At Old Key West, has the food improved? I have heard they have new chef and quality and selction is better. When we first joined in 92 we didn't really enjoy Olivia's on our last few visits home I have really enjoyed having a couple dinners and breakfasts at Olivias. If you have dined recently at Olivias would appreciate your comments. Thanks Danny:)

During our Around the World tour in 2000, I trashed Olivia's big time (I actually coined the phrase "Flavor Vacuum" to describe the process the food must have gone through before serving). Since then, I've been back to Olivia's about 5 or 6 times, each time it's better and better. Not only is the food very good (IMHO), but the service has improved by leaps and bounds!! Take the plunge at Olivia's ... you'll enjoy it :)

I ate there a few weeks ago and left a message for the manager. Not only has the breakfast improved 100%, but I think I had the best pancakes I've ever eaten in my entire life. (Granted, anything is better than the styrofoam waffles that they used to serve at the character breakfast, but this really was exceptional.)We ate there for lunch and dinner also, and had wonderful meals and great service.
Fwiw, DVC members are currently getting 10% off for breakfast.

We ate at Olivia's for lunch several times in early June. Olivia's has always been one of our favorite restaurants (except for a year or so in the late 90's). I love the prime rib sandwich. It's been a long time since we ate breakfast at Olivia's, but that's only because we don't normally eat breakfast out.

I've had lunch at Olivia's on my last few OKW visits. They were quite enjoyable. I'll be back.

We ate at Olivia's a few time for dinner and breakfast at Eastertime. The sandwiches were good. So was the breakfast. We'd go back again, just not for Thanksgiving dinner.

We had a lunch and a breakfast at Olivia's this past January and thought the food and service were very good.

I agree with everyone. During our last few visits to OKW, we have really enjoyed Olivia's both the food and the service.

Sorry, Characters were discontiuned with the other cutbacks.
I'd never been to the character breakfast at Olivia's and was planning one for 2/2001. Maybe it'll come back soon.

I'll be the one dissenting voice. Neither dh nor I enjoyed our breakfast at Olivia's when we ate there in May. We both agreed the best thing about it was the toast, and we're not kidding. Maybe we caught them on a bad day?
We've eaten there four times since 5/00 and have not been disappointed at any of the dinners.

We became members in 1996 and agree that the food has vastly improved since that time. In fact....we eat there regularly now when on vacation. My daughter loves their chicken pot pie and the pasta dishes are also good.

In the beginning, we'd always dine there. Then, for a long while, it went downhill.
I'm glad to see that it's improved. We'll be going back. :)

Thanks for the info. DH and I gave it the "three strikes and you are out" and we have not been back since '98.
Maybe, I said, Maybe - we might try it again.
We just ate lunch at Olivias in May. We had sandwiches and salads and everything was very good, very fresh and the service was great.

Back in February, they had a lunch special of soup, salad, and a sandwich for less than $10. The conch chowder was yummy (if you like spicy), the salad greens were fresh, and the sandwich - turkey or ham, I believe - was just fine.
I think Olivia's is one of your better bangs for your Disney buck. They say it's popular with offsite CM's, so that says something.

Yes.....it is popular with offsite CM's! I meant to comment on this in my previous post. We have eaten there several times at lunch and have seen CMs in business suits and having meetings/interviews.
