We will be in Orlando in two weeks along with my newly married son and his wife. We are looking for a special place to take them to dinner but it's a hard decision for me to make. We are looking for something that's not too fancy (casual dress) but a nicer restaurant (no red lobster or chain restaurants). Preferable a steak/seafood restaurant. I have been checking out the Gaylord Palms restaurants and they seems wonderful (pricey but $$ isn't an issue, like I said it's a special dinner ) but not sure what their dress code is. I'd love to hear suggestions. Thanks.

Hi! Listed below are three restaurants that seem to be top dogs in Orlando (according to my AAA Florida guidebook). I hope this helps! (They may require more than dressy/casual attire, though, so call for information.)
Atlantis - Renaissance Orlando Resort Sea World - 407-351-5555
Dux - Peabody Orlando - 407-345-4540
Arthur's 27 - Wyndham Palace Resort - 407-827-3450
Have fun! I hope you find a great place!

Arthur's 21 is our favourite restaurant. It is pricey but if $$'s aren't an issue go here. It is situated at the top of the Wyndham and has one of the best views of any restaurant anywhere !
The Old Hickory Steakhouse at Gaylord is also excellent but the ambience is more of a resort feel.
Another suggestion maybe Ruth's Chris in the Dr. Phillip's area where you can find several excellent fine dining restaurants including Chatham's, Morton's and for the best service around Christini's. All can be pricey though !
Dress code at all restaurants is smart casual but Arthur's do like men to wear a jacket. It's not compulsory though and I've seen people walk in in open neck shirts .

I definitely rate Atlantis at the Renaissance Orlando Resort, while the California Grill at Disney's Contemporay Resort is another standout venue. Morton's does the best steaks I have had in Central Florida, while Everglades, in the huge Rosen Center resort, is another fine choice for seafood and steak. All in all, if price is really no object, you can't go far wrong with any of the restaurants mentioned here!

Oh, almost forgot :D
La Boheme at the Grand Bohemian downtown is simply superb, while the Plantation Restaurant at the Celebration Hotel is also a bit special.

If I was going out to a nice restaurant and $$ wasn't an issue(It always is for us).
I would go to Emeril's in Citywalk at Universal.
Supposed to be really great! I would go if I could afford it!!
