SamSam...you going to WDW? I need a Disney fix, but no time available until January, I'm afraid.
How's everyone's week going?
Anyone with fun plans for the Labor Day weekend?
I'll be travelling home from work, but hope to have a strong week of training ahead. Had a good run two nights ago. Trying to take it easy on my shoulder that I think I re-injured. Will bike and run tonight and run on Saturday.
Anyone heard from Kira, Liz, Cohoe, Blizzard? I am missing them!!
Or Brian for that matter...he used to post alot. Let's get our page active!:cool1:
Happy Thursday, y'all!

What do you do that you seem to be always traveling? Where do you travel too? I used to travel quite a bit but have not in a good while. I sort of miss it, and I was lucky to bring my bike with me almost every trip.

Betsy Liz has taken a step back as far as posting due to a lot of stress right now with her job. She knows that she has one but has know idea what it will be consisting of as of yet. I have told her to send me her totals and I would get them to you. As soon as that happens, I will let you know. I also know Kira is over on Facebook a lot. I will see if I can get a hold of her over there and see if she is coming back. And me, I am here. I am not leaving. I need to leave as it is time for me to go to work. Don't need to be late. haha! But I will let you know what we need to do with those as soon as possible. Maybe the others we can send a PM to and see what's up.
Thanks for all of your efforts!

Hello Ducks, hope everyone had a good weekend! The long weekend is over, it's back to work tomorrow. Here are my miles for the week, Sept 1-7. I have 12 hours, and 197 miles. Some of the miles are from a race I did yesteday, it was a duathlon in Central Park, run 2 miles, bike two laps for 12, and run another 2. It was well organized, with 5 split times, and it showed that I did miserably in one of the transitions, I have to learn to tie my shoes! Or get bike shoes with velcro. This was the first time I used speedlaces on my running shoes, and they worked great, but the first transition took over a minute longer. The lost minute would not have placed me, I got fourth in my age group, and the third-placer had almost a two minute better time. I did finish 79th overall, but my biking time was 26th, so I am happy with that.
Have a good week, and keep running! January is not that far away.

Hey Triple D's! I still can't believe we're almost in Fall! Wow, where does the time go (showing my age here, time does move faster every year).
Not a great week for workouts as I had to be 'out of town' for a couple of days with no time for working out.
My totals for week ending 9-7-09:
295 minutes 16 miles

Hello Duckies - I am reporting in my miles for Sept 1-7 - 12 miles and 177 minutes.
This week starts my official Goofy training although I have been easing into back to back runs on the weekend. Just did my first back to back of decent miles. I was lazy on Saturday and didn't do my run but that only meant I had to do it Sunday and Monday. I was scheduled for 3.5 miles but ended up doing 4 miles and then the next day scheduled for 7 but only managed 6. I could really feel the legs yelling at me but I am hoping with training that will go away before January. I am also dealing with an arch problem - most likely PF so I am trying not to aggrevate that too much. Not sure why it is bothering me now and didn't bother me one bit last year. Oh well I got to get going to work. TTYL

I finally a full week at the gym AND running!! Happy dance! :)
Sept 1-7th:
Miles: 31
Minutes: 497
I ran my first 10 miles yesterday and was very happy with it. My quads got REALLY tight the last mile or so. Felt pretty good afterwards but I'm thinking playing a Par 3 with my dad right after didn't really help. By the end of the night my knees and feet were pretty sore so I iced before I went to bed.

Hi, Liz...thanks for checking in! Also, I know you had emailed some training totals to Brian at one point, feel free to keep doing that or pm them to me if you don't have time to post! We'll keep ya covered.
Good job everyone! Samsam, you are cracking me up about summer. I totally agree that time is flying by and I can't believe it is September, but we have had way more than our share of summer here in TX this year for sure!
I'll be working on the spreadsheet probably tonight. Been a crazy last couple of weeks, as I re-injured my shoulder. yes, the one I had surgery on last fall. I have been worried for over 10 days that I re-tore my rotator cuff, but it doesn't look too bad on the MRI I got yesterday, though there is a fair amount of fluid in the joint, so it's mad about something! Will see my ortho tomorrow and hopefully still be ok to go ahead at least with my running, biking, and swimming (though I anticipate a little less swimming for a while).
You guys all rock! Keep those posts coming, and keep MOVING!!!

Hello my duckies. Just thought I'd waddle in, with my feathered tail between my legs to say hi. Life, the uiniverse, and everything has taken over, but I've been doing what I can to get some steps in here and there, and thinkign of you all.
Now that school has started and the boys and I are all back on a more regular schedule, I am hoping things will settle down and I'll get my miles back up. I pretty much have to, seeing as how i am already behind in my goofy training. Of course, i am starting off with a beastly cold this week, pushing me even farther behind.
anyhow, hope all of you have been having a good summer! Hope to see you around a little more often...

I was LOST myself :) Hey Duck I'm back to a computer. I lost my work one when I got laid off end of July. Then my home one broke in Mid August, But now I have a nice new fast one :yay: LOVING IT !!! I have not reported anything since August 7th. But I was out running some, so here is the deal.
August
7- 14th 39.4 Miles ( had a 12.2 mile race & I did well) 225 min
15- 21 9 miles 7 hours - Hiked up Mt Lincoln in NH
22-31 45.75 miles 430 min - I did a 20 miler :)
Sept
1-7 27.6 miles 248 min
That gets me up to date. I am still lookong at running a fall marathon so I will be pushing up the miles. I am thinking about the one in Indy on Nov 7th any other Ducks do that one ??
I had a ton of posts to read and it looks like the team is doing GREAT. Not to many problems and some people look like they are having FUN. Have a great week.

SamSam...thanks for the good thoughts on the shoulder. :goodvibes I am happy to report that I did not re-tear my rotator cuff. There is some inflammation, so I am to take Advil, do some PT (exercises I learned after my surgery last year), and I don't need more surgery. yay!!!
But...I didn't get much done last week. Maybe more running would have eased my worries.
Catching up for Sept. 1-7:
running 11.3 miles/ 2:05
PT/core :25
Total 11.3/2:30
Week of Sept 8-14 won't be much better, but I am going to try to run after my travel all day tomorrow to add more miles. Plus, see my sig line. That marathon is going to come up quickly! In my head, I "justified" not running because a) it hurt my arm with the jostling, and b) I thought I was going to have to cancel the Goofy weekend. But all is good now!
Big Vic...nice to see you building right back up on schedule!
Hey Mickey....your space is still there on the spreadsheet, and I can plug in totals at any time! Welcome back!
Augie...I do contract work in the medical field, filling in for people's vacations or if a group is short-handed. I don't work where I live at all...so am on the road about 24-30 weeks a year (not counting fun vacations). It's a challenge, considering my "athletic" aspirations. But it does make life interesting! Off to Alaska in the morning. :cool2:
Spreadsheet is updated for now....will get the Sept. 8-14 totals in quicker, I promise!

Good Morning Ducks! Hard to fathom that we are at the half way point of September already.
We had a lot of rainy days last week, so I missed a few work commutes. But did do a 50 mile club ride on Sunday. So I have 100 miles and 6 hours for the period of the 8th through the 14th.
Liz, good to hear from you. How are your NY guests? And hello to fellow LI'er Erica! Are you planning on the Railroad Earth concert in the city next month? Betsy, sounds like an interesting job. Traveling can take its toll.....

Thank you, thank you for the very warm welcome. Glad to be here.
I will be walking the 5K and 1/2. I have walked my dog for years, but just decided to do this in March, so I have actually been training since then. I try to walk three evenings a week 4-5 miles each evening with longer walks on Saturday mornings. I am up to 7.5 miles on Saturdays. I am averaging 14-15 minute miles. I have just begun to add strength training also and that is going slow, but figure will get easier as I get used to it.

Hi, Duckies!!
:goodvibes
Lisa...welcome!! Since you are new, what we do here, besides try to encourage each other, is track our miles of movement, and hours/minutes of exercise. We report on the 7th, 14th, 21st, and last day of the month (so the last "week" is usually more like 10 days). If you have any totals from your past training (if you have kept a log), feel free and let me know, otherwise, we'll start right now!
Any exercise---walking, running, biking, cross-training, weights, yoga, etc...counts as your activity hours/minutes (however you want to list that is fine...). And then count your miles for the things such as walking/running/biking/swimming.
If you do a race, the miles count double! So if you did a 5K race...instead of adding in 3.1 miles, you get credit for 6.2.
That's it in a nutshell....sort of brief, so if you have any questions, any of us would be happy to help.
Oh, and the spreadsheet everyone's miles/hours is on is located here:
http://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key=0AhkQlDatUiUqcHk4X1UxVHMxZnFBb2xUM3F4elFmS 0E&hl=en
I try to updated the spreadsheet every week, but I travel a lot and get behind. :rolleyes1
Now....
everyone needs to get to posting, as there are lots of holes in the spreadsheet! And I'll admit..I am one of them. and am off to vacation tomorrow, so I don't even have my totals together for the last week. Though there will be some double miles, since I did another tri last weekend (and totally sucked on the bike, which is so not like me!). Oh, well, it was fun, and now it's really time for Goofy training.
Kira is getting over an injury...everyone send good vibes her way!
Will get everything caught up on Sat night or Sunday!

Ah, the end of September. And into the busy month of October!
Hope everyone had a good month. SamSam, how dids EEC go? I have read some sad stories about it. I know Disney cannot control the weather, but some of the other things that happened, volunteers not being there, baggage left unprotected, bad communication, all seem to be very un-Disney..... Is it correct as to what I have heard, that Disney is not involved in the planning and orginazation of these events, it is an outside company? I have heard only positives about the marathon weekend, is the same company involved in that? Hope ToT turns out better!
Anyway, here to report mileage, the last 9 days of the month I had 245 miles biking and 14 hours, 45 minutes for the time. Although not a race i participated in a ride called Tour of the Hamptons, of which I did the 65 mile route.
Hope everyone has a good month and good October. If all goes as planned I will be doing a race every weekend, three duathlons and the ToT.
Keep moving!
Augie

It's deceptively high. I commute by bike a few days a week. It's all lumped together. I've been running 12-13 miles a week for a few months. Hope it's enough to start.

Hi team. Dh and I were in the EEC and being in the 10th wave (and walking) we were right in the middle of the deluge. :) We did have fun, but it was raining so hard at times that it was hard to see. The party was over by the time we finished and it was still raining plus we were drenched, so we were more than happy to head back to AKV and take a hot shower and just relax.
Here's my mileage/hours for the last week of Sept.
210 minutes 13 miles
We are fully into enjoying the Wine and Food Fest, so although I willl work out a little, my numbers will definitely be low the next couple of weeks. :)

Hello from a long-lost Duck!
Hopefully I am not too late for a September report. I finally got everything in one place and totaled it up, so you are getting all my miles and hours for September at once.
Here you go:
Minutes - 670 (11 hours 10 minutes)
Miles - 30
My totals include running, walking, biking, and my new favorite cross-training work, Pilates. I am pretty proud of myself about what I was able to accomplish coming off an injury, and I am now easing into my Marathon training, and keeping up with it well. In fact, I am about to go downstairs to the fitness center (I'm in Anaheim at a conference) to log my first miles of October.
I have heard from a couple of you that you have missed me here, and I am sorry I have been so scarce. I know that October will be much better, and I look forward to hanging out with all of you on the new thread!

bumping this up!
Is there an October thread? I can't seem to find it! I'll repost my September hours there if that will help get them counted!

I am setting up the October thread now. Sorry for the delay. Haven't had a computer for the last several days. Will try to do better.
Hope everyone is doing well.
