I understand that it's been closed for a while and now I'm wondering if it will be open during our trip in August! Has anyone heard anything?

My understanding is they are doing major refurbishment to the exterior and interior of the attraction. This is rumored to include "more water" to make it like you are floating right up to/next to dolls/scenery.

It is scheduled to be open by July 25 (according to the official site (http://www.disneyland.com) )

Ooh, I hope that if is finished on time. This is my DH's favorite and it would be fun to see it redone. Thanks! :D

The current rehab does not include the "good" part of the rehab, meaning the sets are supposedly not being touched at this time and neither is the flume. This rehab has been reported as being installation of computer controls, safety features and automatic safety gates. We don't know yet if the nice makeovers of the 5 attractions is going to happen.

Oh I hope it gets an exterior rehab. It needs it desperately. It's so sad to see such a fun ride so faded and dirty.

The CMs in the Toy Shop at the exit to Small World were telling people July 25th was the re-opening day. I really don't believe that's enough time to overhaul the exterior; there wasn't scaffolding around the structure. I agree that it looks very dingy; you can see were the lights for Christmas decorations were hung for the past few years. On the train ride, you could see that landscaping was being replaced around the topiary plants. Oh well, next trip!
