I hear so much on this site about discounts that are mailed to them via postal and email, I have heard about discounts for room only and discounts for this and that, and I finally got me a discount emailed to me, :banana:well this September me and my 3 yr old prince are going on a Disney cruise and after that we are going to WDW for free dining I did the bounce back promotion last year when we first visited WDW and thanks to these great boards I knew to look into the free dining bounce back while I was at WDW, well back to the subject, I got a email yesterday for free dining they offered me to come Dec 7th-13th I was a bit surprised that they had picked a date but they did a great job because my prince will be 4 on the Dec 13th so I gave them a call and asked about the dining, because I know that they are offering free dining again this year but for the value resort stays its the Quick Service Plan which I am not interested in, so I asked him if this free dining was for the QSDP he said no I said are you sure, he assured me that it was for the regular dining plan I was so excited that I booked right then and there! So I have a couple of questions?
1. Did anyone get this offer?

2. Do you think that 2 WDW trips are too much?
So close together my mom thinks it’s a waste of money!

3. How is the weather and the crowds in Dec?

4. Is Osborne lights and decorations a must see?

If you can afford it, absolutely!! Go and have a great time! What fun!!

It's not as warm that time in Dec, but you could probably get some swim time in. You might want to bring some jeans and sweatshirts. The time that you are going should be not too crowded.

Oh yes, the Osborne lights are amazing!

Congratz to you and your family! It's good to know that they may have pin codes attached to your name. I hope that in the future, I get one of those great room only discounts, thats the only way I will try one of those deluxe resorts I just cant see why I should pay those high prices, Me and my 3 yr old are never in our room, last year he didnt even watch tv! Well I hope you and your family have a GREAT trip!

1. Didn't get the offer, but WDW is offering several good deals during that time. I'm using an AP discount, but had also received a PIN code for that time. Congratulations on your great deal!

2. I'll be there Sept 26th-Oct 4th and then Dec 12th-20th, so no I don't think 2 trips so close together are too much. In fact, I usually go every Sept, Dec, and May.:rotfl:

3. Just prior to your trip be sure to check the Orlando weather on accuweather.com. Even then pack a little of everything. You may be wearing light jackets in the morning, swimming in the afternoon, then wearing heavy coats, hats, and gloves at night.:rotfl2: The only problem with a Dec trip is that you must pack so much stuff for a variety of weather. I know about three years ago we almost froze one year, then we went back the exact same week the next year and wore shorts all week.:confused3

4. Osborne Lights and the decorations are definitely a must see. At least make the trip over to the WL for their decorations and to the GF for their beautiful tree and life size gingerbread house.

We are staying at the ASMU suties with free dining. We have the regular plan also. We got a pin code and it is diffrent than what is being offered to the general public. Just booked all our adr's last night. We also just went in April for 2 weeks for the 4/3 deal. So I would say go.

I just came back on Tuesday from FDP and I just booked Dec 10 - 15 last night at POP. Took the QSDP ... I don't have the pin code for sit down. We went last year at this time also and loved it. DHS lights are amazing!!! :cool1:

The PIN code that's being sent out right now is free dining. It includes the DDP even at value resorts. While the email may show a specific set of dates, that's merely an example. The dates on the PIN I believe are the same dates that are on the general public code. It shows the dates about 2/3 of the way down the email, on the right.

From the email:
Special Resort Offer

$1,388* for a family of four for stays most nights 10/2/09–11/24/09 in a standard room.

Book through 10/3/09.

*Total package price based on 2 adults, 1 junior, 1 child. The number of packages allocated for this offer is limited. Tickets are for one Theme Park per day and must be used within 14 days of first use. No group rates or other discounts apply. Excludes gratuities. Offer is nontransferable.

I got 3 of them (under 2 different email addresses) based on searches I had done on the disney website. Because I had already booked at a moderate resort, the price was exactly the same as what I had already booked, right down to the penny.

ETA: How can anybody consider 2 trips in one year to be too much? LOL My December trip is my second one this year so obviously you can figure out how I feel about that question.
