So any experience with crabbing while visiting?

The website says there is pin trading. But I'm not seeing anything specific. That is something my children look forward to when we visit 'The World'. Any info would be appreciated.

Crabbing - my DS 12, DN 12, and DN 10 passion our last trip. The resort will sell a net for $5. That is about all I know. LOL I will ask DS tomorow and have him write a report.

Just left HHI yesterday. There was one pin trading session scheduled in teh daily events calendar (one session, during the entire week -- so while there is organized pin trading, it's not frequent).

We did crabbing. For $5 + $2 in bait, it's a fun experience. We caught a few crab (then threw them back).

Ask at the Mercantile and they will bring the pin lanyards out of a drawer for you. Sometimes they wear them at the front desk. If they are not wearing them, ask to see them. They usually have both kinds of lanyards - for kids only and the regular one. In the past we've gotten great trades at HH, but now that my daughter is 17, she's not as enthralled by pins anymore. I was never really a collector or trader, but somehow we've ended up with a couple hundred of these things.

If you want to crab I would buy the crab trap at Walmart and not at Disney. They are the same price and much better.

By the way the crabbing is fun.

We've gone 3 times in November, and never seen anyone crabbing then. As far as the pin trading, front desk CMs often wear lanyards for trading and like a PP said, if they're not being worn in the mercantile, just ask and the CMs will be happy to get all the lanyards for you to see. I've found HHI to be a great place to pick up the CM lanyard exclusive pins. Hardly anyone trades, so there's always a great selection. And if you go to the front desk asking to trade pins, they'll show you all the lanyards available. If you're looking for a particular Cast Lanyard pin, they'll probably look for that for you.

They also have a trivia contest at the Mercantile where they occationally give away pins as prizes.

There is good salt water fishing in this area also.
