I am sad to see the magazine go away. It was a nice magazine to sit back and read at my leisure. Web news is not as fun :(

Just another cut. :sad2:

This issue we will hang on to.

Debbie

*Update in post 9* Looks like I interpreted what was written on the back cover incorrectly! Sorry!!

Look on the back cover of the the latest issue. In the small yellow print. May have been an after thought :(

 Crud we got our very first issue today! DH and I laughed as we tried to figure out the picture puzzle. I read it cover to cover.....

It just says "this concludes this edition of Disney Files Magazine......, and more between magazines....we look forward to delivering another edition of Files soon". That means it is going away completely??:sad1:

It says, "This concludes THIS edition of Disney Files Magazine. It's sad. The kind of sad you felt the first time you saw Old Yeller. But dry tears. You can still get the latest news and tips, learn about special offers and events, and more BETWEEN magazines. Simply visit www.dvcmember.com/email to register for email communications. You'll even get a fun, animated email signature when you sign up. We hope you enjoy being an email insider, and we look forward to delivering ANOTHER edition of the Files soon!"

I guess I interpreted it wrong! A friend of mine also read it thinking it was the last issue....

Interesting wording I would say.

Sorry if I upset anyone!! :worship::hug:

Thank goodness it's not going away. The editor is a fabulous writer -- I love his sense of humor.

I thought it was going away too! I re-read that statement a few times before I concluded it was just strange wording.

Sorry for the newbie question, but is this a DVC magazine that I get with my membership, or something I have to order? I just bought a resale recently and have yet to receive this magazine.

It comes with your membership. I don't know how long it takes to get on the mailing list, but I seem to remember an issue being included with my box of DVC papers.

You can also find current and old issues on the member website. It's under the News section, at the bottom of the page. I don't know if you have access to the member website yet.

Well your post had me scrambling to look for my magazine and read what it says, but no way do I interpret that as being a "last issue". It clearly says it isn't.

Bring back Vacation Magic!!! ;)

I don't care much for this editor. I think since this edition was supposed to be looking back in time at the older attractions that are becoming new again (what they have to do with DVC I don't know, other than BLT is at CR). So he was bringing this edition to an end. The next edition will be about the present and the future (hopefully of DVC and not the rest of Disney).

Maybe the OP could return and edit the title of the post, now that we've determined it's not happening?

Well DW came to the same opinion as OP and thought this was the last edition. But when I read it, I read it as just this issue. Whoever wrote that paragraph needs to go back to writing school or something. As much as I miss Vacation Magic, Disney Files is better than nothing.

Whew, I always enjoyed reading my friend's before we joined DVC. :woohoo:

Since it is probably an added cost your our yearly dues I could do away with it. I give it a look over when it comes in but that's it. I wonder what the budget is for this magazine?

If this were a subscription magazine, I wouldn't buy it.

I thought the same thing when I first read it quickly but then I re-read it to make sure I was reading it wrong. Am glad I did read it wrong!:thumbsup2

This thread had me scared for a minute. We just recieved our issue yesterday. And we were going to try and enter the photo contest in the back of the magazine.

Anyone else just a bit miffed about a Political Action Committee contribution form with the Disney Files? Article was a blatant way for Mr Lewis to solicit funds for it. Ugh! Just not my taste for a member's magazine - seems tacky.

Yeah, me and a few others. I started a thread on Mousecellaneous about it.

I loved the photo on the back of the CR under construction. I have a good friend who is 82 years old and worked for US Steel, one of the contractors for the CR. He was one of the supervisors of the construction and every time we get back from WDW I have to joke with him about his building still being there. I want to take that picture and show it to him. I'm sure he was there when it was taken.

Yeah I didn't get what all that was about.. when I saw it had to do with some type of politics, I threw it out.
