking at Port also. It just seems easier that way. Planning on getting there early on the 21st (10:30am). DH is not thrilled at a long wait, but I'm thinking maybe my DS's GameBoy may help ;)
I don't remember what time Radisson check in was. We're leaving on the 19th from Va and plan to arrive at Radisson mid- afternoon on the 20th. It will be so nice to walk around after a long car ride.

I called the Radisson today and was told that check in is anytime after 3 pm. That should be about the time we arrive. We plan on letting to kids swim and then going to dinner. It will be nice not having to rush in the morning. We should be able to have a relaxing breakfast and then head to port. I would like to be at port no later than 11:00.

I feel like I have soooooo much to do this coming week. Just think, this time next Saturday several of us DISers will have already met in person. I think that is going to make it so much fun. :D

If we get there early enough we'll be at the pool too. I have to remember to get my green lei so I can be spotted:) .
I think I have most of what I'll need. I just have to go over my list one more time. I am so excited about meeting everyone! :)

Would you believe IM having the hardest time finding Green leis, I went to 4 party stores and not one has green...oh yea they have every other color except green. Only me...would you believe it lol. IM not giving up I will get a green lei even if it kills me...or...or else...IM not going on the cruise : ( lol

I don't know why when I last posted it never showed in the thread, I responded to he roll call but my post never came up, I have no idea. Laurie I must apologize sorry I haven't been around with work and all they never give me a break I hav more then enough vacation time but they wont let me take a day off...damn Board Of Ed. But I managed to pull a fast one now I have this whol week off :D I took 2 weeks Vac. and still have 20 days left, maybe after this cruise I just might want to do the 7 day Eastern followed by the Western cruise... ;) yea ok IM pushing it I know but I can dream can't I. like I said in my last post IM having the hardest time finding green leis...just my luck...if it weren't for bad luck I'd have no luck at all ;) I will get them some how even if I hae to paint them myself.

You know Jeff I never thought of that but it might be a bit painful for my daughter, I think I may stick to the basic's and keep looking there has to be a place that has green leis. Thanks for the idea though ;) Yea some may already be out there we arrive in Orlando thursday morning around 10:30 or so, we just might hit Animal Kingdom that day since they close at 6.

Frankie, I think as long as you're wearing a lei , the color is not crucial. I know my DD would prefer a pink or purple lei anyway. :D
I haven't bought our leis yet. I was going to get them today. :o

The color green was suggested by someone on another post. As long as we can all get to the meeting spot , we should be ok regardless of lei color.

Hi Laurie, tell your DD IM not wearing a Pink lei, no way no how, I was pushing it with the green one but Pink. Yea they have tons of pink ones, they had tons of yellow,red,blue,orange... one guy had the nerve to show me leis made out of flowers with a touch of green in them :confused: I will try one more place if they don't have it I will get the pink ones...(just kidding) I will get blue ones they come close to green anyway, just look for Frankie from Brooklyn with either green or blue leis, can't miss me...everyone can tell when someone is from Brooklyn, just by my voice. I will be there 3:00 better yet if my daughter at that time is driving me crazy, then look for Frankie from Brooklyn with either the green or blue lei hanging from the side of the ship...I will lokk like part of the ship anyway no one will know ;)

I couldn't find a lei tonight, but I only went to Walmart. Needed cat food so our cats won't starve while we're gone. Hiring some teenagers to cat sit for us. (watch tv and pet our cats- what a job!)
Frankie I didn't mean that the guys had to wear pink leis. Blue will be fine. :) I have a couple of places to try tomorrow.
Oh, doesn't Goofy hang off the side of the ship too? ;)

Oh! I forgot . Won't the Polynesian Resort have leis?:) Last time we were at WDW we had the Character breakfast at the Polynesian. I'm sure they handed out leis.
My brother proposed to his now wife at WDW in front of the Magic Kingdom. He bought 2 sidewalk "slates?" to make the proposal. It was our best vacation. Until now that is ;) .

Laurie thanks for getting me off the hook with the pink leis :) tell your daughter not to be to mad at me but blue looks better on me then pink. I to have one other place to check and if they don't have green then blue it is for me. Well we are done packing all I have to do is pick up a few little things and were good to go, by the way Laurie I bought a box of Bonine just in case anyone might need it so just let me know. It is so hard to find, not as hard as the green lei though ;) IM in the same boat as you Laurie I have to have my in-laws take care of a few of my pets as well, which include a Boxer, an African Grey parrot, and a White-Face Capuchin (monkey) Good luck to my mother-in-law ;) She has her hands full.

Well it sounds like everyone is ready to go, except me. I have decided I need the stress of waiting till the last minute to get ready. (why do I do this to myself). I'm still confused on how dressed up we have to be for the dinners. I'm wearing nice capris for most dinners, but do we have to wear formal attire one night. How formal. Can DH wear dress slacks with dress shirt with button up collar with no tie or with tie? I thought for somereason only the 7 night cruise had formal nights. When you look at the threads regarding formal nights they can get real hostile. He is not looking forward to dressing up since he wears business dress to work all the time, but he will.

We are also leaving mom in charge on 2 dogs and a 1,000 gallon fish pond with about 100 fish. Hope they all survive.

I hope everyone has a safe trip with no problems. Any nice imput regarding dinner dress would be appreciated.

Hi Anna Mae, I will be wearing to Triton's a pair of slacks and a button down shirt with black shiny shoes :D I think. Ibelieve this is the only restaurant you really have to dress up other then Palo's, as forthe other restaurant's I will be wearing a pair of Gap pants (beige pleated) with a collared shirt with a few button's...you know which one's IM talking about. I bought a few different colors and a few different pairs of pants like 2 or 3 thats all. Try the gap, nice collared shirts that only button down from the top and only a few buttons...like 3 or 4 or so. Hope this helps, Iwas in the same boat as you since In my line of work I never dress up so I have no clue when it comes to GQ stuff :smooth: You can also call DCL and ask them they can tell you exactly what to wear.

Hi Everyone!
I found leis at a party store. I bought green for myself, but pink and blue for family.( 39 cents each)
Annamae- There isn't a formal night on the Wonder, but Frankie is right, Tritons and Palo are dressy. At least button down shirts for the guys and dress or nice pantsuit for gals. DCL requests jackets, but not ties. DH is bringing one jacket that will probably spend more time on the back of the chair than on him. ;)
The other two restaurants are casual, but still no jeans or shorts. Dockers, Gap pants would be fine here as would your capris.
You're right , I was surprised how annoyed people got over the dress issue. My TA had told us the first night was casual, regardless of which restaurant you were in. This is because some people may not have their luggage by dinner time. But, I have read many a complaint on these boards about not dressing properly for dinner the first night. Because of this I won't be wearing shorts for dinner the first night, but I'm not wearing anything really dressy either. :rolleyes:
Frankie, bring a picture of your pets if you have one. I've never seen a capuchin before! :)

Hi everyone, well it's one more day for us we leave Thursday 7/18. Off to Orlando Intl. Laurie, I found a place that has green leis, Im going to pick them up this afternoon. I can't believe with all the things to pack the one thing that drove me nutz was a green lei...the very last thing I pack :D I decided IM not wearing a dinner jacket at Triton's only because the simple reason...I couldn't find one, if worst comes to worst I will rent one there...if tehy have one to match ;) But I also heard the jacket wasn't neccessary. Anyway IM getting ready to go get a few more things, I heard that phone cards as gifts for the crew are a good Idea, just a way of saying thanks, and a few New York Yankee tee's for those special crew members. I like to give gifts and thank you's, something very rare here in Brooklyn :D

Thanks for the input. I don't think my dh would agree to a jacket, but he will wear dress attire. Frankie, how nice to give gifts, I guess you have to after you take the boat over :p . Laurie, I figured out from those dress boards not to wear shorts to dinner or someone may beat you up (just kidding), so I would never do that, but they sure are intense. Today is my shopping day to get last minute stuff, wish me good luck, like I said I decided to stress myself out and wait last minute. But once we are on the plane, the magic will begin. Well this will be my last post till I get back so, To all of you who will be On the Wonder July 21st, please have a safe trip to Florida and as well as to the Wonder.
