Has anyone done the birthday celebration at the Lucky Nugget?

I think you probably mean the Birthday Party Tea, if so no we haven't, we did have DS's Birthday Cake there in March at the Character Lunch and I was a little disappointed in the whole meal/character experience and way the cake was brought out and prior to that LN was at the top of our favourite restaurants list, if we celebrate another birthday at DLP I'd be more inclined to go back to Cafe Mickey where we had a fabulous Birthday experience.

Quite a lot of people have been disappointed with the tea party since it moved to the Lucky Nugget which is a shame as it used to be really good at the Plaza Gardens.

Cafe Mickey can be booked about 2 months in advance I think but it will just be a normal meal. If you want a birthday cake you order this seperatly on the main Disney booking line and pay for it in advance or you can just order one when you arrive and pay for it there

I'm another who'd recommend having your birthday celebration at Cafe Mickey, I did that with my DD in May, it was fabulous. You can add the cost of the birthday cake to your Disney booking before you go, which makes the cost of the cake a bit cheaper than paying when you get to DLRP. We had dinner at Cafe Mickey from their normal menu, then had the birthday cake brought out for dessert. Its a real celebration too, the characters come out with the cake to your table and dance and clap around to the birthday song. My DD absolutely loved it Mickey himself came out with her cake, and I'm so glad we chose Cafe Mickey for her birthday meal . We were in there from around 7.30pm to 9.30pm, had a dozen characters come around in that time to our table for photos and autographs, and Eeyore wrote her a special birthday message in her autograph book too :goodvibes.

Out of 3 birthdays my DS has celebrated at DLP, 5th at Plaza Gardens Tea Party and 10th at Lucky Nugget, his 7th at Cafe Mickey one stands out as being the best one. :goodvibes

If you want to pay in advance for the birthday cake, you need to add it to your existing Disney hotel booking. The number to call to do this is 08448 008111.
