Here we go! Here is the new paper layout challenge..

Everyone is welcome! This challenge is to get the traditional swappers to think outside their boxes and try new things and get those photos on pages!!!

I thought this map (from page maps archives) was cool...
Anything goes.. the only thing I ask is that you use the circle for the title and the journaling....
You may use the 3.25 x 4 (3) photos or use to 3 x 5 photos.. mix it up..

http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t24/PrincessNancy96/pagemap27-1.jpg

I hope to have my entry (even though it is not eligible to be chosen as the winner) submitted by the end of the week...

Winner will be selected by random drawing from submissions by one of my kiddos on 9/20. Winner is responsible for hosting next challenge!

Alright, let the creating begin!!! Everyone have fun!!!

Everyone is welcome... :) :welcome:

Rotate and adjust the sketch anyway you can... I just want to challenge you to utilize the circle w/ the title and journaling in it... The reason I choose that to be a definite as it is so far out of my element!!!! I'm determined to do it.. I have 2 sets of photos I'm going to do with this... I need to get the smaller photos printed Friday...

Congrats! I'll try to participate - though in looking at the template, my last layout almost qualifies - except for the circle requirement.

I hope to get this and a few other pages knocked out over this long weekend. I ordered pictures yesterday, but instead of picking them up I spent the evening lounging on the couch and guzzling allergy meds! Grrr! :crazy2:

Ok, so I actually got this challenge done and done early! Here is my LO. It's 2 pages. The first page I followed the sketch, but for the secon I had too many pictures. At first I thought I would do the second page the same way, only as a mirror image.

LOL! I have a few stories to tell about the latter...
Sight seeing was fun! The stories and rumors were even better..
Steve Alford actually grew up an hour north of my hometown and we played bball against them in HS... It was funny because I watched him play for IU.. than my son went to a BB camp that Steve had..and he told DS13 (11 at the time).. I know your mom! LOL (familiar face I guess!)

OK I would love to do this challenge, but don't know if I will have the time. Mainly I just wanted to say HI to all my hoosier sisters!!! I grew up in Huntington and was just home in August. And we did stop by God's country (South Bend) while we were there. My sister lives in Mitchell and we are having a girls weekend at her place in October. Anyone know of some good scrap shops in Mitchell/Bloomington/French Lick area?

OK sorry to go wayyyyyy off topic!!!!!!! Now I am obligated to complete this challenge! :rotfl:

Thank you for posting the link to the How to Upload a Photo video - but, unfortunately, I can't seem to get it to play for me! :(

I am not sure what I am doing wrong! I clicked on the link you posted and got three big white empty boxes with only the title of each video listed.
Near the top of the page there is a note that says you can download the videos here - so, I clicked on that link - it brought me to another page that looks like you have to sign up to view stuff..?.. I clicked on that link and saw something about being a partner, etc...so I just closed it.

It doesn't help that we have dial up - everything is super slow - but we live in the middle of the country and there are no towers close to us yet to allow us to get high speed!

Any help would be appreciated!

Rhonda, you need to post the picture to a photosharing site, like Photobucket, FlickR, etc. Then you will copy and paste the image code (which will look something like this,

but without the space.

The Mini Monograms cart has some scalloped shapes on it, and you can turn off some of the stuff in CDS so it won't cut the holes in the scallops. Do you have that cart?

I won?! Holy cow, I can't believe I won! It was just a pleasure to be nominated! I'd like to thank the Academy and, of course, all my fellow nominees!

Nan, I just need to post a challenge, nothing special? I can use another page map, right? Hope you're feeling better.

Yes, that is all you need to do.. set a deadline, a sketch or challenge us to use a specific color, number of items (embellishment or photo)...

Feeling better? Getting there.. I've had better days..but thank you for checking. I think some of it is the stress from the fact the kids' sports are in full swing w/ big events, homecoming activities, homecoming banner help for DD. It will get better... I'm only one person..and I probably over did it.

The Mini Monograms cart has some scalloped shapes on it, and you can turn off some of the stuff in CDS so it won't cut the holes in the scallops. Do you have that cart?

I don't have Mini Monograms, but it has just been added to the top of my cart wish list! :woohoo:

If you have the Storybook cartridge, the shadow of the doily flower on I is a scalloped circle.

Congrats on the win Jennifer!!! All the pages posted look great. One of these days I'll get back to doing these challenges.

could we maybe do a challenge for everyone, paper, digital, etc. I would love to do a challenge that didn't have to be disney related and it would be fun to have everyone on one thread. :) just a thought and y'all can take it or leave it. just thought it would be fun.

I know the title of this thread says paper challenge, but I thought it was open to digital layouts too. I'm sure I remember seeing a few entries in previous ones that were digital.

cool, I just didn't want to stir up any more drama... it's a new week, perhaps it could be drama free over here. :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Several months ago we had a string of challenges that was specifically for digital and paper scrappers both. I am not sure what happened to it. :confused3 It was a lot of fun, I am a traditional scrapper, so it was neat for me to see how digital works.

Start a new one up! :thumbsup2

I'd rather not step on toes and since I didn't participate in this challenge, I would defer it to the winner. :) all the layouts were awesome and I enjoyed looking at them. Maybe in october we could start a joint one? (unless the winner of this one wants to do both of course. :) ) still going for a drama less week. :rotfl2:

I don't think it says anywhere in the rules that it has to be Disney. I don't have a problem with digital scrappers playing! I love to see how you guys do stuff, I'm tossing the idea of digital around, so I'm all for everyone playing!

Would a template work for digi scrappers, or should I make it a color challenge...Oh, I love monochromatic, maybe that. Gonna go scour the internet (my boss isn't here yet :) ).

There is no rules that says the challenge can't be for both...
MM ~ I suggest the title be a Layout Challenge. Noting that all scrappers are welcome, traditional, hybrid, digital, no one will be turned away. We are asking that no prizes be given away.

I like it when the challenges have a variety of different topics and different styles. I thought it was nice when we had digital layouts as well as paper and I very much appreciate that there are no limits on topics.

Oh, and I'm not trying to start any trouble here - just expressing my opinion.

don't worry, "trouble" is my middle name. :) although, I am having a drama free week this week... (where is the tag fairy when you need her eh?) :) I'm looking forward to a basic challenge where anyone can play. :)

I should be able to start the new layout challenge thread today! My sample won't be done until at least tomorrow, but I did find a great layout template to use.

Can't wait to see all the entries!

It's a small world. Hubby is from E'ville, and we were there, a couple weeks ago. Have you found the scrapbook shop on Stringtown Road, south of uh - Diamond Av?

No drama here! I left it back at work. Retirement is GREAT!

I haven't been there Linda, we have a local little store in Princeton called Paper Chase, plus I just get most of my stuff at michael's and joann sales :)
