We are renting a car and I feel more comfortable bringing my own carseat. Problem is is that I will have to bring it onto the ship. Is there a closet in your stateroom that you can put it in or will the ship store it for you. We are in category 7.
thanks!

You might want to ask the rental company if it will store it for you. Or if you are staying a night at a hotel, they might?

thanks. I'll be doing both so I'll check with them!

Let me also add that the carseats that the rental car companies provide are really good. I carried mine on most trips (thankfully we are past that stage as DD is now 8) but on the one or 2 when I did not, I was perfectly happy. In fact, one one trip we got an upgraded car with the integrated car seat (it was a very nice Volvo, and let me tell you, was quite an upgrade from the '92 Taurus wagon we had at home!!). That was pretty cool! :D The problem is that if you're like me, you want your child in the carseat on the plane and in that case, you are stuck lugging the thing around.
Good luck to you!

I brought my carseat along last January. It did not fit in the closet, I just set it on the sofa in the cabin (my daughter thought it was fun to watch Tv in). It never occured to me to ask for it to be stored, but it really was no problem. We were really only in the cabin for sleeping and showering anyway.

Will you be parking the car at the port to use when you return? If so, you could just leave it in the car. If not, it probably won't take up a lot of room in your cabin.

In our Cat 9 cabin, across from the sofa there was a combo desk/makeup mirror area that had an ottoman looking chair that tucked underneath. I always take out the chair and stick things we won't need in that area:collapsable bags, case of pop, beach bag with beach toys, etc. I think your car seat could fit under there.
