We are going to surprise my daughter with a cruise for her 11th birthday. What kind of special things can I do for her during the trip? I thought of sending her a gift basket for our arrival. Can I decorate our room after we board? Does DCL do anything special for birthdays? Are there birthday pins available?

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks,

tammy

During your dinner, the waiters will sing "Happy Birthday" and your daughter will receive a birthday cake. Not sure about the birthday pins; however.

The head server will be the one arranging the celebration. Your server and assistant server will also participate along with several other available servers.

I've heard that pins are given to guests at dinner, along with the birthday cake.

I spoke to a DCL rep about this the other day, and she told me that beginning with the fall cruises, you will be able to have your room decorated. She told me that the brochures have not even been printed yet, but if you call, they'll be able to help you. I believe she said the fee was $35.

What kind of decorations will be available? We celebrated my oldest son's B'day on our Dec. '01 cruise and we'll celebrate our youngest son's B'day on our Sept. cruise. I'd love to have the room decorated for him!

This is great news. My daughter thinks we are going on the cruise in January and only the 4 night. She is going to be so excited when she finds out the we are taking the 7-night eastern for her birthday.

We have been to Dinsey World for my other 2 daughters birthday, but never for this daughter because her birthday is during spring break time and it is way too expensive.

I would love to have our cabin decorated. Does anyone else have any other tips on special things I can do for her during our trip?

Thanks,

Tammy

The woman told me that there would be themed "packages" available - she specifically mentioned birthday bc DH will turn 45 on the last day of our cruise. I think (don't hold me to this!), she also mentioned wedding and anniversary bc on top of DH's b-day, we're celebrating our 10th anniversary this year (as well as my 40th). Give them a call and I am sure they will help you.
