Might be going Thanksgiving. Would you pick AKL or YC/BC? Only $300 total differance. Party will be myself, DH & 3 yr DD. Never been to Disney.

I like the AKL, but IMO it kinda got wore out looking at the animals all the time...seemed we didnt want to do anything else. My suggestion would be to either stay like maybe 2 nigths at the AKL (I dont know how long you are staying though to make this fesible) ~OR~ WHat I would do is go with the beach club and then make arangements to go to DInner at the AKL :) Have a great time!!!

I'd choose YC or BC. Location is so important when you go to WDW with small children. I have a 3 year old and a 1 year old and we've thought about staying at AKL but always decide against it because of the location.

I too have always wanted to stay at the AKL, but the location and beach theme of the BC wins out IMO. For your first trip ,there is so much to see and the BC is close to 2 parks, Epcot and MGM. You can walk or take a boat to both. The walk to Epcot is about 3 minutes. You will also have the Boardwalk a 3 minute walk away with shopping dining and entertainment. Do, however, take some time to visit the AKL even if you choose not to stay there. It is beatiful!:D

Thank you everyone for your thoughts. We were going to stay at WL Labor Day - but had to change date at last minute (WL is not available Thanksgiving). I really wanted to stay at YC/BC from the beginning, but AKL was $300 cheaper. Told DH I would change the date (along with all the planning I have done), but it was going to cost him!! So I think I will splurg & go with YC/BC (don't care which one between the two). Thanks again.

I would stay at YC/BC. The location is great and there is so much to do there. You can take the boat to the Boardwalk, Epcot and the Studios. There are also walkways to Epcot and MGM. Also, the pools at the Yacht and Beach Clubs are fantastic.
