Requesting a table alone

I know that I have read somewhere on this board about requesting a dinner table alone but I can't seem to find it. We are not anti-social but just thought it would be nice to wind down the day with just our family. If you are able to request a table for dinner alone, do I contact DCL and when should I do it?

Have it noted on your reservation, although there are no guarantees. If you booked directly with DCL, call them. Otherwise, call your travel agent.

I called DCL in advance to request a table for 3....then once we boarded I went down to where they were doing the dining changes and checked there if we had gotten our request just to be sure, I didn't want any surprises when we went to the first dinner!
