Boy do I wish I had been able to see that! Anyone know why it was discontinued?

Thanks for posting this! This was my favorite parade -- it was worth waiting to see. We loved it!! I wish they'd bring it back.

It was extremely rough on CM's. The puppets caused several back injuries, and they were downright dangerous when the wind came up unexpectedly.

ToN was an excellent parade though.

I LOVED that parade! They actually took it out gradually, by not doing in as many areas or with as many puppets before they discontinued it. It really backed things up on the walkway around the lagoon, because it was done starting in different places around the lagoon at the same time. I remember just having to sit down because you couldn't really get around very easily while it was going, but never really minded that, myself!

I still say we all need to team up and march arouns the WS with this on a boom box. Maybe we can get it back (with more back friendly gizmos).

I loved that parade! I can't remember exactly when it was discontinued but it was somewhere between my Dec. trips of 2002 and 2004.

eta: I also liked this parade even better when it was dark for some reason. It gave it even more feeling to me.

We LOVED this parade, too - in all it's versions as they phased it out! I can see how it would have been tough on the CMs - but they were soooo awesome in it!

Pity, although I *guess* I understand the reasons behind it. Last time I was at AK the CMs were operating large puppets as well, so maybe I don't entirely understand it. I mean, EPCOT is the largest park at the entire resort (largest accessable area, I know AK is technically bigger so don't go there :) ) and it would make sense to have a parade again, especially one that celebrates so many cultures coming together as well as ToN seemed to do. Such a shame really.
