Are the formal nights on the Eastern still Sunday and Thursday?( I believe that is when they were when we went two years ago) I just read a post that mentioned Monday and Thursday for formal nights, maybe that is for the Western.
Also, is it possible to request a specific dinner rotation? Has anyone ever done this?
We are going August 24th and I can't wait!
Thanks,
Caren

Yes. We were on the Eastern Magic about 3 weeks ago and formal night was Sunday (which we ended up at Lumieres and I loved). Semi-formal night was Thursday, but we treated it like formal night. It's not every day my DH gets to wear a tux.

I called DCL and requested to have the APL dining rotation on our upcoming 8/3 Western cruise. I requested this one because I like being in Lumiere's on the formal/semi formal nights and in Parrot Cay on the Mexicali night. DCL told me they cannot guarantee it, but will try to accmodate us.

Thanks for the help. We also had Lumiere's for Formal night and that is what we want again. It just makes formal night that much more elegant. We are using DU so I think I will e-mail and see if I can request a rotation with Lumiere's as the second night.
Just curious if the Western formal nights are different, if anyone knows? Thanks again

Yes, the western formal nights are Monday and Thursday (APL rotation for Lumiere's on those nights). The Eastern formal nights are Sunday and Thursday (PLA rotation for Lumiere's on those nights).

Note that you'll only get Lumière's on one of the two formal nights on the Eastern trip, since you'll be in a different restaurant on Thursday than you are on Sunday. I wouldn't worry too much about which restaurant you have for formal night. In 4 trips, I've never been in Lumière's for a formal night (LAP rotation every time) and I don't feel it's taken away from our enjoyment.

Senior Ferrari....yes, you are correct about the second formal night not being in Lumiere's....I was looking at the wrong rotation. The semi-formal night on Eastern is Thursday, but in Animator's Palate

Animator's Palate is fine for the semi-formal, I just think Parrot Cay seems less dressy, fun, but less dressy.
I did e-mail DU and they noted the request on my reservation, no gaurantee however.
Has anyone ever requested a rotation and NOT received it?
