Ok, so we are mostly decided to switch from the poly to the YC, mostly due to its location, but are very curious how close it is to the boardwalk, downtown disney, pleasure island, etc. I havent been to any of these places..is it possible to comfortably walk to any of these places from the YC?

I think that you have to take a bus to Downtown Disney and Pleasure Island from the YC, but you have an easy walk to the Boardwalk. There is a large pond between the YC and Boardwalk. I think that you can walk around either side, and maybe they have boats? I can't remember.

Also, just to make sure that you know, you also have an easy walk to the World Showcase part of EPCOT. This is a great place to hangout and grab a bite in the evenings, especially since EPCOT is usually open the latest.

Enjoy!

If you're staying at the Yacht Club you'll basically be at the Boardwalk. It is only a little walk from the entrance of the Yacht to the Boardwalk. You will go past the Swan and Dolphin hotels and once you pass over one of the canals that spill into Crescent Lake, you'll be on the Boardwalk.

You can also walk clear around Crescent Lake via the Boardwalk as it now completely encircles the lake. It is really the best place to be IMHO. You are just so centrally located. If you really feel up to walking I think you can even walk to MGM now from Yacht/Beach/Boardwalk, and of course the International Gateway to Epcot will be basically right outside your door.

ENJOY!!

As others have stated, if you leave Yacht and make a right you are a 5 minute walk to Boardwalk and if you make a left you are a 5 minute walk to Epcot. You are also about a 20 minute walk to MGM or you can take the boat.

The only way to get to Downtown Disney is by car or bus.

February and September are totally different, in February you may have to wear pants and a sweat****, depending on the weather and in September it is hot and steamy. (Your average low in Sept is your average high in February). I think crowds are around the same either time
